Chapter 13 - A feeling inside

"Everyone's got a feeling inside" Liz mumbled, looking at what she subconsciously wrote in her book.

This particular phrase just came to her and she kept writing it out using different handwritings or decorating it, the fact remained that the phrase was the only thing she wrote, she couldn't even focus on anything else.

"Just what does this mean?" She asked herself, confused as she stared at the phrase.

She has written it more than 50 times yet didn't know why she did.

'Maybe someone else has the answer' She thought hopefully as she got up from her bed.

She had been lying on her bed, trying to study and write down some notes but this phrase was the only thing in her mind and the only thing she was writing.

She sighed and freshened up before leaving the house with the book she wrote the phrases in.

She got to a house and pressed the doorbell.

Few minutes later, a girl opened the door and smiled at Liz.

"Hey bestie, nice to see you" The girl said, taking Liz's hand and pulling her inside.

"Come on, let's go to my room, my mom is around and we don't want her to see you and take you away" She said playfully as Liz laughed.

"You know me, no mother can resist me, Jane" Liz said dramatically as she winked.

They got to Jane's room and bursted into laughter.

"I love it when you visit" Jane said happily as she sat on the bed.

Liz took a chair and brought it near the bed as she sat on it, facing Jane.

"So what's bothering you?" Jane asked as Liz looked at her in surprise.

"How did you know something's bothering me?" Liz asked in surprise.

"I am your bestfriend, it is my duty to know" Jane said with an arrogant smirk.

"I guess you are right. Anyway, it is because of this" Liz said, bringing out the book and giving it to Jane.

Jane rose a brow but collected the book and opened it.

"Nice, your designs are getting better, even the handwritings are cute, do you want to change your handwriting?" Jane asked, looking at the phrases Liz wrote.

"Thanks but that's not what is bothering me. It is this phrase, it is the only thing in my mind yet I don't know the meaning" Liz explained as Jane looked at the phrases, thinking deeply.

"Sorry girl but I don't know. It pains me to say this, but maybe you should ask my mom" Jane said with a scrunched up nose as if what she just said was upsetting her.

"I have to say, you usually don't want your mom to take away our time to hang out yet you are sending me to her now. You must really not know the meaning then" Liz said with a smirk on her face as she looked at her bestfriend's scowling face.

"Tsk! You better go before I change my mind" Jane said, folding her hands together as she looked away from Liz.

Liz chuckled before leaving for the kitchen, where she was sure Jane's mom will be.

"Oh! Liz, you are here, I heard the doorbell before but didn't pay attention to it. Come, help me bake some cupcakes" Jane's mom said as Liz entered.

This was the reason that Jane doesn't want her mother to see Liz, Jane's mom loves baking and since Liz wants to own a patisserie store in future, Jane's mom always brings Liz to bake with her whenever Liz visits which makes Liz have less time to spend together with Jane.

"I would love to, but I actually have something I wanted to ask you" Liz said, scratching the back of her neck nervously.

"What is it?" She asked, taking two chairs and asking Liz to take a seat as she sat down.

"Well, there is a phrase that I don't really understand and I would like it if you could shed some light on it" Liz said, placing her palms on her legs.

"What phrase is it?" Jane's mom urgedĀ  gently.

"Everyone's got a feeling inside" Liz said as Jane's mom nodded her head.

"Well, that phrase has different meaning to everyone, you have to look deep into it to find out what it means to you" She said with a knowing smile as Liz's eyes brightened up.

"Good you understand. Now, let's make some cupcakes" Jane's mom said as she got up.

"Ok" Liz said, helping Jane's mom.

Few hours later, Liz went back to Jane's room after they finished baking a lot of cupcakes.

Jane was already asleep and Liz had to wake her up.

"Uh? Oh, you are finally done. It isn't fair that I am not good at baking and can't stay with you in the kitchen" Jane said with a frown.

"Well, you can stay with us in the kitchen, but you won't touch anything and just watch us" Liz said playfully as Jane pouted.

"Whatever. By the way, what did Mom say?" Jane asked, now serious.

"She said everyone has a different interpretation and I have to find mine" Liz said as Jane furrowed her brows.

"So you still have to think about it?" Jane asked as Liz packed her things.

"Yeah. It is already late though so I am going. I will see you tomorrow" Liz said, waving as she left.

Liz thought about the phrase on her way home. When she got to her room, she looked at herself in the mirror and smiled.

"I think I have found my interpretation"
