Kzel divided his focus by checking his stats while listening to the Gaian officer who came to inspect his land. They had a tradition which predated most of their current practices, that the land was bound to the spirits of their ancestors. The shaman in a casual dress, without the bones and animal parts, held an orb. By putting it on the ground while calling for the spirits, they can identify if the land was already owned if the orb turned into a yellow hue. But if it turned green, no one had any claims to the land.
