(Chesca's POV)
The waves of monsters kept coming in endlessly. Flying units just kept getting sniped out of the game by me and Mitch whilst we kept hold of our muskets in our separate positions.
"Chesca, 23 left!" - Mitch
Both of us paid attention to all sides to lessen the threat of the front line. Though this is entirely for support, I just simply have to clear off some of these annoying enemies. The numbers and directions represent the angle in which they show themselves around. We didn't need to mention the altitude since we can always check in any second.
"Mitch, two large monsters inbound on Denzel's position."
"I got em." - Mitch
Mitch silently shot three bullets quickly. Since his class is a magic sniper, he doesn't particularly need any form of bullets or reloading. He can just shoot air balls for quick elimination. However he still uses musket or silver bullets just in case he needs something that's very lethal. If I we're him though...
"Chesca, 56 right, crowding." - Mitch
I'll use exploding bullets.
"Clear!"
After firing an explosive bullet, I took out a piece of yellow grenade. After that, I patiently waited for Seymour's signal before throwing it off the tower. I then shot three more explosive bullets to annihilate the flock of bats that numbered to more than thirty.
Through the telepathy, Denzel tried to spat out his calculations.
"Seymour, isn't it about time?" - Denzel
Seymour, had a different thing in mind.
"Not yet, keep going until it gets really crowded." - Seymour
Without a tiny bit of hesitation, Seymour exclaimed to increase the risk further to Denzel. He didn't look the least bit happy but he followed it anyway.
Gargoyles started to show up as air units. However, it looked like they were simply protecting some angelic floating summon that's about to fire something not to the front line, but to me.
"Mitch!-"
"Same problem here!" - Mitch
Mitch is also facing the same problem in his side. I put the grenade down so I wouldn't mistakenly throw this off the tower and destroy a part of the wall.
But knowing that this angelic creature is about to destroy one of the towers with a single ray of light.
Better get rid of them before we lose control of the situation. We can't add up issues here.
Since Denzel has a high smithing ability, he didn't forget about giving me actual sniper bullets made from tungsten. I loaded one bullet into my musket and aimed very carefully.
And in this game, anyone can use any kind of magic.
"Precision Protocol."
My sight and accuracy was improved by a long shot. Seymour seemed to notice my intention from down below and held up his hand casting some lightning magic. And with his help, I fired an electro-magnetically accelerated bullet. The recoil was too powerful that I was pushed back by a meter and stumbled down. But the sniper bullet pierced through the number of gargoyles and the angelic summon itself.
"Thanks Seymour."
Through telepathy I expressed gratitude but...
"It's not the end yet kid, prep it." - Seymour
Knowing that it's about time for Seymour to bring out the big guns, I prepared my holy hand grenade.
But before that though...
"Chesca, boulder!" - Mitch
There was an incoming boulder that was fired from a catapult. I was about to blow it up but my musket wasn't loaded with an explosive bullet. With quick reaction, I dove to the side immediately as the boulder broke half of the tower, lowering my footing area.
Seymour's barrier doesn't stop non-flesh projectiles so this was very reasonable.
"Gravity Pinnacle Skill: Devil's Hand!" - Seymour
A large barrier in the battlefield that nearly reached our front lines was erected. It completely crippled all enemies within a hundred meter radius.
And with that signal, I tossed one holy hand grenade. Mitch followed up and threw one into his side of the battlefield.
And it seems Seymour has brought out an explosive of his own.
"Seymour, you're using that?! It's still experimental!" - Denzel
"Who cares? As long as it blows up then it's good." - Seymour
Me and Mitch shot off most of the summoned monsters in the front line, allowing Denzel and his team to take cover.
With a two-second delay, Seymour threw the large experimental weapon Denzel developed right in the middle of the erected gravity barrier.
Denzel's experimental explosive was deadly mishmash of explosive and untested gunpowder. The potential harm of his creation could lead to our deaths but since it made its way to Seymour's hands, we may as well feel a little bit more relieved instead of terrified.
