Chapter 8 - New vision

Welcome to Peril lab, what would you like to operate on. An artificial machinery voice marked the entrance of Aurel and Dr. Tressa into the lab. It was the most magnificent lab which Aurel had ever seen in his life.

Aurel-: if this type of lab was present in our school I would've loved to go to our school.

Dr. Tressa-: Meet Dr. Serene, head researcher of this lab.

Aurel-: Hello, nice to meet you, I'm Aurel.

Dr. Serene-: So this is how people greet each other in Earth. Hello, nice to meet you, I'm Dr. Serene.

So, Dr. Tressa what would you like me to do.

Dr. Tressa-: Equip him with artificial eyes, and yes the latest ones.

Dr. Serene-: But, is he ready.

Aurel-: Wait a minute. The eyes are mine and I will decide what to do with it. Why do you want to take my eyes out. I know I have a poor eyesight but it has improved a lot. So there is no need to take out my eyes.

Dr. Tressa-: Please prepare for the operation. He will soon be at the operation room.

Dr. Serene-: As you wish.

Aurel-: Do you really have to go this far? I mean, it can be risky. What if I completely lose my eyesight.

Dr. Tressa-: You need this transplant. It will be helpful for you. Believe me.

After 4 hrs of operation,

Aurel slowly opened his eyes, he could see nothing but darkness, then a holographic image of his past memories started appearing in front of him, even the most painful ones started appearing like some DVD is playing in fast forward mode. Then suddenly he gives out a loud scream and sits up on the bed with a thud. He was out of breath and felt like something is choking him. He had goosebumps over his body and his forehead was covered with beads of perspiration.

Dr. Tressa and Dr. Serene soon came towards him.

Dr. Tressa-: Are you ok, what happened?

There was no response from him, he was sitting like he was paralyzed. Dr. Tressa shook his shoulder lightly and asked again and this time he looked towards her.

Dr. Tressa-: What happened, are you okay, why did you scream?

Aurel( still breathing heavily)-: I don't know but it just… it was….like someo….someone was playing my past in front of me.

Dr. Serene-: Your past, hnn.

It looked like he didn't want to recall his past because it had many painful memories that he was so afraid of it. So, Dr. Tressa gave him medication to help him sleep.

Next morning, 6:37 A.M.

Aurel wake up, it's time. You're already late for your school.

Is it a good dream (he thought to himself). Constant calls woke him up. He woke up and sat down on the bed, it was his training base. Dr. Tressa was by her side waking him up. Tears started coming out of his eyes.

Dr. Tressa (with a confused expression)-: Why….. are you crying?

Aurel-: Just because....( a brief pause), my mother also used to wake me up for school like this, so I just got a bit emotional. I'm sorry.

Dr. Tressa caressed his head and gave a peck on his cheek. It seemed to comfort him.

Dr. Tressa-: Get ready, you need to go to school.

Aurel-: Ah right, did my operation fail. How did tears came out of my eyes.

Dr. Tressa-: No, you had a successful operation. These are your artificial eyes but it has the same nervous system that your eyes consisted. But, it's lot more advanced than your real eyes.

Aurel-: Then what are it's specifications.

Dr. Tressa-: I'll tell you later, now you have to hurry for your school. You're already late.

Aurel-: Ok.

8:37A.M., outside school gate,

Aurel-: What are you doing here?

Irene-: From now onwards I'll also attend this school.

Aurel-: Why this school out of many schools?

Irene-: Major Giant put me here so that it would be convenient for both of us to reach out in times of emergen…..

Aurel-: Wait.

Irene-: What happened?

Come to the backyard of Roseville coffee shop with Irene, take care of the problem there. This was the message.

Aurel-: Come with me, we have to go to Roseville coffee shop. Major has asked us to come. Some problems has arisen.

Dr. Tressa-: Turn on the camera by blinking your eyes thrice.

Aurel-: Ok. I'm turning on the camera. Can you see me?

Irene-: With whom are you talking in the air. Are you crazy?

Aurel-: I'm not crazy. I'm talking with Dr. Tressa through telepathy.

Irene-: Is that one of your ability?

Aurel-: Yes.

Irene-: Why didn't I get it, then?

Aurel-: You didn't deserve it, simple.

Irene-: Ah, this assh***, did he just insult me.

Aurel-: We have reached the destination. What should we do now?

Dr. Tressa-: we have sensed some activity might be going on so carefully look over the area. If you find anything suspicious then report it immediately.

Aurel-: Go in that direction and I'll go in this direction. Report me immediately about any suspicious activity.

They both went searching and after a good 20 minutes Irene called out Aurel.

Aurel-: Did you find something?

Irene-: Look at this. Have you seen something like this before?

Aurel-: We have to inform Major. Take some samples and send it to the lab immediately. I'll look around for something more.

Irene-: Ok, but how do I send it to the lab?

Aurel-: Give it to me.

It was a sticky green liquid, which was scattered in some parts of the backyard. It was not like any acid but it had a unique composition with no smell. he took it from her, drew a loophole with his bare hands and a small portal opened up in the air. He then threw it inside the portal and it just vanished.

Irene-: Hey, what was that and why did you throw it inside it. Are you insane.

Aurel-: Don't overreact. I sent it to Dr. Tressa, it's one of my amazing abilities.

Ah, this fool is now showing off his abilities in front of me. I should just twist his neck.( thinking to herself.)

Aurel-: Now don't just daydream here, we need to reach school, we're late enough. Now hold me.

Irene-: What? Why should I hold you?

Aurel-: Do you want to walk to school now. It'll take you 5-6 mins if you run so it'll be better if we teleport and considering that you don't have that ability you should...

Irene-: Ok, Ok, stop I understand. Now just do it.

(A smirk appeared on his face. It was a sense of satisfaction.)
