Chapter 93 - Offer From Moonlight

ZOOM! A gust of wind had flown out as he threw himself forward, sword in hand and everything, bolts moving with the same he slammed his feet into the ground repeatedly. Over and over again, it seemed like an eternity for him, but in reality, only about one second had passed before the Hunter had made the distance. Expecting a frontal thrust right into his gut, the Swordsman that represented the Moon had turned the whitened blade upright to protect his face, yet he widened his eyes in shock. He'd expected his Hunter enemy would go for likely a shoulder blow so his arm would fall right onto the ground, however, just as the Vampire Swordsman's feet had lifted him into the air- Jason Rivera had vanished into thin air. As if he were never even there in the first place, quirking a brow right over his right eye, the Moon spun right around with quickness. The sharpness of his white katana meeting that of the Justice Hunter's contrasting blood-red weapon letting out a certain SHING! into the air.

Swiftly glancing at the sword for a moment in time, Jay's optics shined, reflecting the shape of the opposite metal of the blade. There was something about the way his enemy reacted so quickly, he didn't have the eye power that his nephew held within those sockets… then what was it?

~There's no doubt that if this guy is blind, he's using his ears to locate me whenever I run across the ground. It's as simple as this: no matter how fast I run, or wherever my feet land, he'll know where I am. Easy, all I have to do is go right for his ears… and you're nothing but a pathetic old blind man flailing around with a sword. Or that's what it seems like, rather~

Kicking the Swordsman right at his knee with immense pressure so the bone would snap backward, the Moon yelled out in agony feeling his joints crack out of place. Spitting out some saliva from the insides of his throat, from the smug look tainting the face of this Hunter, he'd expected the fight to be over. However, things were never this easy, for his leg snapped right back into place, regenerating and replacing the broken bone as it'd never even been hurt in the first place.

Still, however, knowing how he'd lived until now, Jay always predicted these things in the back of his mind. For he was not a fortunate man, and things always seemed to go the wrong way for him, or rather, that's what he'd believed. Their hands moved like instinct, powered and swiftly turning as their blades quickly and rapidly met time and time again, side slashes, downward slashes coming from above. Their arms continually moving at ridiculous breakneck speeds- the singing of metal continuously entering the air as the katanas met time and time again came,

"Do you truly think… any of this will amount to anything in the end?! I am one of the chosen ones, my little brother is the sixth Holy King of the Incarnations! He's the one who'll end it all, no doubt about it, and I'd hate to lose such a valuable enemy- RAGH!"

Letting out a war cry as he yanked the Ketsueki back without hesitation, he ducked over a sideways slash aimed for his jaw, then going for a simple thrust right through the chest for the Moon. Using his leg to kick the metallic weapon from out its intended destination, Rivera couldn't help but giggle at the sight of such impressive skills, his hand that wielded the katana flying over to the right seeing as he was tightening his grip on the blade with the opposite of that.

Unable to withhold the impressed laughter he held within his throat, the Hunter of Justice watched as his left arm was thrown back from the kick to the butt of Ketsueki. Feeling some of his bones snap right out of place from the hit, his eyes snapped back to check what attack the Moon Swordsman was going for next. Just as expected, after slamming his foot right onto the ground once more to tighten his stance, it was another thrust forward, aimed behind his ribs and into his heart.

~He must have heard… that I was a vampire, and is trying to go for my heart instantly. To end this. The color of his eyes along with the blade, his speed, precision, and strength, it's likely enhanced by the night itself. I see, well then- this will be rather difficult, won't it..?~

Jason leaped back into the air, pushing the sword right into the cover so the sheath would gently rattle as it was attached to his hip. That glare in his eyes reflecting the Third Moon, the second his soles had touched against the ground below, he slammed his palm against the floor. A wave of lightning came crashing right ahead as the electricity the Hunter manipulated throughout his body was extended out from his insides, hardened, and made physical for some of the bolts to come speeding right ahead at the Swordsman.

While this wasn't even the main technique, Jason watched as the Moon slowly slid and danced around the incoming projectiles, it was like a ballet dancer staying on the tips of their toes. Like the elegant flow of chilly air in the soothing springtime, he effortlessly moved between the chaotic tendrils of energy, barely singing at some of his skin. Jason's pupil shrinking as he expanded his eyes shape to a larger degree, slit to mimic the feline's visual optics.

"Warrior Centaur; BULL!"

Cried out the red-eyed Raven-haired brother of the Emperor, the edges of his smirk lengthening to maybe even reach to his ears from the way he appeared. Teeth showing, veins popping out from every single possible corner of his face, as he hid his face with his right palm, fingers sliding over his features, through the cracks of his extremities, his optics visible. Nails extending then sharpening to the point of acting as though they were claws, he felt them sink into his tanned skin, hair suddenly shocking, electricity flowing through each of his darkened strands… for the beast sparking and crackling with that energy to manifest, appearing from the back of Jason's head. However, the centaur didn't have the top half of a human as they were supposed to, it was that of a bull with the lower half of a horse's hooves and powerful legs.

