Arata Tsubasa, the girl who is a pair of glasses, as well as my girlfriend in the present. Just kidding. Not about the glasses part though. A slender girl with a relatively large chest (it's not important, but I know some people take interest in details like that), and long black, twin braids hair. She also wears glasses in human form. Glasses wearing glasses, I know. But even though she looked like your typical high school geeky-yet-lowkey-really-cute girl, she really is a pair of glasses that I had stored in my drawer. I needed them to see temporarily when I was a kid, and when I no longer needed them, I kept them in the drawer that no longer exists because of Tsubasa. Being honest, I forgot about them. But to think that I had a pair of anthropomorphic glasses. No, that's not the right word do describe her. "I'm a Tsukumogami." she said. "To put it simply, because you've had these glasses for a long ass time and also worn them before, your glasses have a soul. That's me. I'm Arata Tsubasa. I am your glasses."
"A Tsukumogami, huh? There really are a lot of weird things out there."
"Yeah yeah, boring shit, whatever. Hurry, put me on."
"You're one vulgar pair of glasses, you know that? Also, those glasses are from my childhood, I doubt they'll fit."
"Don't worry about that, I have total control over these glasses, because I am the glasses. I'll just adjust myself to fit you."
"Alright. go for it, Glasses-chan."
"That's Tsubasa-chan, if you insist to add -chan to my name. You can drop it if you want. I never hear you use honorifics with your harem."
So she listens in to my conversations. Good to know. Wait. Harem? I think she misunderstood. I have no harem, they're simply my friends who coincidentally are all girls, who may or may not be secretly after me ("secretly" is used very loosely dealing with Noriko and Rin). Hold up, one more time. What else could Tsubasa have overheard while hiding out for so many years as a pair of glasses? Well, nothing to get worked over about anyway, the past is in the past.
Tsubasa transformed herself. In a flash her human form vanished and left the pair of glasses in its wake. I put her on.
"How does it feel, Tsubasa? I'm wearing you. You know what, forget I said that. That makes me sound like a serial killer." I'm not a serial killer.
"Let's try this line. *ahem* How does it feel, Tsubasa? You're sitting on my face. Nevermind, that's too kinky, even for me. Forget I said that too. That makes me sound like a pervert." I'm not a pervert. Though there's not much evidence to that.
"Go look in your mirror, Yuji."
"You can talk as a pair of glasses?"
"Yeah. Neat, huh?"
"I'm not so sure." I wasn't so sure. "Most people would soil their undergarments if they heard a talking pair of glasses."
"Just say it how it is. The normal person would shit their pants if they heard glasses talk."
"That's exactly what I said, but more explicit."
"I fixed the phrase for you. I used sentence enhancers."
Somewhere, I don't know where, I had heard that term before. It was strangely familiar.
"Whatever. They don't look too bad. Rather, you don't look too bad."
"Cool, so let's go."
"Where?"
"To school."
"No."
"Why not?"
"I don't wear glasses."
"Girls dig glasses."
"I have a girlfriend. I also have enough girls as things are."
"Just wear me, god damn it."
"No. If you're going to come to school with me, you're going to be in human form and you'll wear the school uniform." I told her, hoping she would listen to me, knowing that she wouldn't.
"You know, I'm not just good at being a pair of glasses. Let me show you. Go downstairs."
I stepped out into the living room. I heard "Those glasses look good on you, honey." from Noriko and "Husband, those things look ridiculous." from Rin. But I heard "Holy shit, Tsubasa is amazing" from myself in my head. She had blessed me with the best view ever. Nothing short of a miracle. There they were, Noriko and Rin, in the nude. Not really, but Tsubasa activated what I call "panty vision", which is ironic, because it actually removes the panties from view, as well as all other clothing. "Excuse me, ladies." I said, then hurried back up to my room.
"Tsubasa, you're one pervy pair of glasses."
"I was just showing you what I can do."
"What else can you do?"
"This."
The Tsubasa glasses have lasers. Technically. She collects light, compresses it, refracts it, other fancy sciencey mumbo jumbo, then releases it as high power lasers.
