Let me repeat something, I am not judging the sins of one person as sins of the whole group which needs to be punished but sometimes when a single bee stings you and it went back to the hive, it is best to just burn them all than find the one who stung you.
I went with Rose though we are both surrounded by guards making sure everything is safe before we go in the area of the explosion and its immediate vicinity, because the explosion was no ordinary explosion no matter how you look at it.
When we arrived at the site, I was greeted something horrifying because even I who just became a goddess saw death right before my eyes.
"ugh..." - Eisha
Death was everywhere in the area, many died as well as seriously injuring many other elves. When the scent reached my nose, I immediately stopped my self from throwing up because of the awful smell and the sight of dead people. I saw bodies charred black like charcoal, their eyes still open to see the horror and death in their eyes that it will be the last time they would see light.
"Why....would someone....do this?" - Eisha
I tried my best to speak up though with difficulty towards Rose.
"Someone said that a strange elf entered and kept looking around. At first, they thought that the person was just going from one workstation to another but turned out to be a spy" - Rose
Despite the calm and composed tone of her voice, her eyes and face show otherwise. After turning silent while staring at the scene, Rose walked out to do her duty as chief of the elf village while I stayed looking at the horror I am seeing. I tried to talk to Sora and do something for the innocent elves who died. A spell to give the elves who died a chance to say their last goodbyes to their family.
"Sora?" - Eisha
(Sora: yes?)
"Is there magic...that could give them a chance to say their final farewell...?" - Eisha
(Sora: yes there is, uploading it to your mind...upload complete, I am sorry I am not physically there to comfort you, I'll return to gathering all the data you need)
"Thank you...Sora" - Eisha
The guards are a bit confused as to why I just talked to myself but I payed them no mind at all as I was about to do something for those who died. I walked towards the center of the scene while leaving the guards behind.
"Miss Eisha, where are you going? please have some respect for those who just died and let the other guards to carry their bodies back" - guard
Despite him saying that, I think you are the one who is disrespecting them. I kneel down next to two elves, a child and mother. The mother was embracing her child protecting him before the explosion killed them both.
I stood up and walked again to see the others who died before finally reaching the center. The guards are all confused but I just closed my eyes and do the magic that was uploaded to my mind by Sora. The spell to give a final farewell to those who died, and it is called 'Vale'.
As I was about to perform the spell, I heard Rose shouted at me.
"Eisha! what are you doing?!" - Rose
I didn't answer and continued to make the mana flow to activate the spell. Rose kept on shouting before being interrupted by Hana and Midori who also came.
"What is she doing?" - Hana
"The spell to give a final farewell to those who died" - Midori
"What? I have never heard such a spell!" - Rose
"It's because only her and a few can use it, and the spell is...Vale which means goodbye" - Midori
I continued doing the spell while the three are speaking. When I completely grasped the spell, I activated it. Light enveloped the bodies of the elves who died before turning into a soothing blue ball of light then turning into a figure of that very person.
Each and every one of them are smiling when I opened my eyes. I once looked again at the mother and child still embracing each other and crying, and I could see the mother telling her child something that calmed the child down, I don't know what she said but from reading the lips, I was only able to read the mother saying 'I love you' to her child.
The blue ball of light was actually the souls of those who died, and they flew towards their loved ones and saying their final farewell before disappearing into thin air.
"Vale huh...farewell..." - Eisha
After the whole heart breaking scene, I remembered my parents and my dear sister whom I loved as well. I was about to cry remembering them until Midori hugged me from behind and whispered to me.
"It's fine...you made them happy by letting them have a chance to say their goodbyes, you don't have to shoulder everything...they all rest in peace..." - Midori
Midori continued to comfort me which really did help, I shook my head and tried to come back to my senses. I looked towards Hana and Rose and spoke up.
"They are...all fine now..." - Eisha
"Thank you Eisha..." - Rose
"uhm...thank you..Eisha" - Hana
They both looked very depressed after the spell ended, then Hana approached me like she wanted to say something very important.
"Eisha..." - Hana
"Yes?" - Eisha
Hana was looking down and crying as she struggled to say the words.
"Eisha...I...Rose and I want to see our mother again...so please..." - Hana
I hugged her closely to me as she cried. I agreed to her for me to perform the spell once again just for Hana and Rose to see their mother again. I looked at Rose to see her eyes shedding tears as well.
