Chapter 4 - Flanders Isle - Chapter Three

John meanwhile, had been waiting, sitting at the dining table watching the half-eaten food as he sighed. Thoughts echoed in his mind as he thought about what Harry had said, part if him believing that perhaps something did happen. Yet another part of him refused to believe that something could happen.

Nearby, thunder rumbled once again, the room quickly becoming bathed in a purple hue once again.

"You guys better come back," John mumbled as he looked out the window. As he sat on his seat, his pupils dilated at a sound,

"Creek." The loud sound echoed across the battered island.

John immediately began to get up, his face seemingly contorted in pain as cold sweat, fell from his brow.

"What is h-happening?" He squeezed in amidst the shock and surprise on his face.

No matter how much John tried, it was as if something else was controlling his body. Fear filled him as he got, the chair, clattering onto the floor.

John began to steadily walk out the door leaving his oilskins. Going down the long windy stairs, John tried to move his arms, but nothing came out of that.

"God, no... What is h-happening... What!" He cried out as lightning crashed down. Soon enough, John exited, the door left open as he became completely lashed by rain. Soaking him and making him shiver as he sneezed. Soon enough, John approached the edge of the cliff, staring down with fear. He had given up, acceptance having filled him as he resigned to whatever future he was to have.

"Creek..." Once again, the octopus came up, tentacles circling around John as it stared back at him, it's eyes staring at his very soul, looking at every memory, thought and emotion, everything.

"Roar!" The rocks began to fall as the island began to shake, the rain quickening its punishment as death began to lower its scythe.

Rocks and debris slowly levitated into the air as they spun around the octopus in the fierce wind as once again, black particles appeared.

It opened its mouth as all the black particles converged at one point before its mouth, it slowly formed into a ball. Light began to be sucked into it as the ball slowly grew.

"A-a Kraken?" John stuttered as his eyes turned bloodshot red in even more fear.

At this moment, the Kraken was about to send off that 'death bomb', the world slowing down as the human continued to look ahead of him.

Life flashed before John's eyes as he thought of everything. His body was grasped by the tentacles as he was brought closer to the Kraken's mouth and the death bomb. John gagged as he smelt the stench coming from the octopus's mouth.

"I... I'm sorry..." He uttered as a tear fell from his face.

The bomb was let go, it tore through John, his body being consumed by the orb as it spiralled into the distant skies, blood mixing with the rain as the last showers of red came down on Flannan Isle, life becoming silent. This was the end and till this day, no one knows what happened, perhaps this was the truth who knows...

But what we do know is that all creatures who once claimed sovereignty walked away with shame knowing that, this thing that appeared that day was the true king of all beasts.
