Arushi felt like it was a tiring day but when she realized that it was only couple of hours gone, she sighed in exhaustion.
She finally settled in her seat hoping that the devil won't summon her again as she really needed to catch her breath. She then rechecked her presentations regarding the figures. It was precise just like she thought.
"Am sure he must be crazy, I always double check with the details, and he didn't even allowed me to defense" she muttered furiously and saw Gokul coming towards her with her tea.
"Di, Your tea" he said with a smile. "Oh, thank you Gokul, I desperately need that" saying this she took her cup to have a sip. But before that she received "My cabin" message from her devil.
She kept her cup on her table and took a deep breath. She knew that he must be watching her keenly. So she stood and went towards his cabin, while Aarav just like she thought, was with a smirk, thinking "Don't even think about peace in my presence".
When she entered his cabin, "Come and explain these to me" he said rudely, though he knows about her presentations very well. She went and stood near him with a gap. She started to explain it. "Stop stop... point it, which one are you explaining to me" he smirked. When she tried to touch his screen, she realized that she's too close to him as he stared her still with that smirk plastered on his face.
With gritted teeth and the thought of how much she wanted to wipe his smirk away, she straightened herself and looked at his table. She took a pen from his stand and with that she pointed his screen maintaining her safe distance from him.
She didn't know why, but she wanted to stay away from him though his eyes make her feel something differently. He raised his eyebrows and listened to her explanations. He threw silly questions to her just to pass the time. She was literally fuming, but even then tried explaining him patiently.
She felt her knees are giving away as she was standing for more than an hour. Lastly he said "Okay, you can go now".
When Arushi reached the door with a relieved breath, he called her again and gave some other files to go through.
When she came to her place, her tea was cold. Gokul came near to her and felt for her "Di, Shall I bring a new one". She saw the time which struck at 12.30pm. "No need Gokul, lunch time is nearing" saying this with a smile she started to go through the files.
Her back has started to trouble her due to that climbing and standing punishments. She thought of Harish, who used to make her sit beside him while she explains him. She sighed. "Miss you Sir" mouthing this she glanced those files. She knows it very well that Aarav is upto torturing her to the level where she herself will apologize to him. But she's stubborn too.
When the lunch time started, Adi, Arjun and Jia gathered around her cubical to take her with them. They couldn't tell how much they are feeling helpless while she's clearly struggling under Aarav.
Adi and Arjun, wanted to talk with Aarav, but due to their past and the way Aarav won't hear a thing from them made them feel very upset. Aarav is very adamant from the beginning itself.
So, they tried to cheer her up along with other staffs. Aarav, who was watching this felt angry as he didn't want her to get any favor from others while she's still in his clutches. "Arushi, the game has just now begun" muttering this he called someone to do the next step.
Adi, Arjun and Jia tried to make her smile. Arushi folded her legs and sat in the chair as if she was sitting on the floor. She felt very hungry as she didn't even have a proper breakfast.
They started to have their lunch in the canteen. Bur within 10 minutes, she heard someone calling her "Arushi". Everyone looked at the entrance and found Aarav, who was standing there furiously. She tried to stand up by unfolding her legs.
"Ms. Arushi Dutta, Your lunch time is over. To my cabin, right now" saying this he moved towards his cabin without waiting for her reply. She sat in the chair with a thud.
Adi, Arjun and Jia stared her with a concern look while tears filled her eyes. But she blinked it away. She didn't even eat half of her lunch box. Adi held her shoulder in support, Arjun touched her hand. Jia's eyes welled up.
"Arushi, don't worry, I will wait for you in the evening and I will pick you by myself, okay" Adi said softly which made Arushi to smile weakly.
So after giving her scooty key to Jia, Arushi picked her bag and walked towards the restroom. She washed her face, got refreshed and reached his cabin.
"You are 10 minutes late" Aarav blamed her as soon as she entered his cabin.
"It's actually lunch break" she said without looking at him as she was very upset. He just walked towards her and said "It's for others and not you".
She looked him straight in his eyes. "For this, you are going to work extra 30 minutes after five" with ease he uttered this.
Arushi's eyes burned in anger which he was enjoying it very well. With his trademark smirk he continued "What, are you scared, just apologize and I will leave you"
"Am not at all scared, Sir" she looked him sharply, thinking he has no idea about her determination.
Aarav is a bit taken aback with her solid response but didn't show it. "Then it's good, and one more thing, from now on you are going to work in my cabin, right under my nose" he said as if his eyes are set only on her.
She just stared him with wide eyes.
"Yes and your things have been shifted here. So go and start your work" with that he sat in his seat.
Arushi gritted her teeth and tried to compose her as she's now very clear of his motto. "Just stay strong Arushi" thinking this she made to her chair.
She settled there while Aarav kept watching her every move and also noticed that she didn't even throw a glance at him. He couldn't say why but he wanted to look at her when he's so furious on her.
She looked at the recent files which she has gone through. She didn't know what to do now. So she stood with those and went to him.
"Sir, do you want me to prepare any presentation for these files" she said calmly.
"No" came his instant answer which made her to look up.
"Then what else" she tried her best.
"Nothing" saying this he took the files from her hand and threw it on his table. When he sensed her presence still there he looked up and casually said "That's just to keep you busy" with a smirk.
When she gritted her teeth and looked away, he felt happy that he's getting on her nerve.
"Now, if you are done staring that wall, take the notes" with that he started to give the details about their meeting with the new clients which is supposed to be on the next day.
She literally cursed him and took the hints. She then started to work on it. He couldn't stop staring at her. He never felt the need to look at anyone, especially a girl in his lifetime. But she's completely different. Arushi can sense his gaze on her but didn't look at him.
After sometime, Gokul knocked and came in with the cups. He placed the coffee cup for him and came near to Arushi.
"Di, drink this soon while it's hot" saying this with a smile he walked out as she too reciprocated that sweet smile.
Aarav was just watching this and wondered how come she can be so sweet to everyone.
"She deserves pain" his inner thoughts dominated him. Arushi started to sip her tea and looked at him, who is having his coffee with his eyes fixed on her.
She thought that he will stop her from having her tea like before. But nothing of that sort happened. She had her tea peacefully.
When she has done her work, she handed the copies regarding the next day meeting. He looked at it and said few corrections which she did calmly.
But all the time she could feel his eyes on her. It really made her uneasy and all she wanted was that, the day should end soon so that she can go home. But it seems that something else has run on Aarav's mind.
Suddenly Adi came to his cabin to discuss about an issue. Both Adi and Arushi exchanged their smiles. After he finished talking with Aarav, he came towards Arushi and placed the lollipops on her table.
She smiled looking at that. She took it and kept it in her drawer while Aarav watched it angrily.
She then informed him about her new pick up timing. Adi nodded at her affectionately and went out. Adi smiled as it was Jia's idea and he respected their friendship very much.