"I can do a lot more than that too. Well, what do you think? You won't find a pair like this anywhere else."
That's what she said.
"You have earned my support with your show of strength. Now come and sit on my face, Tsubasa."
"Okay."
Tsubasa was delighted that she could come to school with me. The way she acted would make you think that she herself was a schoolgirl. Of course, she is not. She is the furthest thing from a schoolgirl. She is a pair of glasses. She had agreed to stay in glasses form if she could come to school with me.
Come lunch time, I was eating with Tamae. A pleasant time it was, her and I enjoying a meal together. To everyone else it looked like a teacher and student eating lunch while covering study material, but little did they know that it was a couple enjoying the presence of each other.
"Hey Tamae, aren't you a bit close?"
"Aren't I allowed to be?"
"Yeah, but this classroom is huge and you're super close."
"Well, I can get a super good look at your new glasses from this range, and as the girlfriend, of course I want to be as close as possible to my boyfriend."
"GIRLFRIEND?"
Said the talking glasses. What a shocking development for Tamae to discover.
"Excuse me for a moment, Tamae." With that, I hurriedly left the room. In a flash. My glasses were off, and a girl was in front of me.
"Did I hear her say girlfriend?"
"You did. That's my girlfriend."
"But isn't she your teacher?"
"She is. But she's also my girlfriend."
"You can get away with that kinda thing in schools these days?"
"Hell no. So, please keep quite about this. Also, you should've told me that you can talk as a pair of glasses."
"I won't tell anyone, but I'll need to talk with her to make sure she's a suitable partner for my master."
Master? Is she into S&M?
"I am not! It just happens that the glasses I 'possess', though it's more accurate to say that I am the glasses, belong to you. So, you are my master."
"Alright then, the first command from your master is to get on my face and not startle people by talking suddenly."
"Okay." I was knocked over, quite forcefully was well. Not only was I on the ground, a skirt was draped around my head, and something peculiar was in my face.
"Nice stripe pattern, but I meant to turn into glasses first." I said, muffled.
"I know, I just wanted to mess with you."
"Honey, are you okay?" Said Tamae from inside the classroom. Once I heard footsteps, I knew it was all over.
"Yuji dear, what happened?"
As soon as Tamae came into my view, I thought I was in a hole I couldn't get out of. But there was no girl, nor was I being suffocated by her panties. What Tamae saw was that I fell on my ass, and my glasses slipped off.
"Here you go. We don't want you losing these." She handed me my glasses. Rather, she handed me the glasses. I guess they are my glasses, but the glasses are Tsubasa. And it wouldn't be right of think if speak of Tsubasa as my property. If this were a regular pair of glasses, then sure, they're my glasses, just as an apple that I own is my apple. But these aren't regular glasses, they're a girl. and if we swap out the terminology, "my glasses" becomes "my Tsubasa". And that doesn't seem right to me, even if she claims me to be her master. I don't own her, and I have no right to speak as if I do. I would like to add lots of comments and outbursts like the one I just had to the story, but unfortunately this story is way too dialogue heavy and full of forgettable conversations. Monologues and other ramblings about the people, things, and environment around me are very important to storytelling, but I don't add much of that because I'm selfish and only see what's important to me. That's mainly the people close to me. That's why if I go to the park during this story, I likely won't be talking about the birds of their songs or how the water in the fountain glistened from the moon's glow or shit like that. I'll skip the boring stuff and get straight to it. Probably.
How did I arrive at this topic? Well, I guess that was a little monologue, and it's better than the entire story being told by dialogue.
Ahem. "Are you okay?" Tamae asked, with a concerned expression.
"I'm very okay." I replied.
"That's good, the bell will ring shortly so I'll be on my way. Bye, Yuji." She gave me an unexpected (it should have been expected) kiss on the cheek, and walked off. I thought that the rest of my school day was going to be as peaceful as my life was before I died, but I was dead wrong. I don't know why I had any hope for normalcy in the first place. I knew exactly what would happen, yet I blatantly expected the impossible. The impossibility of people leaving me the fuck alone. That didn't happen.
"Yo, Yuji."
"Tokisaki."