The bomb was just a simple large black rod that will detonate on impact with the ignition of fire magic. Seymour planned to throw it high into the sky and make it land towards the hordes of monsters. In that timing, me and Mitch threw the yellow grenades on both sides to completely eradicate the large area leaving no stone unturned.
With that timing, three large explosions resounded and wiped out the entire wave of monsters. All of the explosives were so powerful, that it changed the topography of the mountain.
"Seymour, looks like terraforming is necessary if we're cleaning this up." - Denzel
"Yeah, we went a bit too far with this." - Seymour
The enemy's barrier was damaged. It wasn't really expected for that to happen but it was an opportunity for Julius, Robin, and Karl to make a move.
"Robin, Julius, get in there and flank them all." - Seymour
"Got it!" - Robin and Julius
"Karl, we need the lights again." - Seymour
Another large ray of light was formed above the castle walls.
"And with this, it should be clear who is superior." - Seymour
Seymour fired a small laser of concentrated light toward the damaged barrier. With the strength of his magic, the barrier was dispelled and a new one was formed to deflect the laser to the sky. With that opening along, Robin and Julius are now inside the enemy's lines.
"Now, we cancel out the formation we have. Denzel, you and your team shall proceed forward to the enemy lines, go rampage." - Seymour
"You got it!" Denzel
Denzel and his team started running towards the barrier that was recently dispelled.
"Mitch, Ross, you two shall go and support Denzel and the rest." - Seymour
The two simply nodded and went off quickly. Me and Karl stayed in near the castle just in case of stray raiders. The rest of the fight is now up to them.
(POV SHIFT: Denzel's POV):
My group finally reached the enemy's area and started a real massacre of players. With only a minimal number of us acting against a thousand powerful enemies, we had to be cautious to some extent.
However, better coordination wins.
There was quite a gap between my team and the enemy group. The moment we entered their view, they started casting spells and preparing their front lines.
"Flash Freeze!"
I puffed out cold smoke in a large area, obscuring their vision and allowing Malech to secure the kill on their marksman without missing.
A large scythe that was chained onto something was hurled up high and it decimated the musketeer's head in their back line. At the same time, William's composite sword came from above the smoke and swept out most of the swordsmen and spearmen.
Vince first appeared from the smoke and jousted the shield that was laid out in front of us and pierced through the shield and the person holding it down.
Before that, two enderpearls were thrown up high and landed right behind the enemies. That's where me and Jerald landed. At that point, it's the beginning of the festival of death.
"You know the drill, kill everything!"
Jerald parried a panicked attack by the ranger and stabbed him with a dagger from his left hand. He raised his katana and swiped it toward the left while dashing forward.
Whilst I, simply reformed Omnitelum into Duality and started clearing up the first line of enemies.
Another line comes in sooner with summoned monsters. Single-eyed large bats appeared from thin air and started firing lasers at us. Malech and the others dodged at hair's breadth while I simply absorbed the lasers with Omnitelum taking the form of my trusty shield, Vajra.
With preparedness for anything, William threw three daggers that landed on their marks properly. Two landed on each bat and one at the person with a large staff. Immediately switching his weapon with efficiency. He then changed his weapon into a musket with deft hands, firing a bullet and eliminating another summoner.
After that, he switched to a chain and sickle type weapon but with different ends. Having a side-axe on one side and a ball of pain on the other. He flicked the ball of pain towards me to redirect it to the enemies through an angle. Just by simply turning my shield by a few degrees, it effectively hit one armored guy and made him writhe in pain.
Now, with Malech and the others finishing up their targets, I revved myself up for the main massacre.
I converted Omnitelum into Duality once more and pushed forward towards the enemy I have met for the second time...
"Chrominus, I don't care whatever you say but..."
I dashed forward and split up with the others.
"Your time of death has been decided."
