"What was that?" Ross paused as his head turned to the direction of the noise. But all he saw was the cobbled foundation of the bay and a few pebbles scattered around.
"Did you hear that, Harry?" He asked as he turned back to his work.
"Hear what Ross? Don't be paranoid, it was probably nothing..." Harry weakly laughed as he glanced at him.
"If you say so," He shrugged and sighed.
After finishing his work, he got up and looked at the dark, rumbling skies and let the rain fall onto his face for a moment. Lightning, crashing down at this moment and lighting up the colourless clouds with a silent, purple, hue.
"Crack." Ross looked back with a frown and saw pebbles and dirt falling. He began to move to where they had fallen and looked around. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary, he continued walking, kneeling once he reached and inspected the rocks.
"Crack," A few more rocks fell, this time bigger. They hit Ross making him wince.
"Ow..." He mumbled as he rubbed his head.
"Where was that from?" He murmured as he glanced around,
"Where was what from?" Harry asked as he walked to the storage shed and brought out some nails and a hammer.
"These rocks, they keep falling and hitting me," He said before being hit by even bigger rocks.
"Like that." He scowled and looked above, his eyes widening.
The cliffs above had cracks running across them as they visibly began to crumble and rocks started to fall more as surprisingly. A large boulder loosened and it began to crash down, the forefront dust blinding Ross as tears fell from his eyes.
Before he could scream, Ross was crushed. Blood squirting everywhere as the loud, disgusting squelch of flesh sounded.
The impact on the ground caused the harbour to crack as the stones began to converge on themselves.
Blood formed a small puddle as the stench of the crimson liquid and death coursed through the atmosphere around the harbour.
Harry froze as he looked at what had just occurred before his eyes screaming as the realisation hit him. He then fell to the cobbled floor, shock taking over him as he just lay there, the whole thing just repeating in his mind, over and over again.
Screams echoed as Harry looked away, or at least he tried to.
"God, no, no, ROSS!" His eyes turned bloodshot red as he scrambled to his feet and stumbled to where the boulder scarred the stone and looked at the pool of sticky hot blood seeping from underneath.
Harry whimpered as the blood-splattered up into the sky, covering him in this liquid.
"God..."He looked around him fearfully,
"Wh... Why?" He muttered as he clenched his fists tightly, blood dripping from his skin as his nails dug into his raw flesh. Slowly falling onto the harbour, dying the cold, wet rocks with more crimson red blood.
"This island, this land, it's cursed, has to be..." His eyes dilated as he vomited, unable to withstand the blood and gore before him.
He then he looked up and swore, scowling as he did so.
"Why did he have to die? Why did those before him have to die? Why, Why!?" He laughed grimly and started to shake, trembling as he clenched his head, refusing to accept this.
"Creek..." A loud noise sounded in the distance as the sea seemed to reverse, the current flowing backwards as it began to converge on one location. Soon, the sea seemed to start spinning clockwise, a hole slowly formed in it. Red and blue, colourful glowing particles began to rise from the hole as each second, shades darkening until they turned pure, chilling, cold black.
"Creek..." The sound seemed to have become louder as Ross took a step back in fear.
"Wh- What is this..." He mumbled as he stepped into the pool of blood and stumbled backwards, falling beside the boulder as he looked at the blood once more.
Now, the blood began to bubble, particles beginning to levitate as once more, the noise sounded.
"Creek!" A large tentacle slithered out from the whirlpool, red blood dripping down from perhaps a recent kill, rotten stench emerging at the same time. Slowly but surely, more tentacles appeared, snaking through the water as again the noise sounded, this time louder.
"Roar!" The monster lifted itself from the water as a slimy octopus appeared, teeth sharp, mouth large, this horror stared at Harry as if it were the predator and Harry, Harry was the prey.
One tentacle shot towards Harry as he scrambled to his feet and began to run.
"God... No! No!" Harry shouted in fear as he reached the steps, but all was too late. The tentacle wrapped itself around Harry tightly as it choked him. Harry struggled to breathe as he turned blue, his hands trying to push away the tentacle.
"Help!" He tried shouting as darkness encroached his vision.
"H-Help..." He managed to whisper as his body turned limp, life having seeped from him.
The octopus pulled it's tentacle back, throwing the dead body into its mouth as the sounds of crunching began.
Now, there was one left, the octopus sinking back into the sea silently as a final roar sounded.
