Developers constantly provide the community with brand new updates and features in order to keep them playing and hooked into the game itself. They release patch notes for the players to read and in those notes certain details are displayed. These updates are important in order to make the game more fun while maintaining balanced features. Fixing glitches, exploits, adding new items, and features. These are some examples of updates. Today marks the very first update day to the realm of EO. The Grandmaster fixed the Yellow Slime Duplicating exploit and also added brand new features to the game. What will the summoned players think of this?
–Chapter 3
I woke up early in the morning and quickly ran out of my room. I bursted out the door and ran towards the portal that leads to the marketplace. Today is the very first update day, and I'm looking forward to see new items and skills. But first let's take a look at the bulletin board for the new stuff that was added.

• Fixed the glitch were Yellow Slimes will duplicate items when killed.
• Added a new area called "Battle Arena" where you can bet anything and fight for them in 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 4v4.
• Added new skill tree, Tamer
• TAMING:
Weaken (1MP) - Weakens a monster for easier capturing, most effective when monster has low HP.
Attract (2MP) - Attracts nearby monsters and applying a debuff to them making their defense weaker.
Capture (1MP) - Consumes a Monster Cage, the higher the skill the more effective this skill is.
• PET SKILLS:
Heal (1MP) - Heals 30% HP of the summoned pet.
Recall (1MP) - Able to recall and summon your pets. Has a 10 second cooldown.
Teleport (5MP) - Able to teleport your pet to your current location.
Command (Passive) - Able to give your pets simple or complex commands. May vary depending on it's intelligence level.
• Added new pet items:
Monster Cage - Used for capturing and storing tamed Viruses and Monsters.
Pet Heal - Basic item for healing pets. Comes with 8 rarities.
(Grade E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS)
Pet Revive - Revives your pet to full HP and MP.
And many more...
Events:
• Decreased EXP Gain by 95% for a few days due to sudden level gain from players.
For the first ever update to the world, it sure has new stuff to look forward to. I've been saving up my skill points for a new skill and the Tamer skill tree seems interesting.
"Alright, I'll surprise Aiko by taming a monster! Let's go!" I said while running to the nearest library.
I bursted through the door and went to the counter to purchase all the Tamer skills. Then went to a traveling Noot merchant to buy a Monster Cage and some extra stuff. And I went off to Fryrard Plains, where I defeated my first monster. Nothing seems interesting here. Dumb Slimes can be tamed but they're intelligence is low and can't be commanded. There's nothing interesting here, wait what's that in the distance.
"Fall back! It's too powerful! This Virus is too powerful run!" Shouted one of the players as they tried to kill the Virus type.
The Virus looked like a Slime but it can take any shape or form? Alright it's settled then, I shall capture that beast!
"That there slime is mine! Stand back." I said while I grabbed the Monster Cage Cube.
I casted Attract to catch it's attention towards me. It fell for it. The defense is now weakened, and it's time to pull out my trump card. I opened my bag and pulled out a sword. This item is called Quick Sword. A very powerful sword but only has a one time use. If I use Boost on it and by consuming Damage Potion SSS, it will greatly enhance the damage. I equipped a Tamer Talisman I bought from the travelling merchant which only allows 99% damage to be taken by the monster. I rushed towards the Virus and stabbed it, the talisman worked!
"Alright, let's go! Capture!" I shouted while throwing the cube towards it.
The sword in my left hand disappeared into shards while the cube I threw using my right hand transformed into a big cage capturing the slime. Then it struggled for a few seconds and then the locked clicked. The cage shrank and it became a cube again, then in my menu the pet list popped up. I did it!
"I did it! Yahoo! Wait until Aiko sees you! Let's see your stats in the mean time."
I opened up the pet menu and to my surprise, it's intelligence was max level. I got curious on how smart it was so I summoned it. From the enormous size it became a cute small slime. But...
"So you are my new master? Alright, you managed to capture me, a high level Virus and I am yours truly. Tell me my name master."
It spoke! I can't believe it. It actually spoke to me. Even the other players are shocked. A name huh? I'll leave it to Aiko since I'm not good at giving names.
"For now, I'll recall you. I'll give your name later." I said as I used Recall.
"Okay master." It said while returning to the cube.
For some reason, calling me master is making me feel uncomfortable. But whatever, I just managed to capture a high level Virus and we'll determine it's skills later. For now I should head back to the inn and show it off to Aiko.
[Later]
"Aiko! Check out this small slime! I managed to capture it! And it can even speak." I said while kicked her door open.
I saw her wearing a really big t-shirt that can barely fit her. She made eye contact for about 4 seconds until her faced turned red and she pushed me outside. So she just woke up huh? My fault for disturbing her sleep.
"Meet me outside!" I said while going downstairs.
Oh yeah I forgot, we are suppose to learn new combos today with the help from EroEroEroHeroes. Maybe we can incorporate the new slime? Oh she's finally ready.
