"Yes, but I wouldn't just give up everything you've accomplished. The best way to help the people is here within the palace. Now that Darius is dead all the leeches will be coming out of their holes to see what they can grab for themselves. Catherine will have to lead for a while but you know the people here will try to get in her head and use her. You need to be here," Leon tried to reason with his friend.
Everything wasn't going to settle as easily as Alexander made it sound. The king's death was just the beginning of people trying to grab onto the power and abuse the little people.
"Answer me honestly Alexander now that it is just the two of us. Where have you been these last two days? The last I saw you, you were going to calm down Darius about the attack in the palace and now here you are talking about quitting. What happened while you were away and where have you been?"
"I can't say and even if I could, I am wasting too much time standing here talking to you," Alexander ignored Leon's question and went further into the king's bedroom where Darius's dead body still lay waiting to be examined and taken somewhere for a proper burial.
He started to search for the sword Artemis had sent him for amongst the wall of swords Darius kept in his bedroom. He hoped he would pick up the right one and wouldn't need to return. 'If I were a fallen sword, what would I look like?' He mentally asked himself.
"What are you searching for Alexander? Your behavior is making you highly suspicious right now. You know I would never tell anyone what you are up to. Tell me what is going on Alexander." Leon placed his hand on his friend's shoulder and asked. "Are you being blackmailed or something? Did you have something to do with Darius's death?"
"How could I when I was near the palace? Is it this?" Alexander asked himself as he picked a sword from Darius's collection which looked a lot different from the others. "It couldn't be," he said, putting it back just as he found it. Although Darius made some dumb decisions when he was alive, Alexander felt the man should be smart enough not to have the sword out in the open.
He was still certain Darius kept the sword in here because of how paranoid he was. Darius believed that if he kept important things out of his sight someone would try and steal them away. That was why he kept Chaos close by and everything else which could have been heavily protected.
Alexander started to walk around the room looking for any places Darius could have hidden the sword. This only continued to confuse Leon who had not received an explanation for what was happening. Getting close to Darius's bed, Alexander's hand with the bracelet started to tingle. 'What if they show signs of the other object being near?'
Deciding to test this out, Alexander looked under Darius's bed and found a flat trunk. He immediately pulled it out hoping that this was what he was looking for so that he could leave the palace right now before anyone else tries to talk to him.
"What is this now? Seriously Alexander, start explaining things to me. At least a small part if you are unable to tell me the long story. We're friends, man. Whatever you are doing I am in. You can trust me. Is that the sword they kept talking about in those tales about Gods?" Leon's eyes widened when Alexander opened the trunk. He saw drawings of a sword like this when he was reading a book in the forbidden library. "I know it was said the kings had it but I have never been so close."
Alexander studied the sword which had strange writing he couldn't read all over it. It shined in the light showing that it was not something from this world and as he held it, his body felt strange as if the sword was affecting him. The design of the sword looked similar to that of the design of the bracelet Artemis placed on his hand. One thing is for certain, the power he felt while holding the sword was too dangerous for a human. Especially humans who could use it in wars.
The sword needed to be away from everyone who could use it for something bad. He placed the sword back in the trunk and stood up to take it to Artemis. He wanted her to send the sword back to wherever it came from so that no one would be able to use it ever again.
"I am leaving again. Take care of the princess," he informed Leon. "If I ever get the chance to, I will tell you everything but as of right now, you have to trust me."
Leon sighed wishing Alexander would have just told him but since he was so adamant that he couldn't, Leon decided to wait until Alexander felt he could come to him. "Fine but if you don't come back to tell me soon, I will hunt you down and make you tell me what's going on."
"You couldn't even find me when the king ordered you to look for me. I need you to look after the princess," Alexander ordered Leon as they were leaving the king's bedroom now that he got what he came for but they got a surprise visit before they could leave.
"Alexander!"