Exhaling out powerfully to let out one of this animal's signature snorts, the Moon didn't even show any sign of fear, instead, he heard the signing of metal as Jason unveiled his katana yet again. This time with a newly created ally right by his side, wielding their large sword but this time, given with a shield as well. All Jay had to say now was,

"Let's see… how you fair against this,"

Meanwhile, to the back of the Moon Swordsman, Madi had been defending against an invisible foe, her arms in the air. Every so often, a punch tapping against her limb so one of her bones would break before she snapped it right back into place with a usual POP! Eyes darting from side to side at a rapid rate, she attempted to utilize the light from the moon to search through everything, steadying her breathing. Chest rising then falling at a gradual rate, eyelids shutting over those purple pupils…

'Peace of Mind technique. Requiem Virus: Spirit Aura,"

From the pattern of this unknown's movements, she could tell that they were hitting her randomly, but with enough force to kill her if they were given the right chance to do it in the correct spot. For all she knew, this one was blind as well, and relying on their fists to randomly hit one of her vitals. They seemed so confident in their ability seeing as how some of her bones had easily been snapped apart from just passing by punch, so she had to be the one to break down that confidence and tear this asshole apart with her own hands.

WARP-BOOM! As the knuckles of the unknown perpetrator cracked against the energy barrier that served as Madisyn's dark violet aura, they were thrown back. Kinetic energy unleashing a shockwave for some of their ribs to compress against that ever-expanding force field she unleashed, just then, she turned her head so the tortuous gleam in the center of her eyes would burn the soul of the shadowed attacker.

Attempting to jump away yet again, a whip entirely made of plasma had ensnared his ankle, their back was slammed right down onto the ground so some of the rubble would fly into the air. Vision turning blurry for a second, they grabbed onto the ground turning their back to the ceiling so they could use something to help their ascension. Rubbing their forehead, they realized that the visor covering their eyes had been cracked, shards of this reflective surface scattered across the ground to his left… Just then, they realized that their opponent was no mere mortal to be trifled with.

A beam of plasma was heading right for them from behind, but the second their head had spun around, the energy was missing. Gasping in surprise, they stood upright quickly, tripping for just a second before getting back into position. Whimpering in fear for what was to come, their eyes continuously darting around to search for their enemy, yet unbeknownst to them, Madi had been up in the very rafters where the Moon Samurai had been, where he was now battling against her older brother. Seeing as how she was busy with this one, she would've helped and they likely would've easily killed the Samurai, however… something was off about the other.

The way their head was frantically spinning continuously, drawing their shaking fists, the Empress could tell that this wasn't a true ambush,

"Stand down your weapons, Jason… uh, other Samurai guy! I'll kill you both if you don't cut the shit right here!"

The Hunter turned his head up to the skies, the centaur-bull amalgamation made of lightning had charged right ahead at the samurai with their shield. Sliding right between their legs to dodge the incoming attack, the centaur had immediately gone for a slicing attack from behind, intended to cut right across so his face would slice in two.

"JASON!"

Before he could get his head cut off, he rolled his eyes, moaning like an irritated child being sent to their room or denied something they want, Jason reluctantly complied after being yelled at by his YOUNGER sister. The creature he'd made of the electricity and lightning that flowed through his veins had vanished, and the Moon Third had ceased their attacks, for they had assumed a seated position. Showing only their upper legs, they clench their fists and put them on his lap, Madi's shoes touching against the floor as she lands between her sibling and the Samurai.

"Why have you come? You knew he'd kick that kunai out of the way, either you wanted to look cool or you were testing us,"

The ally of the Samurai had come to his aid, grabbing him by his arm so he could stand up slowly, he cleared his throat for a second. Exhaling sharply, Jason carefully withdrew his sword back into the sheath attached to his hip, taking it off so he could hold it in his right hand, awaiting their response. Just then, with both of them together, they knelt and bowed their heads to the feet of the Hunter and Empress, causing the siblings to widen their eyes in shock. The Samurai kept that still posture and attitude about his aura continually, he had to take his hands to push his ally's head down as well, both of them bowing to the Riveras in front of them. The Moon Swordsman stating,

"After the birth of Acheron and the new capital of the world had emerged following the fusion between Heaven with Hell, the Shogun took interest in how the world had changed drastically. We had one of our spies report back from inside of the Hawk's Kingdom, his name was Julian, the Phoenix of Life, and he informed us of the way that your brother has transformed into the Sixth Holy King. He's the key.. to end this nightmare. If we can find a way to harness his dormant powers, we can create an army of Requiems and fight against the demons and angels-"

"Yeah yeah yeah, cut the long monologue bullshit. The hell're you tryin' to say in the first damn place?"

That blunt inquiry from the Hunter after he'd sheathed his well-known katana had sent a sudden shiver down the spine of the right subordinate to the Samurai, he who used the moon as a source of power. Madi didn't even bother giving her brother another glare like she were their mother, instead, she glanced at his face, the eyes he held shaking at the sight of these pitiful things kneeling before them. For the first time in forever, he didn't have his familiar smirk right over his lips that he usually donned, veins were popping out from the inner workings of his demonic-vampiric blood to become visible over the corners of his face. He didn't dare make another sound, for the time being, the one on the right had seemed to be a pure soul, if he slaughtered them, there was no doubt his sister would retaliate.

Turning his head upright, some of the strands slicked back with gel falling out from their battle's swift aftermath, with the clashing of katanas; all that. Staring into the eyes of the Justice Hunter to the side of the Light-Manipulating Empress, he parted his lips to make an offer, vocals calm and soft,

"How would you like... a residence at the Samurai-Shinobi Empire?"