"N-next time please knock on the door. I-it's kinda embarrassing for you to see me in my morning clothes." Aiko said while waving her staff.
"Yeah yeah but check out this slime pet I tamed using the new skill. It can even talk!" I said while putting the small slime in the palm of my hand.
"Hello, are you an acquaintance to my master? Please give me a name so we can start." It said.
"So cute! You can even talk! A name you say? Hmmm how about Doro?" Aiko said.
"Doro? Fine by me." I replied.
"Doro? Alright from this day forward I am now your pet." Doro said.
Suddenly Doro glowed and my bracelet also glowed. It manifested a new skill in my skills menu. A pet skill, called Morph.
Morph (Pet Skill) - Able to copy any shape and size of a Monster, Weapon, Players, and many more. Has infinite possibilities.
Woah that's such a powerful skill. Wait, copy any shape? Hmmm...
"Doro, morph into a Quick Sword." I commanded.
Doro then reshaped itself from a small cute slime in the palm of my hand into a shape that resembles a Quick Sword. I checked it stats but it only took 75% of the stats.
"Amazing Doro, now morph into... me." I said with an unsure tone in my voice.
Then it jumped into the ground and it reshaped itself into a figure resembling me. An identical copy of me although it's color is still slime like.
"Amazing! This is so great. Wait... I can use support skills on you right?" I asked.
"Yes master why?" Doro replied.
"I have something in my mind that I want to try and stop calling me master." I replied.
"I'll try master." Doro replied. He just said it again.
"Hey Hitoshi, what do you plan to do with Doro?" Aiko replied with a concerned look on her face.
"Well since he can transform into any player and item, I think we can make good combos so when we engage in real battles it'll be easier to fight them." I replied.
She then nodded and looked at Doro, then suddenly her faced turned red.
"H-H-Hitoshi... y-you don't plan to make Doro t-transform into m-me when I'm not around right?" Aiko said.
"Why will I do that?" I asked with a strange look on my face.
"N-nevermind that let's just go to the plains." She said while walking straight towards the portal. That was weird.
Doro then returned to it's original form and hopped on my shoulder as we entered the portal. There, we saw EroEroEroHeroes waiting for us.
"Hey it's trash can and the op mage! Now show me the combo you told us about yesterday." The leader replied.
I was planning on letting Aiko learn Water Clone Magic but with Doro around, we can be more versatile. First I'll cast boost on my armor and maintain a defensive position, then I'll command Aiko to cast Hydro Swords around me to create a barrier then I'll command Doro to morph into me and hide in the back in range of my Position Swap. If things go right, it should go like...
"All right weird leader, hit me with all you got." I said as I stood my guard.
Then he rushed me with full speed ready to attack. Aiko casted Hydro Swords around me and while it casts, I'll swap position with Doro. When the swords form it should create at least a 1 or 2 second interval where they won't be able to see me. In that interval I have already swapped places. The hooded leader then connected his dagger with my clone but, Doro then wrapped around him and immobilized him and then, the swords pointed towards the struggling leader ready to strike. When in a real battle, the swords should've pierced him right now. It worked, our combo worked.
"Amazing work, I didn't even realize it was a fake. I see you have utilized multiple skills. Nice work trash can." The hooded man said as Doro released him.
"The slime in a bottle is powerful huh?" One of the hooded men said.
"Slime in a...bottle?" Doro asked.
The 4 hooded men were shocked to hear Doro speak. I then explained to them that he was a tamed Virus and how his intelligence level was off the charts. After a few more times practicing we mastered it in no time. We shall call this combo...
"Slime Trap Switcheroo!"
"O-okay?" Aiko replied.
"Master, how about removing the Switcheroo part and add Dummy instead?" Doro replied.
Fine fine, let's call it Slime Dummy Trap then. But I prefer Switcheroo though. After we took our rest we said goodbye to the Ero boys and head back to the lobby. Apparently the Ero boys were on a quest to slay Dragon Newts on Nordam Forest, north side of the castle. Once we entered the portal we were shocked to see people crowd up in front of the bulletin board.
The Grandmaster added something new maybe?
"Check it out, the Holy Knights Party managed to find the first boss dungeon in the deepest part of Nordam Forest." A player said.
"And look! A new feature that adds a 5th slot to your party list. So you can now add a new player or a pet. Amazing." Another player said.
So they finally found the first boss dungeon huh? I wonder who is it. Maybe it's the soli--
"My my, who do we have here?" A familiar deep voice replied. It was the leader of the HKP.
He took off his helmet and brushed his hair with his hands.
"A Knight who only possesses useless skills, what a joke." He replied while laughing with his party members.
Doro was about to say something but I recalled him. I couldn't risk them knowing about him.
"Hmm? The mage in your party eh? Oh, she leveled up. Interesting." He said while looking at Aiko.
It's true, within 2 days we both grew strong. And Aiko even learned 2 new skills and mastered them. She also increased her magic damage.
