Rose Pov(who from here on out will be known as Liza):
It felt strange in the light. Usually everything happens in a flash but this time I felt like I could take my time. I get like I was walking thru a hallway to say with monitors on both sides of me, and when you stop and look at them I realize it's my memories on display.

And my little cedric bringing home his first place medal at the science fair. My kids were my pride and joy and I knew I needed to save them and try to keep them from harms way if possible. I made it to the end of the hallways and opened the door. From there it felt like I was waking up. I sat up on the side of the bed and looked around the room. I was in the barracks. My room was small and fit my bedroom living room and kitchen all in the same place. The only thing that was private was my bathroom. I took a deep breath it felt weird to breath again like it was foreign to me and I had to think about inhaling and exhaling. After a few minutes I was able to stand up and make my way to the bathroom where I got a good look at myself. This body was very different than mine. Though she was still beautiful. This Liza girl stood about 5'6 with blonde curly hair. Her eyes were green and he body was definitely toned and in shape. I was ready to see what this body could do so I got ready as fast as I could grabbed a phone I saw sitting on the table and made my way to the training grounds.
Once there I looked around and saw it was pretty bare. That's when it hit me. I hadn't even checked to see what time it was. I pulled out my phone and saw the time was 6:00am but that's not the only thing I noticed. I saw the date and realized that I had been gone for 2 months which mean I only had 10 months left to complete my mission.
"Fuck, training doesn't start until 9." I was about to turn around when a voice I knew all to well.
"You're a little early for training don't you think Commander ?"
Commander? Was that me? Holy shit of course that must be me who else could it be? I turned around from my post and saw a much thinner version of my mate Zeke.
He was still beautiful, but something was off. Everything about him seemed duller. His red hair was a little darker and his eyes weren't the bright baby blue I was used to. They were dark and looked a little vacant. My heart broke. I wish I could just kiss him. I tried my best to clear my throat and act casual. Remembering that it must be weird I've been staring at him this long.
"You know what they say early bird takes the worm." He chuckled. And then looked even sadder.
"I knew a smart woman that used to say the same thing. Are you enjoying your transfer here? I know you have only been in our pack for a few days but let me know if you need anything."
So I'm new. That's perfect then that saves me the hassle of having to figure everything out. Even though I know everyone I don't know how they know her yet so I will have to be very observant.
"A wise woman she must be. So my king if I may be so bold what are you doing here this early." He took a step towards me and peered off to the sunset.
"I needed to blow off some steam. I try to do it before the world wakes up and I must begin my duties. Oh and by the way please don't call me King. That's never been my thing and is more suited for my best friend Cole."
I paused for a moment "yes Alpha, might I help you blow off steam? A quick spar since you look like you need something you could punch?"
Zeke looked at me for a moment in silence. I think it's been a minute since he talked to people because it really wasn't coming natural. Memories of grant and I pulling pranks on Zeke just to make him laugh cake to mind. I really hope I would see those days again.
"Sure why not, I appreciate it but I must say I won't go easy on you."
I felt Lilly smirk in my mind it was good to feel my friend again. "Neither will we." She said to me and with that we made our way to the center.
I observed his stance. He was still the mentor that taught me everything. Some things never change. We danced around each other and I waited until he made the first move. He lunged forward and I side stepped him while doing a leg sweep in the process. He fell to the ground.
"My we are getting rusty Alpha."
He re gained his footing and got back in his stance.
"Is that anyway to talk to an alpha, I'll have you know I've punished people for much less."
Why did that sound familiar. Then It hit me.
*flashback
Zeke Rogers Put me down!" I squealed as he was now carring me like a small child.
" Well miss Rose is that any way to talk to your Beta. I will have you know I have punished rougues for doing much less." Zeke chucles and tries his best to give me an innocent looked as he tightens his grip on my Ass.
I leaned down and wispered into his ear. Two can play his game " Well Beta put me down now and I will gladly take your punishment later." with that I nibbled his neck and he let out a soft groan. I smiled in victory.
*end of flash back
Oh how I wanted to feel his touch and his small kisses. I snapped out of my thought though and saw Zeke wasn't going to make the first move this time.
