"You know, Yoe. I found a rare species." The guy spoke.
"Rare species?" With curiosity, the second guy asked.
"Yes, and she is a very interesting one."
Chapter 7
((Latrice's POV))
Flashback
"Father, I want that! buy me a rabbit doll over there! Will you buy it for me?" I asked my father whose smiling at me happily.
My father is old, he's a company employee and a very kind father to us.
"Big Sister, what are you? A three-year-old girl? You're too old for that kind of stuff." My brother snorted. I rolled my eyes, "Not much like a gadget addict as you." I reproved him. He puffed his cheek as he tried to ignore me.
"Oh, come on guys. Don't start a fight now. Come, I'll buy the rabbit stuff for each of you." My father approached us gently to cease me and my brother's misunderstanding. "Hmph! I don't want a cheap thing like that." Although my brother is such a brat, my father just smiled at him cheerfully, without any resentment.
Those days are really fun, It's so normal and happy.
But when did everything goes wrong?
End of flashback
I was staring at the window, trying to feel the sunset's warm to my body. When I looked around the room, nobody is here. "Where is Ruru?"
He said he will protect me but now he's not even here.
I pouted as I started to fix myself, also I didn't find the nurse, so I left the room without any notice. It's weird that nobody is here. "Where is everyone?" I looked at my wrist's watch, "It's only five o'clock in the afternoon but look how empty this hallway is." I also started checking each room that I pass by, all of them is empty.
"Is it me or everything is so weird? Oh yeah, I need to get my things from my classroom." I ran toward my room and since I feel my body becomes lighter, I don't have any problem moving swiftly. When I got to my classroom, the desks are amusingly well-fixed. Not to mention my desk is so neat and there's no vandalism in it too.
I am really surprised about this Although, somehow, I felt happy to myself.
"Did they finally realized that they shouldn't bully a cute girl like me?" I talked to myself, satisfaction is written all over my face. However, I noticed that my bag was missing. "Ehhhh?!" I searched my whole desk but there's nothing to be seen, either the other desks.
"Oh wait, it was probably in my locker?" So, I instantly went to my locker to check it but when I tried to put my locker's password. It got denied. "But I'm sure that my password is 0-7-0-7." I scratched my head in confusion.
"Maybe it's best to go home instead of thinking my password right now. I might be confused because I'm tired, besides... Ruru isn't even here." I decided to head home instead of troubling myself. When I found myself outside, the sunset is still so vibrant and warm.
Never mind that, I should just be resting.
I started walking to the direction of the main exit from the school campus. "There's no one here, I didn't see even a single teacher either. Even the school guards or the freshmen that play baseball in the afternoon."
Did something happen that everyone in this school just vanished without any traces?
As I step outside the campus ground, I began to feel anomaly cold.
Not all that. In a blink of an eye, I found myself inside the campus ground once again. I tilted my head to the exit gate--. "Just what in the world?" I smiled creepily within my face. "Is this a kind of prank?!" I turned over again to scrutinize the exit again once more.
"I was sure that I already passed this gate." So, I tried sticking my arm to the other side. I didn't see anything weird though.
"Let me try again." As I decided to pass through the exit gate, I discovered myself came back from inside again. I feel like I'm being looped in one place! "What is this? It's getting creepier and creepier!" I stepped backward; my whole body is started to shake in fear.
"R-ruru?! Ruru!" Without any thoughts, I shouted Ruru's name but all I received is my voice echoing. I ran inside the building and keeps shouting, "Ruru! Where are you?!" But there's no response from him.
It was like this whole building is abandoned. "Ruru!" I shouted once more.
When I passed by my room, I saw someone standing in front of the window. There is someone here, Thank goodness. I thought I'm the only one who's here.
"Are you alone too? Everyone is missing and I think I'm looping in this place." As I started to approach him, he remained in deep silence. However, the guy is intensely watching an endless sunset. I stepped beside him as I tried to gaze his face, but I never expected to see a familiar face.
I stepped backward. I was covered in fear when I'm about to leave him. The room's door suddenly closed itself.
"W-why?" I heard footsteps coming for me when I turned over to face him. He gripped my hand gently as he smiles at me widely. "Why are you scared of me?" He asked.
"It's because you resembled Ruru..." But there's no way that you are Ruru! Ruru is a ghost, ruru isn't that tall... However, this Ruru in front of me is way too manly. Am I inside of a dream?
"I see. Maybe I'm Ruru or maybe not. Although it seems you are being trapped in this space." Trapped? I'm trapped in this space?
So that's why I am being looped in one place? But how did I ended being trapped here? Not to mention, there's a matured looking Ruru here.
"Why don't you rest for a while?" When he said those words, I recall Ruru's words to me either. He made me rest and now I'm trapped here. But if I'm trapped here, "What happened to my real body?"
"Latrice-chan! Wake up!" My eyes widen when I heard Ruru's voice not so far from where I'm standing. I noticed the guy who's having a serious gaze at me. "You should rest here for a while." He then dragged me to sit on one of the desks. He also fixed the desk in front of mine and turned it over to face me. He leaned his head to my table comfortably.
I don't understand his action. Although I was sure that I heard Ruru's voice before, but now we're only cloaked with silence. It was so silent and peaceful just like what I wanted since I was young. I leaned my head in my desk next to his but I'm facing the opposite direction.
"Do you want to go back?" He suddenly asked.
"If you were to ask me, I rather stay here forever."
"Why?"
I sighed, "When I've lost my father. My life became a mess, my mother threw me away and people around me called me a witch or sometimes a devil. They throw rocks at me and laugh while ridiculing me. Who wants to stay in a world full of misery and suffering?" I kept holding back my tears, "I want to end my suffering..." I closed my eyes.
"What about me? Aren't you supposed to grant me my wish?" My eyes widened. "R-ruru?" I slowly looked Ruru with a confused expression within my face. He was already facing me and crying, "That's why I need to come back to fulfill your wish. Ruru-kun, will you send me back home?" I smiled at him gently as he fixed his body and nodded.
My body started to fade to that space, I don't know how I ended up in this place but it seems the Ruru in this space is also lonely. "Ruru!" Before I disappeared, "I promise. I will definitely grant your wish!"
When I woke up. Ruru's worrying face is all I can see.
"At last, she woke up!"
"What happened to you?! We were so worried you're not waking up!" The school nurse said, I also saw the guy who brought me here in the infirmary. He's looking at me with a worried face while having sweat all over his face.
"I-I think I had a very deep sleep ahaha." Even though I'm laughing like this, I can't stop thinking about the possibility that if the Ruru in that space didn't bring me back here. Then is there a chance that I'll pass the afterlife?
"This is not the time to joke around, idiot." I was very surprised to hear those words from the guy who I don't even know. Although, he was quite right. I looked at Ruru with my sad face. "I promise, I will grant your wish." I noticed Ruru got shocked by what he heard from me but he quickly changed it into a wide bright smile.
"Uh? Who are you talking to?" The school nurse uttered.
"Ahohoho, No one."
"You should go home and rest but I guess you won't be able to walk properly..." The nurse faced the guy behind her, "You. Help her until she gets home safely."
"Wait what?!"
"Ehhhhh!!??"