"Say, why did you party up with this joke of a knight anyway? If you want you could join us, the top 1 party with the highest points and you could just get what you wish for. We need a good mage user and you seem capable of that. What do you say?" He said.
This guy, he's trying to take away my only party member! At first nobody wanted to party up with her and now they want to? What the hell are they thinking?
"Sorry but I don't want to j--" As Aiko was about to finish her sentence the leader interrupted.
"Hey joke knight, what do you say we have a duel in the Battle Arena. We can bet anything right?" He said.
"What about it?" I replied with an annoyed tone.
"We can bet anything we want to, it says here. You were the first to use it right? What do you say? Let's have a friendly 1v1 match. We'll bet all our points to you—"
Then he came near me and whispered.
"—but if you loose, we'll be taking your mage. You see, we are really lacking of a magic user and nobody is really powerful enough except her. So if you want to end this and go back to the original world, it's best if you give her to u--" Before he could even finish his words, I interrupted him.
"She's not an item I'll be willing to bet for. No means no."
"Tch, fine. For now I'll back off but next time, I'll get that mage." He said.
He then wore his helmet and walked away with the 3 other members following. But it was strange, I feel like I already knew him in the real world. Did we meet before?
"That guy, seriously. Why would I ever leave you-- I mean join a p-party like t-them r-r-right Hitoshi? Oh look a m-merchant selling items, I'll go check it out okay? I'm not a-avoiding this conversation or anything okay?" Aiko said as she dashed towards the Noot selling physical damage trinkets.
I'm relieved though, she was the only person to accept my party invite. I really thought she was about to join them and leave me. I'm glad she didn't. I'll prove to them that even a party like us exists, we will be able to get that reward and rub it in the faces of the Holy Knights Party or whatever they call themselves. There's not a single "holy" thing about them. Some lame team name they thought off. Huh? What's this?
"A marker appeared in the map, it's pointing towards Nordam Forest. Wait. The first boss is... THE SOLID MANIPULATOR, KOTAI?"
I looked around and saw other people who were shocked. Some were excited and some were worried. This is the first boss we will encounter and we found it's location so fast.
Then the Grandmaster appeared in the middle of the lobby.
"So I'm guessing you found the location of the dungeon. I have already rewarded the Holy Knights Party their bonus for finding it. Now I'll explain the rules to you. Unfortunately, there are only 2 ways to end this. Defeat the final boss, Puruz or keep on slaying monsters and Viruses until he runs out of energy and becomes dormant again. But when he does so, he is invulnerable for a while until he wakes up again and I will have to summon a new batch to take care of it. The 3 bosses will reward you amulets that will be used to unlock the Gate of Plasma, the final boss location, hidden somewhere. But I warn you, Puruz is something I cannot control, there is no doubt that he might be able to give you a day and a half respawn time. It's risky but I wish you luck warriors. Bosses respawn every 5 minutes so the first one to slay them will get a first blood bonus. Farewell and good luck!"
The wizard then disappeared and our quest log was updated. Defeat Kotai 0/1. Reward, is the Solid Amulet. In order to end this we must kill the final boss or keep on killing viruses or the bosses huh? I see. I looked around and see people gearing up. They were buying save points to teleport back to the forest incase they die. They were ready to face him. Us on the other hand, we still lack power. The recommended level to face him is 23, I'm 17 and Aiko is about to level up to 19. Can we really do this? Just the two of us...
"Hitoshi, don't worry. We can do this." Aiko said while pumping her fist.
"Thanks Aiko, by the way, that necklace you bought is a physical damage buff item. Why did you buy it?" I asked.
"Eh? I-I thought it w-was for magic."
"But there are literally 3 signs that say Physical Items/Trinkets. And the Noot running it must've told you to." I replied.
"Uhh uhh... Idiot! That doesn't matter now, let's just go and explore the forest." She said while hiding her face with her huge hat.
She's right, we can do this. Today marks the day of a new achievement. We will slay the first boss and get the first blood bonus. And then we'll show those pussy knights who's the better party.
"Aiko, Doro, Let's go!"
I said as I summoned Doro. Our adventure in Nordam Forest begins now!
Today's Spoils of War:
Hitoshi managed to capture a Virus slime monster able to morph into anything or anyone. He then named it Doro. They managed to master their first synergy combo, they named it "Slime Dummy Trap". The first boss is now found and Team AiShi will embark on an adventure finding it's entrance.

Epilogue:
When I told the players that there are only 2 ways to end this, I really meant it. I lied about the respawn time, nobody has ever respawned after getting killed by Puruz. This is the 4th generation of summoned players, this time I chose a Japanese server. Will they finally succeed in ending this feud? I have high hopes for the HKP but again, the boy named Hitoshi, he has something inside of him that nobody else has. His determination is amazing but once he finds something or even someone to dedicate himself to, I'm sure he'll get stronger. It was no mistake summoning him, Hitoshi, Aiko, I'm rooting for you.