"Well alpha you can punish me now if you can lay a hit."
I went forward and just I thought he took a side step but when he tried to hit me from the side I ducked it giving him and uppercut to the ribs. He spun me around and grabbed ahold of both of my my hands.
"You are extremely good and fast Liza we are lucky to have you."
I smiled still knowing we may be sparring but right now I was in his arms.
"You haven't seen nothing yet." I hooked my leg around his knee and yanked him to the ground spinning in just enough time. Unfortunately he still had a lock on my arms so he sent me down to the ground with him.
Right on top of him to be more precise.
We were both panting from the sparring.
He spoke first "I haven't sparred like this in awhile. They don't end like this but it was a nice change of events. You are one hell of an opponent."
" you mean they don't usual end in a woman straddling you? Strange mine usually do." I smirked at him while getting off of him and helping him stand up. Was that my was of flirting with him gawhhh how pathetic am I?
He stretched and put his hand behind his head " yea that was something new for me as well. I should get back though thanks for letting me blow off steam." He took a step forward and kissed my hand. Then leaned into whisper to me " next time you should let the Alpha win. Tends to hurt our pride when we get wiped the floor with by beautiful women." I knew I was blushing by how hot my cheeks were. Then I remembered I wasn't Rose is was Liza. He was flirting with ANOTHER WOMAN!
"Yes but it's you." Lilly chimed in.
"Yes but he doesn't know that. For all he knows he flirting with a stupid blonde. Ughh how could he cheat like this." I was thinking to Lilly.
"You do realize that for one you're dead. For two he's single. And for three we need him to fall in love with said bimbo. Also you sound crazy." I scoffed why did Lilly have to be right. I came out of my daze to see Zeke had released me and was beginning to walk away. Once I got over they crazy dead girl thin I realized what he said.
He said next time. Which mean there was going to be a next time!
Zeke Pov:
Everything hasn't been the same since Rose died. My heart hurts all the time and I wake up with chills. I have to be strong as an alpha and a father to our three kids. They need us. When I went to the grounds I figured I could just hit some dummies before the world woke up but I was expecting the new commander there. She was cute but not as beautiful as my rose and she looked lost in thought just like I was.
When I asked her why she was here so early she simply replied
"early bird gets the worm."
I smiled to my self. Rose used to say that when she woke the kids up from school. Or when she was excited for something especially if she beat me to the training ground. I missed everything about her.
I was going to walk past her but she offered to spar with me. I figured a moving target might be more stimulating that just the dummies. I wasn't expecting however to have her wipe the floor with my ass. If I was going down she was going down with me however I wasn't planning on putting her in a position where she was straddling me. It made me think about the first day I claimed rose as mine.
I kissed her hand and told her I would see again. Something has me curious about this girl. I don't know if it's because she doesn't look at me with sympathy or maybe it's because she reminds me of rose and I would give anything to feel close to her for just one more second. I walked back to the pack house and found Cedric there with Cole eating breakfast.
"Where's everyone else?" Cole peered up from his coffee
"Colton spent the night at a friends house and well you know where Violet is." I nodded. Ever since she found out Liam was her mate she has locked herself in her room. It has become so bad that we had to switch her to home schooling. She needs to join life again but I know she is struggling with her moms death and I don't want her to reject Liam. She won't survive plus it wasn't completely his fault though I know Cole doesn't see it that way.
It's hard to believe we were once enemies. Now he his my best friend and co parent which is weird to say since it give people the wrong idea.
"How was the training grounds?" Cole asked me. I suppose he was trying to make small talk so cedric didn't feel uncomfortable. Not that we don't get along it's just neither one of us quiet know how to cope with things correctly.
"It was good. The new commander was there and she let me spar with her." He looked up at me.
"What was she doing up that early. Must be as crazy as you."
I threw a roll at him." She said early bird gets the worm." I shrugged and looked back down at the table.
Cedric is a very peculiar child and doesn't say much but he piped up " just like momma ! Right dad?" Cole patted his head and replied
"Just like momma"
I knew the flashbacks were too painful Becca he abruptly took his leave and didn't return. She wasn't just like rose but I have a feeling she might just be different enough to help us move on from Rose.
