Chapter 3 - Chapter Three

Robbin Drakon's POV

The sound of constant beeping is what brought me back to consciousness. I stared up at the ceiling as the sound continued, trying to shake off the numbness that spread across my body. I swayed my head to the right of me to see strings connected to my arm. Looking up, I nearly popped my eyes from their sockets as I stare at a square screen which seems is the source of the beeping.

What in the bloody hells is that contraption? Never in my 157 years have I ever seen something so out of this world, and I've seen quite a lot. I need to get out of here, heavens on know where I am. I try to sit up, but something forbid my movements. Looking further down my arm, metal cuffs are connecting me to the bed.

I struggle some more, and soon realize both my arms and legs are chained.

"They're there for a reason." A voice speaks from across the room. I dart my eyes back and forth until they land on a dark figure by a door frame. It sounded familiar.

I squint my eyes to get a better view, but my vision is still blurry. The figure strides across the room towards me, and I instantly back away, unclear of his intentions. My arms rattled the chains as I tried to bring them up defensively, but they were stopped by my restraints.

The man stands at the edge of my bed, directly facing me. That's when I fully noticed him. He was tall, far taller than me. His face was sharp and indicated he hadn't shaved in the past few days. The man wore a black suit without a blazer and sleeves rolled up, showing the hair on his arms. His figure itself was intimidating. Muscles bulged from his shirt when he crossed his arms. He was a man of noble birth.

Of course, those weren't the first things I noticed. It was his eyes that brought me in. They were clearer that all of the six seas, and just as fierce as mine. Who is this man?

He glared at me for a few moments longer before speaking once again. "What's your name?"

This was my chance. I'll tell him who I am and if he had any wisdom, he'd let me go. No fool would keep a princess hostage in a foreign country.

"My name is Robbin Drakon." I rose my head as I spoke. "First daughter of Stefon and Khali Drakon. Princess of the Westerlie kingdom, and I demand that you let me go."

For a moment, he didn't speak. He didn't move at all. The man just stood there staring at me as if he were waiting for the truth.

"I'm not in the mood for lies, little girl." He moved around the bed and spoke in a harsher tone. " State your name." A small growl escaped from him as he leaned forward, his Northerner accent strong in his words.

"I can see that, But I tell no lie. I am Robbin Drakon."

"Robbin Drakon was killed a century ago. How can you be her?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.

Is that what they said? Well, I suppose they'd have to since no one except the Westerlie and Southerner kingdom knew of the island I was banished to. Northerners and Easterlies don't know of its existence.

"Why would I lie?" I go to cross my arms but am once again held back. "Would you be so kind as to remove these restraints, my lord?"

"Well, seeing as you escaped your cell and injured my men, that's not going to be possible. And it's not my lord. You will address me as your king and Alpha."

King? "You are the current ruler of the Northerner kingdom?"

He seems shocked by my words. "Don't you have any idea where you are?"

"I am in the Northerner kingdom."

"Yes, but do you know exactly where?"

He continues before I'm able to respond. "You are in the capitol. In the royal palace. And I am Xander Nightwalker. King of the Northerners and royal alpha of the Bloodmoon pack."

My eyes widen at his introduction. "Well then as a king, you should pardon your neighboring princess and allow me to travel back home. I meant no offense to your grace or your people. Let me leave, and I'll reward your kingdom handsomely."

I waited for a response. And waited. And waited, until he burst out laughing.

"What is so funny?"

His laughter dies down to a chuckle. "The fact that you think I would let you go based on a lie is hilarious."

"As I said, no lie has been told!" I try to reach out to him, but the pain was finally starting to creep back into my system.

Xander places his arms on the railings and leans furth down to me, his eyes never once breaking contact.

"Listen here. You are never going to leave this palace. You're my mate and will stay at my side as long as I see fit."

"I am not your mate, you mutt. Once the westerlie kingdom receives word that you're keeping me, prisoner, here, they'll have your head!"

His eyes turn a shade darker as he delivered his threat. "You will treat your king with respect, you piece of trash." His voice echoed through the room.

"You are not my king." I gritted through my teeth.

