"So, are you two gonna continue to take the spotlight?" as Li Xiang asks teasingly.
Li Yi releases herself from him, and wipes her tears away from her face. "What kind of brother makes fun of her sister like that?" as Li Yi said it mumbling.
"Huh, I can't hear you." Li Xiang said it while laughing.
"I'm gonna go back right now," as Li Yi walks back to her room.
Once she closes the door behind her, she could feel her heart racing so fast. It feels like she couldn't feel the pain inside of her anymore.
The rock in her heart has finally released, and now she could sleep peacefully.
But on the other hand, Li Xiang pulls Yu Xuan into his office.
"So you told her about it?" as Li Xiang asks.
"No."
"Then how did she know?" Li Xiang asks curiously.
"The accident made her remember." Yu Xuan said it without any experisoon on his face. He is happy that she finally remembers, but inside of Yu Xuan's heart, he somehow has this worry.
Li Xiang somehow got this smile on his face. 'This is gonna be interesting.' Li Xiang thought this inside of his head.
The next day, Li Xiang went to check on his sister.
"Li Yi, it's time to wake up." Li Xiang wakes up his sister when the sun is not even fully up yet.
"Li Xiang, are you crazy. It's not even close to 6 yet." Li Yi whines, as Li Xiang opens the blinds up.
It's only 5:56am, and Li Xiang is coming to wake up Li Yi already.
"Mom and dad is gonna come soon. And later I have round checks on other patients, and so I won't be able to see you."
Li Yi looks at him unsatifly, but she rises up her bed anyway.
Li Xiang checked on her, and saw everything was normal. "Your wound is healing, but don't do anything intense movement or else your wound could get worse.You understand?"
Li Yi perfunctory nods her head.
Before Li Xiang leaves, he walks up close to his sister and stares at her hardly.
"Ah Yi." As his eyes are still on her.
"What do you?" as Li Yi is having this weird feeling.
Li Xiang gave her a sideway glance. "When are you going to confess?"
These words hit right into Li Yi's heart. Her face started heating up, and didn't know how to react or say.
She pushed her brother away from her, and nervously said, "what do you mean? Confess what?"
Li Xiang pushed his glasses up, and gave that smile to her. "Hum, you don't know?"
Li Yi shakes her head, "right. I don't know what you're talking about."
Li Xiang knows her sister very well. Basically all her secrets she has, can't be kept away from him.
"Yeah Yeah. Keep acting like this, and soon he will be taken away." Li Xiang laughs, and walks out the room.
This Li Xiang has not much to do, but here teasing his own sister. But he is right. Li Yi knows and understands what Li Xiang is trying to say. But she's scared to take this step. What if he doesn't feel the same way as her. Will even being a friend or even colleagues with him will ruin like this? All these thoughts kept circling around her head until her parents came in.
Li Xiang was right. Their parents came in at 6:45am.
"Ah Yi, how are you feeling?" as her mom and dad ask her.
"I'm perfectly fine. If you don't believe you can ask Li Xiang."
"He came to check on you already?" as her dad asks.
Li Yi nods her head. He just came like 30 minutes ago, and said that he's busy today. That's why he came early.
"That boy is lying. He just doesn't want to see us that's why." As her mom interrupts.
"Why?" as Li Yi asks and reaches out for the food that her mom made for her.
Her mom bought her chicken feet soup. She opened the next box and saw more meat.
"Uhmm, why is it all meat?" as Li Yi asks.
"Your mom said it's gonna help you heal faster," as her dad said it while looking at his wife. Li Dad and Li Mom argued this morning about what type of food they should bring over to Li Yi. But Li Mom insists on following her way when it comes to things like this, and Li Dad has no choice but to listen.
"Drink some soup," as her mom pours a bowl for her. It's good for your legs.
Li Yi looks down at her fractured right leg, and inexplicably laughs. She took the bowl of soup from her mom, and drank it. Li Yi never likes drinking soup, but she wouldn't make any fuss in the hospital especially when it's supposed to be "good" for her.
"This is my good girl," as her mom takes her empty bowl.
