Chereads / When The Goddess Fell In Love / Chapter 80 - Chapter 80

Chapter 80 - Chapter 80

Catherine stood shocked in the same place Alexander had left her in. She could not fathom the scene which occurred before her. The woman's voice and Alexander disappearing right before her. She finally had him back in the palace but now he was gone again and it was all the Goddess's fault.

In Catherine's eyes, the Goddess took her for a fool. The Goddess sent Chaos to mess with Darius's head making him think he had a God captured. Then Chaos was sent her way and in the end, she killed her own flesh and blood. Catherine started to laugh realizing how much the Goddess played with the two siblings.

Thomas didn't see why Catherine was laughing when they just witnessed Alexander working together with a Goddess. "Princess, you have to report this to everyone else. Prepare the army or something. Alexander is a traitor and so is Leon."

Catherine glared at Thomas for marking Alexander out to be a traitor. "I'm the one who gets to decide what Alexander is, you imbecile. Listen to my words carefully. Arrest all the ministers you knew were close to my brother except for your father. Have him supply you with information to keep them locked up. Also, inform your superiors about the Goddess and say Alexander has been kidnapped. Tell them to prepare our men for battle because the Goddess will attack."

"Yes princess," Thomas accepted the princess's orders but he didn't agree with one thing. Alexander was clearly working with the creature so why was the princess going to hide that? Was it all because of her crush on the man?

Thomas always knew the princess was childish but this was beyond ridiculous. This concerned the safety of all people in the kingdom but she was trying to look out for Alexander most likely to marry him. Thomas burned with jealousy with how much support Alexander was getting.

He thought with the king dead Alexander would have no one to support him but the princess was still hooked on the man. Why did everyone have to love him? What was so special about Alexander Mclane?

Thomas started plotting against Alexander again. He'll do everything the princess ordered him to do except not label Alexander as a traitor. The moment the palace guards march into the forest to kill the Goddess, he'll kill Alexander on his own and expose his dealings with the Goddess. Then, not even the princess nor George Mclane could try to punish Thomas for doing so.

"What was it Alexander took from my brother's bedroom?" Catherine suddenly asked Thomas. "He had something in his hand. What did he come back looking for?"

"Your guess is as good as mine, Princess. The king hid many things from us and Alexander was the only guard always in there. The only other people who might know something, you have ordered them to be arrested. Would you like to change your order?"

"No," Catherine quickly replied. She wanted her brother's followers to be jailed immediately. Mister Garfield was the main one she wanted to see rotting away. To see him fall from his high horse now that her brother was dead.

There was no doubt they would plot against her to have her removed from ruling or try to use her. She needed fresh faces to help her rise up to be queen. All she needed to do was promise those people something they couldn't resist.

"If you succeed in getting rid of my brother's followers I will grant you any wish you want. Surely, a higher position would suit you, or are you happy being a captain? Keep in mind that a general position will be up for grabs. I need people beside me and if you do right by my orders, you will go far in this palace."

Thomas smirked hearing the princess finally speak his language. There were so many things he could do with that position. The princess might not be as stupid as he thought. All she needed was some guidance and the person closest to her in these uncertain days will benefit the most in the future. "I pledge my loyalty to you, princess. I will not let you down."

"Good." Catherine didn't trust Thomas as far as she could throw him because of his terrible relationship with Alexander.

Since she liked to keep an eye on Alexander she learned about Thomas and his jealousy. There was no way he would cast aside his hate for Alexander and work with him in the future. She'll get rid of Thomas in the future but as of right now, he was her only help.

She glanced at the other guards in the room who were only listening to the conversation she was having with Thomas. "If all of you value your lives, it would do you some good to forget everything you saw and heard today. You are now my people. Each of you will be needed to help Thomas arrest all of my brother's followers. Do it well and you will have rewards awaiting you."

"Yes princess," they simultaneously replied.

"I will do as you said right away," Thomas bowed to Catherine and then commanded the men to follow him.

As Catherine was the only one left in the room, she went towards the balcony which had a perfect view of the forest. Alexander was somewhere in there and she didn't care how many men she had to sacrifice. She will get him back and marry him. Instead of asking nicely, this time she would force him.

Catherine couldn't wait to see the life leave the Goddess's eyes after she would be tortured.