He smirked and turned around, heading back toward the door. Before he left, he spoke again in a condescending tone. "You are mine and mine alone. And you will never leave." And with that he left the room, leaving me alone to think of ways to end this man's life.

------------------------------------------------------

Hours passed by as I laid in that room. The sky had brightened reasonably, indicating it was early morning when I first woke. Nurses visited me often, and I grew worried when they touched that contraption next to me. They told me it was a monitor to help evaluate my blood pressure and heart rate. What is the name of gods has happened to our world since I've been gone?

I deemed it necessary to stay put and not try to escape. My wounds were treated and bandaged but it's going to take some time before I'm completely healed.

I ate the food that they brought me for the strength I would need in the future. In the middle of my supper, someone entered my treatment room, and it wasn't a nurse or the king.

The man, however, looks incredibly similar to Xander. The only noticeable difference was his hair. It was longer and reached the tip of his shoulders. He approached me with caution, probably afraid I might attack him.

"Hello there." He spoke with a smile. "How are you finding your accommodations?"

"I don't know, you tell me." I raised my arm slightly so he could see the chain I was connected to.

"Sorry about that." He chuckled, moving closer to me. " But the king thinks you're too much of a safety hazard to be set free."

"He is not my king."

The man looks at me questionably, tilting his head to study me, and then straightens up before speaking again.

"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Augustus Nightwalker. I am Beta of the Bloodmoon pack and prince of the Northerner's kingdom."

"Well, it is a pleasure to meet you, your grace. However, I can't say the same for your king."

"Yeah, Xander has always been a difficult person, and I apologize if he's mistreated you in any way."

"He's inflicted no physical harm, he only refuses to set me free."

"You're not from around here, are you." It was more of a statement than a question.

"No, I am not."

"Do you happen to know the mating process of a werewolf?"

"Yes, I do. When a werewolf reaches a certain age, they start their journey to find their mate. They can sense and smell them, but it's usually a physical connection that brings them together. After they were aware of each other that they're mates, they begin the mating process. The bite mark, sexual intercourse, etcetera."

"Well, I'm glad you got the jist of it. And as King Xander has told you, you're his mate."

"But I'm not."

"But you are. Listen, Luna,-"

"Robbin." I cut him off before he could continue that horse shit. "I will be addressed by my name, not by your luna. I am not your luna."

"Very well, Robbin. As I was saying, since Xander has claimed you as his mate, your place will be here, in the capital, helping run our pack and the country."

"But you don't understand; I belong back in the Westerlie kingdom. It's my home and I am their princess and not your queen."

"Ah, yes, Xander told me about that. He also told me that you suffered a severe head injury."

"I am not delusional your grace. What I speak is the truth."

Augustus looked at me with worried eyes. None of them will believe me. I guess my only way out of here is through escaping. He lets out a sigh and glances over to my restraints.

"I assure you, Robbin, you'll be safe here as long as you follow the rules. And one of those rules is not attacking and of the pack members with crowbars."

"And what of my restraints? Will I be chained up for the rest of my life?"

"I'm sorry to say this, but only Xander can give the order to remove your cuffs. Now, he'll come by again with more questions. Please don't try anything dangerous."

"I can't promise you that."

Augustus lets out another chuckle. "Also, call me Gus. I'm not one for formalities, your grace."

"Did you not see the irony in that?"

"I'll come back tomorrow to check on you."

And with that, I was once again left alone with my thoughts.

------------------------------------------------------

It's been two weeks since I've been chained to this bed. Every few days, King Xander would come to my room and ask me the same questions: My name and intentions. It seems he first thought I was an invader or spy. That would make sense, I suppose. After all, I was found injured on their territory. There would've been some report if a strange girl entered their kingdom. But since I was unnoticed, suspicion arose.

Of course, I'd tell him what I've always told him, and he disregarded me every single time. He thinks I'm lying. It's not a lie if nothing is made up.

Gus visits me as well; making sure I ate all my food and didn't cause any trouble. He told me that my injuries were almost healed, and once they were, King Xander would unrestraint me so he and I could talk about my role here in the Northerner kingdom. Now that should be interesting. I'll play your game, Xander. Let us see who comes out on top.
