"Brother!" Catherine exclaimed in disbelief at her brother's decision. Although what he recently saw was not the real Alexander it should have been more than enough to convince him what this woman was telling them was nonsense. "Do you really think Alexander is with a goddess?"
"I don't know what to believe Catherine but I wouldn't put it past one of those things to try and pull a fast one on me. I can't just ignore what this woman is saying given the fact that Alexander first went missing so suddenly and now he showed up talking about a secret mission. Things don't feel right and my mind is confused," Darius rubbed his head to help make some sense of what was happening. He liked to think what he saw was the real Alexander but then again, what if someone was really messing with him?
"I can feel a bit of the Artemis in this room, your highness. She might have been here before," Wendy sat up slightly to look around the king's room. There was a strange feeling about it the moment she walked in but figured he must have something belonging to a God in his bedroom as a trophy. However, the more she was there she got the feeling that there was an actual person who was not human in the king's room.
Darius wanted to silence the woman because he kept his prisoner a secret from a lot of people. That person must be the one she felt in the room but there was no need to worry. He had a bracelet placed on the God he caught and chained them down in his room. Now that he thought of the bracelet he realized something. "Is there more than one bracelet?" He asked Wendy.
"No, your highness. There was only one bracelet sent to this world and there is no other who can perform like it. All others are fake as the Goddess has it in the hand of Alexander Mclane."
Darius had a chilling feeling suddenly come over him. He had found what he believed to be the bracelet used to control Gods and placed it on the God he captured. The God told him there was an even more powerful bracelet out there that Darius had been searching for. If there was only one bracelet powerful enough to control a God and the Goddess had it, that would mean…
"Guards!" Darius yelled to the men on the outside after realizing he had been fooled all along. The God he believed he had captured was never under his control.
It was too late for the guards to enter as black smoke filled the king's bedroom and the sound of chains shaking was heard as they dropped to the floor. "My oh my. I have been caught," Chaos chuckled, making his presence known. "I wanted the fun to go on for much longer but this nosy human spoiled the fun."
Darius raised his sword ready to protect himself since his guards couldn't get in. He wasn't confident as he normally was when speaking to God as he did in the past now that he knew the bracelet he had was of no use. "Show yourself. How dare you fool me!"
"You made it too easy, your highness. Look at you, trembling at the thought I might kill you. Don't worry, today is not the day you shall die. Put down your sword and stop humiliating yourself. It's only humoring rather than scaring me," Chaos spoke as he circled around the three people in the room. Though it was upsetting the plan had been changed, he was happy he didn't have to listen to the king's words anymore.
Catherine shook with fear since she had made a deal with this person to get rid of her brother and become queen. What if he decided to expose this plan? She gripped the front of her dress hoping the man would keep quiet about it.
Wendy went into her pocket to get a small white bottle, opened it, and threw a white powder toward the voice in the shadows. She felt great evil in this room and knew she had to get rid of it or the evilness would spread.
"What on earth is that disgusting thing you tried to throw on me?" Chaos asked, looking down at the white substance disappearing into the black smoke he spread throughout the room. "What did you honestly think that was going to do? To correct all of you, I am not a God but still not a person who can be killed easily. My mistress is very upset with you," he said to Wendy.
An enemy of Artemis was an enemy to Chaos. His mistress would be upset to hear that this woman had revealed Artemis having Alexander and now Chaos couldn't stay in the king's bedroom listening to his plans.
"You, you are a follower of Artemis! No wonder I felt her presence in this room," Wendy now realized. She searched for more bottles to protect herself. The powder wasn't successful against this creature but it was the only thing she had to protect herself.
"Don't even think of throwing that thing on me again. My mistress wishes to send all of you a message," Chaos smirked before sending all of the smoke to consume Wendy. It was the price for meddling in Artemis's plans. "Be prepared for what is coming."
