Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

When I reached the town, it was the evening.

There was quite a few farms and stores. There were lots of people. Lots of the men were seen walking around the fields with their sons planting and plowing. And the women and their daughters were walking around with groceries or were in their houses. I felt that this was the perfect place to find some people that needed work.

What the normal people could not see was the lack of money in this city. There were things falling down and the crops didn't bear any food.

The farther you walked, the better the living conditions got. And for me, the better the subject would be for feeding. I would try and make a few people that knew how to farm into ghouls and take them back to my land to progress my population and farming capabilities.

I also saw a few good looking girls. I still had my 18 year old high school mentality so I decided to de if I could use them.

But before any on this happened, I went to the nearest inn and got my self a room. I did it want to reveal myself as royalty because that would just make my life that much harder.

...

The man behind the inn counter looked really good. Even by another mans standards, he looked good.

"Hello there kid, what can I do for ya?" The man asked.

"Hi, I was hoping for a room for a few nights." I said. I looked him up and down. He seemed about 18 or 19, maybe Nora would like him.

"Sure. That will be one silver a night." He said. So I took out a silver and handed it to him. He took it than led me up to a room.

"How many other people do you have here?" I asked. This might be a nice place to get some blood and more ghouls.

"We usually have about 7 to 10 guests per night. Most of the are travelers or adventures." He said. This would be a perfect feeding ground.

I went into my room. It was nothing fancy. It had a bed and a table with a lamp in it. I decided that tonight I would sleep and tomorrow night, I would be act like a real vampire.

...

The next day, I woke up and got dressed. I went down to the common place in the Inn. There was the bay again.

"Hay there kid. How did you sleep?" He asked.

"I slept well, thank you. By the way, how old are you?"

"18. Why do you ask?"

"It was just because you looked like one of my old friends. But no, he is at lest 20 now. Sorry to bother you." I said. It was the same age as Nora. Technically anyways.

I than went to explore the city some more. I was than approached by a man. He had a hood covering his face.

He grabbed me right as I passed him and dragged me into an alleyway. I didn't stop him because I was interested.

He than pulled out a dagger. "Give me all tour money, kid. Do it or else I will hurt you." He said, threatening me with the dagger.

I laughed inside. I was going to look for a snack but one seemed to come to me. I pretended to look scared. "No, please mister, don't hurt me. I will give it to you." I than took out one of my bags of coins. It had only coppers so I would not be too sad if I lost it.

I tossed it right at him. He lowered his guard to catch the bag. At the same time, I rushed him at full speed. Those morning workouts o did when at the castle really payed off.

I reached him before he could react. Than I went for his neck. He looked scared out of his wits. 'How could a kid be so ducking fast!?' He thought.

Than I chomped down, my fangs pierced his neck with ease. They might only be a few centimeters long but got the job done. I hit one of his arteries and his blood gushed out. I was able to get it all in my mouth, drinking him dry. He wasn't even able to scream.

I sat on top of him, and dragged him deeper into the ally to finish off my meal. I also noticed that his blood tasted different than usual. It was tasted like a barbecued ... something. I couldn't quite place my finger on it, but ether way, it was good. So emotions affect the taste of the blood. That was good to know.

After I was finished with my drink, I went back to my business. I also took the coins he had on him.

I than went to pick which farmer I would make into a vampire. I saw one male who looked like he knew what he was doing.

I observed him for that day and saw that he didn't have any family like a wife or kids. He would be a good vampire. No connections to the world, and he was good at what I need him to do. I decided to make him into a vampire that night.

...

Later that night, he went into his house. After cooking for himself, he did his nightly businesses and went to bed.

Than I started ...
