"So Alex it is"
"Yup!" Maëlys raised a brow at his response.
"Ok, Alex. Come on then."
With that they both jogged their way back to her house.
Upon reaching her gate she said, "Thanks, Alex. For everything. Not just jogging me home, but also for earlier today. I dont know what I would've done without you there at that point in time."
"Dont stress over it. It wasn't a big deal. I was heading home anyway." Alexander said this with a smile.
"Well, if there's anything I can help you with, you know where to find me. I owe you a favour. Good night Alex. Thanks again."
With that they parted ways.
In the driveway she saw an Austin Martin parked and she wondered who it was that came to her at this time of evening.
Reaching inside she was informed she had a guest. She couldn't help the eye roll when she thought to herself, 'What is with these people and popping up so unexpectedly?' when she found out who it was.
She went to the office where her guest was and sighed to herself.
"Bonsoir frère." Maëlys greeted her brother. Though she was a little excited about finally meeting him, she didn't portray that on her face nor in her tone. She made her way to her office chair and was very satisfied at how comfortable it felt.
She stared at the young man across from her that had matching features to her. Same warm caramel skin that looked tanned at the moment. He had chocolate brown eyes that he got from their father and combed back dark hairs that crowned his square shaped face. His strong body was dressed in a navy blue three piece suit with black leather shoes.
With his jacket open and his left arm resting on the back of the couch and his right arm resting on his crossed knees holding a glass of amber coloured liquor.
"Get dressed. We're going out. Suit and tie event. You have an hour at most. Use it wisely." His deep voice only gave her instructions the moment he opened his full lips. Maëlys found him unbelievable.
"Ok. 'Bonsoir to me too'. You do know you can't just come to my place and demand things from me right? Besides, I'm not going anywhere. I have things to do. Pending assignments and I have to rest up for my photoshoot on Monday. So no, I won't be going Malik."
"Hmm. It's for charity and Joseph will be there."
"And what does he have to do with me? What is he, Jesus' father? He's so scrawny it's a shame. I wonder what I even found in him in the first place. I'm laughing at myself. If you want me to go, you have to give me some incentive."
Malik took a sip of the liquor in his cup, "When since have you become so demanding and when since don't you like Joseph?"
"Since recently. I'm not the same girl you knew once upon a time. So? What are you bargaining with?" With a raised brow Maëlys challenged him. Malik let out a low chuckle.
"How about you come with me, and I'll owe you a favour?"
"A favour you say? Ok, stay here. I'll be down in an hour tops. Getting a favour from you is a once in a lifetime opportunity, can't miss out on that."
With that Maëlys went upstairs to get ready. Taking a quick shower she chose a red off the shoulder floor length gown with a high peekaboo slit, a sweetheart neckline and an open back. Along with the dress she chose a pair of jaw length diamond earrings with a matching necklace, a silver clutch to put her necessities in and a pair silver heels. 'Well, since I have them and can wear them now I might as well. I would never dream of even trying them on lest I fall.'
With that she blow dried and straightened her hair where it reached mid back and just below her breasts. She then put it in a sleek low ponytail with a center part.
Doing her makeup, she chose a smoky eye with mascara and red lipstick making her dress. With how clear her skin was, she didn't need any foundation at all.
Making her way downstairs, Maëlys greeted her brother and said, "Come brother, I'm ready. Let's go."
Existing the house they made their way towards where the Austin Martin was parked.
"Is this new? I don't remember seeing it before." Maëlys questioned with a puzzled look on her face.
"Hmm." was the response she received. She couldn't help but joke.
"If anything were to ever happen to the family, selling all the cars you own alone sure would sustain us for at least three years." The look she received couldn't have spoke louder even if he shouted at her. She hurriedly went pass the door he held open for her and sat after arranging her dress properly.
After an hour's drive, they reached the venue of the event. The charity began at 8:30pm and it was now 8:15pm.
Upon exiting the car, the valet took the keys and drove it off to wherever the garage was.

Flashing lights all around bore testimony to just how many photographers were around to capture the arrival of the famous and the wealthy.
But who would've thought, the people on the red carpet at the moment would be Maëlys' very own traitorous Walker family?
