Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Jail is just a room

I ran my fingers through my knotted strands and rested my arm on the open window placing my head on my palm as the wind gently flushes me.

I took the chance to observe the car more noticed that it was one of the older versions of the model with a clear few dents and fading paint black making it look almost grey.

Its been a couple of minutes since we got stuck on the road and the traffic light hasn't flashed green yet and neither me or Noah attempted to say anything.

It would be an understatement of the year if I said its not awkward in the least, you could literally slice the tension in the air in half.

And it's been eating me out to say anything.

"Its a beautiful day, isn't it?" The words flowed out before I could stop myself making me face palm myself in my head.

Seriously the sky is blocked and we're stuck in the traffic and that's what I come up with?

Noah glanced over me and looked over the traffic but said nothing about which I'm thankful for, "sure."

"Look I'm sorry that you got in this whole mess and I really didn't want you to get involved but I can't do anything about it now." He says suddenly clutching on the steering wheel.

For a moment there I thought he was talking about the traffic but I soon got what he was talking about.

"Will he seriously do anything to Alex if I don't comprehend with the plan?"

He doesn't say say anything but I'm caught up on the answer through his silence.

We stay like that for another what felt like eternity and I don't bother saying anything.

"Why didn't you get your car after the party?", He asks breaking the silence and I look up to glance at him.

"I don't remember where I parked the car."

He looks up at me with an amused look.

"I was in a hurry and I have zero sense in directions and stuff."

"Do you want to check later?" He offers trying to suppress a smile but failing miserably.

"No it's ok, Cody said that he'll look over besides I'll probably just screw it up if I help."

He nodded at me, "So I guess you would be needing some sort of mean of transport for the mean time..."He trailed of making me raise a brow.

"Yeah I guess"

"And it happens that I'm only a couple blocks away from your street"

"Is it." I said mockingly.

"Do I really have to say it out loud?"

I gave him a fake confused look, "Say what?"

He sighed, "Come on, its kinda my fault you had to leave your car in the first place."

"Kinda?"

"Well you did your share of part by walking in anyways"

"Aren't you a bit too young to be involved in the whole kidnapping thing anyways?." I finally ask what I've been wondering for a while now.

"Age is just a number princess" He replies with a hard face but tried to hide it with a smirk.

Why do people even say that? Its clearly a word.

"Yea and Jail is just a room." I mutter rolling my eyes.

Who started this princess shit anyways?

"Well I'm not really judging cause I don't know your reasons for getting involved in any of this." I tell him honestly noticing his slight mood change.

He gave me a slight nod before focusing back on the road

We finally reach the school's parking lot and the first thing I noticed is a bunch of curious eyes in our direction.

I grew a little frustrated but I decided to just shrug it off by ignoring them and undone my seatbelt by my one hand and reach for my bag by another.

I see Alex standing at the gate and I ran to her after throwing Noah a quick thank you.

************** ***************

The day went faster than usual and the bell rings for the last period and I walk down down the halls to my Chemistry class.

I am reminded that Noah is in my Chemistry class when I see him sitting in the back of the class.

His one arm is rested on the desk, placing his head on his palm as he stares outside of the window eyeing the football field where upper class men are practicing.

How did I never noticed him in this class before?

His gaze flicks to me for a minute and I immediately look down as I normally do walking around a few desks to my seat.

I open my binder in Hopes of that I didn't forget my homework, when a piece of paper slipped out.

I picked it up curiously and my eyes immediately widened.

Shit. Its Alex's history assignment.

She asked me if I've seen it multiple times and I said no to each.

This happened before

And let's just say it wasn't pretty when she found out.

I stuffed the crumpled paper back inside my bag and decided to just slip it in her locker when she's not around.

The class went annoyingly slow with Mr.Fernsby mixing dangerous liquids for my liking and babbling stuff and with me glancing on my watch every 5 seconds.

But I still managed to take notes nevertheless.

The bell rang indicating that the purgatory is over and I literally jumped out of my seat receiving a few glares from Mr.Fernsby.

I paced through the hallway and was almost out of the school when someone tackled me.

"Zoe!! I'm gonna ask you a huge favour and there's no way you can say no." A familiar voice exclaims on top of me and I look up clutching painfully on head to see Alex.

Is this a thing now?

I'm so gonna end up with a concussion if I hit my head once again.

"What the heck Al!?"

"Well I needed to be sure you won't try to slip away while I was talking."

"Ok just tell me what you want this time" I say giving her my hardest glare my face could scrunch up into.

"Cody asked me to hang out with him!!" she exclaims squealing jumping up and down with her still on top of me.

"So?"I ask after her fangirling session on top of me.

I was never one to squeal back.

"I want you to come with me."she says pulling out her so ever best puppy dog eyes.

"Why don't you go by yourself? You guys always hangout so what's the difference now? And the last thing I wanna be is the background to your cringing moments"

"I'm begging you zoe! I know we hang out all the time but this time it sounded different and Your the only one who can sense and stop me from probably saying something stupid!"

"Alex I can't come even if I want to which I don't by the way, My shift is in a few hours and I didn't turn for the last ones since last week!"

I was gonna continue my protest when a shadow of a large figure hovered over us.

I looked up to see cody eyeing us amusedly and Alex instantly got off of me.

He cleared his throat, "Um...you girls ready? The cafe is gonna close in an hour."

"Yep" Alex immediately replies nudging my elbow.

"Fine" I mutter and follow behind cody as he leads the way to his car.

I sat behind on the back seat after Alex called shot gun on the front seat.

"We found your car by the way zow" He paused and rubbed his neck "atleast some part of it."

I was in a full glee about not taking the bus anymore before I processed his whole sentence.

"Parts of it?" I ask in a total horror.

"Well turns out the place where you parked it was near a wrecking yard so.." cody trails off explaining glancing at me through the rear view.

My poor baby

"You're really good at finding weird places tho, I didn't even know there was a wrecking yard nearby" He adds more to himself

"Gee thanks"I reply covering my face with my hands frustratedly.

"That car was my last straw. My Grandfather is probably gonna kill me."

"I don't even know why your Grandfather even cares about you destroying so many cars" Alex mutters.

"Yeah, isn't your driverthrough some kind of a car show?" Cody agrees back making me remember the couple of times he's been at my house.

We always had to bring a seat for him in the Garage as Alex literally fanned him with her hands as he claims he was on the verge of fainting.

He could be dramatic when he wants to but I'm just glad he still didn't treat me any differently.

Alex suddenly looks between as looking as if she's comprehending something in her head.

"We're better off with her out of any vehicle reach anyways"