This made me really curious as to the history of Hana and Rose as well as the elves.
-------------------------------
After a few hours, we all came back to our senses and focused on an urgent matter that finally connected to the incident that had happened.
An elf scout spotted a huge human army in the Galaeron forest a kilometre away, and they are heavily armed with artillery as well as certain equipment with large amounts of mana which might be a devastating weapon of destruction.
"Gather the army! We are at war! Get the members of the council immediately as well as the commanders! I am sorry Eisha, it seems like-" - Rose
"Nope~" - Eisha
"Eh?! Eisha, we are at-" - Rose
"I know we are at war or to be specific, the war of the Elves and Humans, and I am participating in it" - Eisha
I continued to reject any ways Rose tries to keep me away from their problems, BUT! their problems are now my problems. I want to help them win the war because human nature is destructive, and I better do some 'godly' duties as well.
Humans are crafty despite their short lifespan, they also let their desires run freely without restraint as long as they satisfy their desires but once satisfied, they would want more and better than before.
Many might be asking as to why I put Humans in my world despite hating them, it is because of their minds. Their minds filled with so much emotion, and I am also once human but the main reason is that humans are not that different to other races.
With the Galaeron forest part of the Elven territory, the elves are more familiar with the terrain as well as them being able to strategically plan everything since the forest is also the elves harvesting ground for many materials they needed and Rose gathered her army of elves.
The foot soldiers carry swords that resemble the Japanese swords called 'katana' because the blade only has one sharp edge and a pointy tip as well as wearing light armor, the archers carry wooden bows that may seem like any ordinary bow but if you look closely on the solid part of the bow that there are inscriptions or writings that activate when mana flows into the bow and wears a leather armor, the cavalry of course rode on horses with their weapons being swords the same as the foot soldiers.
The one that got my attention in the army was the mages division. They are focused on using magic to heavily bombard the enemy as well as giving support to the soldiers in the front lines like healing and buffing.
Many would think that this is an ordinary army but it isn't because of magic. Magic reinforces objects making them durable, magic can power up anything which increases their firepower becoming lethal weapons. I even thought that I can inscribe a magic circle or something on anything I want like a spatula or a frying pan then smacking it on someones head.
Rose commanded her army of elves with ease like it wasn't her first time dealing such a situation which makes me wonder about the history of the Elves that I have missed as well as the history of Rose and Hana.
When Rose and her army are ready, she walked towards me with a serious face but in her eyes I saw...fear, sadness, and anger.
"Eisha, I have one favor to ask" - Rose
"What is it?" - Eisha
"Please protect my sister....and..." - Rose
Rose is seriously like those people...a fool. A fool dying in battle.
"You are not going to die, you must live for your sister Hana" - Eisha
"Seems like I can't persuade you anymore huh..." - Rose
Rose forced a smile on her face and gave up on persuading me before turning around and walked towards a small stage and spoke to everyone.
"Everyone! The humans have declared war on us by killing, injuring, and most of all making our people into slaves! Now is not the time to look back! Now is not the time to think of those who died! Now is not the time to be scared! Now is the time we fight back for our people, and our family! Protect them at all costs, once you march into the forest, think of the people still alive who needs your help and you protection! We must fight till the end, for our people, for our family, and for our future!" - Rose
I am quite amazed on the impromptu speech of Rose which kinda gave me a bit of goosebumps because I saw my hair stood up and despite me having chills from that speech, the army shouted and made noises with their weapons.
"For our people, for our family, for our future!" - The Elven Army
"Everyone! To battle!"
With that, the war has started and the very first war I have ever participated in. I better ask Sora to give me some spells to use because this would be the very time that the human army would regret invading and especially the thing I hated the most...slavery.
If I am going to be honest, I am not sure on who will win or lose if I won't participate because the numbers of the human army soldiers reaches to two hundred thousand soldiers in total and that includes all the foot soldiers, cavalry, archers, and mages.
For the elves, it just reaches to a few thousand soldiers in total but every single soldier is quite good at magic while the mage division used far greater magic and spells, but the only thing that gave me a weird impression on the elves' mage division is that they are a bunch of explosion magic maniacs.
Clearing up all my thoughts and think of the war ahead of us before shouting two words inside my head....
TO WAR!
and I better do that finger snap as well don't I? oh well, I have a bunch of magic spells to try from simple tricks to mass destruction so it's not just war...
