The man grew agitated and his face turned red. "Leave. Don't come back. Nobody likes a twit." he replied. Compared to his usual words, these were tame and defeated. The door slammed shut and the girl smiled. She waited a moment then knocked again. The door flew open,
"Listen girl. I want nothing from you. Not your pity." the girl stood there with a smile.
"I have no pity for you man. You don't need it. I have kindness and I will give it freely. You have no choice." The man stood there stunned. And the girl walked in without another word. The man grew flustered.
"Get out! You are not welcome here!" he said. His body moved slowly as he tried to cut her off. The girl looked at him and her smile fell.
"This is where I must be most. Do not think me weak because I am a woman. I am almost as old as you are ." The man looked at her and grew confused. So the girl continued. "I am moving in. you will take care of me and like it." The was the last they spoke on the matter. From then the girl moved in. She cooked and cleaned a and cared for the broken man.
In return he did what he could to keep her happy and comfortable. It wasn't long till the family of the girl came to visit. Her sister attacked the broken man the first time they met. The parents pretended to care about the man and the brother didn't care at all. The man just grumbled to keep appearances, though he was happy for the company. Happy to see the girl smile.