"Dad, don't you have to go back to work right now?" Li Yi gives him a wink in the eye. Her dad understands it right away, and starts pulling his wife out. "Com'on, lets go. Our daughter needs some rest."
"Ah Yi, make sure to call us when you need anything. Me and your dad will come back at night to give you dinner."
"Dinner is no need right," as Li Yi whispers.
"Okay I'm going. No need to drag me," as her mom talks to her dad.
"Bye mom and dad." Li Yi waved them goodbye and saw them leave.
Once they leave, Li Yi looks at the food her mom made for her. It's all meat and some type of other chinese dishes she has never seen. She picks up her chopsticks, and tries the first piece of meat.
"Too salty." Li Yi places the chopsticks down, and gulps down the soup.
Li Yi knows right away that the soup was made by Liu Ma.
Her mom has never cooked for her in her 25 years of life. This is the first time she ever cooked for her, and even though it doesn't taste the best, she still feels the warmth and appreciates it.
She covers the lid back, and places the food to the side.
It's only 7am and Li Yi don't know what to do. She got woken up too early and now she doesn't have the mood to go back to sleep. She takes her crutches with her, and opens the door.
Outside the hallway is pretty quiet. The nurses are just working, and some doctors are doing their rundowns.
"Miss. Li, do you need something?" as the nurse manager came up to her.
"No, I'm just bored inside. So, I decided to just take a short walk," Li Yi responds with a smile on her face.
"Oh. I just saw your boyfriend downstairs before. I believe he came here to see you. You must be very blessed that you have such a nice and handsome boyfriend." After the nurse says it and leaves, Li Yi awkwardly laughs. "My boyfriend?"
Li Yi took the elevator, and went straight to the front lobby.
Once the elevator door opens, she sees Yu Xuan and that girl from the other day at the office. The girl linked her arm around his, and smiled at Yu Xuan.
A sudden pain went through Li Yi's heart. She doesn't know how to react. She then remembers what her brother told her. "And soon he will be taken away." Those words kept circling around her head.
"Is that your little sister that you told me about?" as the girl scans Li Yi from top to bottom.
'Little sister?' as Li Yi said inside her head.
Li Yi stares at Yu Xuan, but he doesn't look at her.
"Shan Shan, go in."
Both of them walk inside the elevator and the door closes.
There were no words in between them. The one that broke the silence was Shan Shan.
"You must be Li Yi right?" as she turns around looking at Li Yi with a smile on her face.
"Who are you?" as Li Yi asks her.
Shan Shan looks at Yu Xuan and then back at Li Yi. "I'm Yu Xuan's girlfriend." She then added another phrase. "We came here to check up on you, and bring you breakfast." She holds it up in front of Li Yi's face. But Li Yi turns her face around.
"I don't need your breakfast," she said coldly.
"Li Yi mei mei, do you not like me or what? This is from me and Yu Xuan. You don���t even know how long we waited in line for this. Yu Xuan saids you like the soy milk and bread from here, so he has been waiting in line since morning."
Li Yi looks at Shan Shan and then at Yu Xuan. Still Yu Xuan, didn't look at her. "No need. I've already eaten."
The elevator door opens, and Li Yi angrily walks out with the help of her crutches.
But Shan Shan wouldn't stop. She walks up to her, "Li Yi mei mei, I know you don't like me. But you can't act like this. Yu Xuan got this for you."
Li Yi couldn't take this no more. She stops walking and turns around. "I've already told you. I don't need your breakfast." She stares at her hardly.
Yu Xuan stood there not saying anything.
Li Yi turns around not knowing a wet floor is right in front of her. As she slips, and Yu Xuan was about to save her, Shan Shan purposely makes a fall too and grabs a hold of Yu Xuan's shirt.
Li Yi fell real hard on the floor, and she could feel pain going through her chest. A pain not only from the injury she has, but also what she wasn't supposed to see.
"Miss. Li, are you okay?" as the nurse manager came to give her support and hold her up.
Li Yi got up and the nurse handed her the crutch. She didn't tell the nurse the pain she has, and turned around heading back to her own room.
