"David!" Brook clenched his teeth when he saw him lying on the floor.
David's fall caused his health to go down by 29 both from the crash and the damage done by the nymph. He was struggling to get up as he gripped the soil of the land he was on. The hydriad kept the water coming, making David suffer from the constant waves it produced.
"Kill the hamadryad first," he responded. "I can keep up with this annoying wet creature."
"Be careful, they can shapeshift."
Brook used his sword to move forward to the hamadryad that jumped down. He avoided most of the attacks of the creature, yet he still couldn't get as near as possible. He rushed forward and activated a skill.
Forward Charge!
The hamadryad was stunned for a second while Brook activated another skill.
Triple Strike!
-6!
-7!
-15!
Once again, Brook found himself in an uncomfortable situation. The hamadryad had gone back up to the tree. Legends indicate that hamadryads live with the tree and dies with the tree. Using this knowledge, he observed the movements of the dryad and remained vigilant for any incoming attacks. He was planning on finding the tree and kill its source.
The hamadryad lunged itself to Brook, who was taken aback by the sudden interruption in his thoughts. He parried with his sword and thrusted it into the body of the dryad.
-10!
Leaping up from its place, the hamadryad used its momentum to control another tree and attack him. The branches of the tree that the creature controlled were smashed onto the ground several times, aiming for Brook had been avoiding it all the ime.
Still deep in his thoughts trying to locate the tree that the hamadryad occupied, he eventually took high damage from the tree's attacks. His peaceful state was now torn into pieces as he saw the dryad jump down from the tree.
"Fuck! Where is this goddamn tree?"
While cussing out some words, he gripped the handle of the sword and smited the arriving dryad.
Forward Charge! Merlin's Touch!
-33!
He had slashed the right leg of the stunned dryad after activating the skill. Although he had been successful, the dryad's right leg came back despite the damage taking over.
He was tackled by the dryad and got his torso exposed, leaving him vulnerable to attacks. His armor started wearing down from the countless confrontations he had with the creature.
After fixing himself, he went on to slash and hack the dryad more. He was successful for a moment, but the dryad regenerated when he got back up on a certain tree that caused him to realize that this was the tree he was looking for.
The hamadryad and its tree were full of confidence, not expecting for Brook to know their weakness. It had been careless of a long time now considering the amount of battle he had won consecutively against other humans and nymphs alike.
Merlin's Touch!
With his artifact, despite its features and additional damage being locked, it was still sharper than most swords, and thus the bark of the tree had been cut by a sixteenth. Based on its expression, it was clearly hurt from the damage Brook just inflicted earlier. It quickly went down and released several attacks to him, making him get as far away as possible to its tree.
"You're pathetic," Brook said. "Killing your own for a human."
The hamadryad got enraged and responded, "Aren't you humans the same? Killing each other for money and power?"
"At least, we don't do it for outsiders."
His skills cooldown's reset was up and activated Unyielding Spirit to remove the slow debuff the hamadryad inflicted. The dryad took a second to contemplate, making him stop. He got enraged and assaulted Brook that was ready to parry.
The hamadryad was low in health, as usual, he went back up to the tree to regenerate health. This became a chance for Brook to finally kill this creature once and for all. He tried slashing it a few times, leaving sword marks all over the tree. He struggled hard as time was of utmost importance to this situation.
Finally noticing that slicing it wouldn't work as he had believed it earlier. He stabbed it directly in the trunk and his sword passed through the other side. The hamadryad started losing his life force and fell onto the ground. His body disintegrated after being slayed by Brook.
