The soft wind brushes against my forehead, my face as still as the calmest waters as the event I bear witness, with globs of sadness dropping down my cheek. I quietly say to myself, "why does reality have to be so cruel?" at times like this people are at their darkest, and would do anything just to see or feel the tiniest bit of hope, at this time I know I definitely would, yet at the time I didn't know what I was getting myself into.
as I mourn my town's destruction every flower, every book, every living thing or person. I hear a silent whisper, "Are you ready to give up everything to get it back? risk your life to get them back?" said a strange voice in the back of my head, "yes" I tried to say as my lips quiver. "Go to the mountains to the west of here there will be a man who will help you on your path." A sharp image appears in my head of a hut in a forest, on a nearby mountain. "thank-you." I stuttered.
As the tears flow down my ashy face, I silently wipe off the silty mess. As tired as I am, I must continue hiking towards the west mountain or I will never get to see my revenge. I walk down one of the course paths bordering my home, asking myself, "What am I doing? Am I going insane? Why am I listening to a random voice in my head?". I start hiking towards the west mountain. Its Cold, but having just the smallest cliff in my bottomless hole of a heart is keeping me warm. I head to the closest inn.
-Somewhere Else earlier that morning- "Hey! Look out." I say as I tackle a the poor soul about to be killed. At the same time a gun crackles and zooms past us. I quickly check my surroundings. I see my town bright as a star, blaring in the crashing of wood and popping of flames. I walk forward. I glance at puddle of water whilst I continue on my path. "are there any more survivors?" I ask one of the noble-men "Yes, but they're scattered. No need to worry they're safe." "Thank god" I replied. I feel my vision fading in and out, it doesn't take long for me to realize I'm in a dream, I haven't looked or talked like myself. Startled, I wake up.
As I sit up and try to understand what just happened, I can't help but feel hopeless. Everything I know and love is gone. But I can't give up! With my stomach growling, I head towards the stairs. As I reach the bottom of the stairs, I hear a faint and muffled voice that although is surprisingly very upbeat is dripping with capitalist greed. The ambience of the room changes immediately, and as I listen to the muffled, upbeat voice of the innkeeper, I feel a sense of nostalgia. I decide to eavesdrop a little and what I hear shakes me to my core. "Come quickly everyone! Buy a room, and buy one quick! We might have a surge of people about to rent them. A neighboring town in the valley was recently attacked by bandits!" I enter the room and sheepishly interject to ask if he had heard of any survivors. He tells me he hasn't heard about any, but promises to let me know if he hears anything. As we converse I walk over to the breakfast bar and pour myself a cup of milk. Feeling hungry, I grab a bagel to eat before I sit down.
After finally finishing my bagel and milk, I walk back to the Innkeeper. "Here you go sir" I pass 5 silver Waves, their appearance is slightly rusted, and each of the currencies are shaped in a wavy bar about the size of my thumb.
"You know what, I have taken a pity on you, and am here to help you in your time of need! Aswell as me giving you a two wave discount, I shall give you this ring of communication!" The Innkeeper ranted.
"A ring of communication? why would you give me something as valuable as this?" I reply astonished to his kindness.
"Well young boy I hope you on a great fortune someday, being a sole survivor is the will of one of our gods it hasta be! Also this ring isn't free! If you ever see someone In need if help, help them! hell if I don't see myself in you." the man's kindness overwhelming me all I could spit out before turning into a glob of tears was, "Thank you s-sir." waving good bye, I rush out the buildings exit and hike the path of revenge.
Sad, angry, and tired, I poetically recount my day.
"Step by step I walk, the hours dim away, as the mountains forest cries, where the earths beauty lies. The birds sing, from the gift their friends bring, the foxes and their telling lies. Bears Growling, whilst wolves are howling. all while hunters gather their prize."
I sigh. As the day sporadically turns to night I grow tired, "I need to sleep", I think to myself, "but its not safe to sleep out in the open." I scout the area around me, and look for a suitable resting place. Then I spot it, a magnificent tree! A tree so large and wise, a tree with leaves that shimmer like gold. A tree that if it could speak, would tell you everything about the forest it resides in. The tree moves in sync with the wind. I begin walking toward it till I stood right at the trunk of the tree. I gaze upward then spot a beautiful, yellow, apple, not far from me. "Please allow me to treat myself." I ask the tree, as I feel the urge that something this wonderful should be given the highest of respect. After finishing my prayer I begin climbing towards the golden apple.
Wip ->
When I reach the apple I sit on a neighboring branch and softly pull it from the tree, I then vigorusly bite into the apple, The juices seep into my mouth and I instantly feel a gush of euphoria. I savour every last bite. Finally after feeling refreshed I sleep.
