Chapter 4 - Is there more to this?

The next few days passed quietly. Wren healed and began to learn Dravyn's habits and schedule. He did some odd jobs around the castle and explored the many rooms. His favorite room was the library. It had a gorgeous huge fireplace and thousands of volumes both ancient and modern. He often picked a book at random and spent hours reading. He really enjoyed the company when Dravyn was awake. He'd taken up residence in one of the guest rooms near the master suite and it was spacious and comfortable.

The room was decorated in forest tones with beautiful tapestries and a huge king size bed with ornately carved forest scenery on both the headboard and footboard that was made with soft cotton sheets and a thick comforter to keep him warm on chilly nights. Dravyn had even made sure he had clothes to wear that he'd picked out for himself online. Dravyn appreciated everything but couldn't help but wonder if there was more than friendship blooming.

Dravyn was happy with the company Wren provided and he couldn't deny that the shy dragon was intriguing and attractive. He gave Wren everything he needed and then some. He enjoyed spoiling the dragon. Today they were both in the library reading. "Hey Wren... I like you a lot and would love to see where this goes... do you have any ideas for me?"

Wren chuckled as he looked up from his book. "I like you too David... seeing where this goes would be interesting indeed. I think I would like to go for a walk outside today and see the grounds of your home."

Dravyn nodded. "We can do that. Do you want to do it now?"

Wren nodded and marked his place in his book. Dravyn did the same and they walked together, chatting about the castle and how long Dravyn had been living here. "I've lived here for a long time. Nearly twenty years. I was born in the village in the middle ages and was embraced when I was twenty right before going to battle with raiders. It took me years to control my powers but I had the support of the others in the village since I was now their protector. I still am in a way."

Wren nodded, taking in the trees and flowers in the cortyard as they walked through it to get to the gardens. Wren was in awe of the beautiful and peaceful area. "This place is beautiful... I like it."

Dravyn smiled. "Thank you."

He gently took Wren's hand and Wren smiled. It felt nice. Wren gently squuezed his hand as they continued to walk together. Wren thought to himself that this could be the start of something beautiful. A new chapter both men had been needing without knowing it until Wren had literally fallen from the sky into his back yard.
