Tokyo= is the capital and financial hub of most of Japan's big Industries including a lot of record companies.
Harajuku station Japan= is a train station in Japan that for some reason became the central hub for a lot of alternative fashion and Kawaii culture.
Tokyo red-light district= historically the place where people would go to meet prostitutes but in the modern-day also serves an alternative fashion and lifestyle purpose for many individuals.
Tokyo fashion and shopping district= most of the big cities in Japan are separated into districts based on what they have there and the same is true for Tokyo they have entire sections of the city just dedicated to going shopping!
Tokyo anime district= is it the same as the shopping district only specializes in anime.
NEETS= is generally considered an offensive term that is mostly used by Japanese to refer to people that are unemployed and not a student basically claiming that people like that are lazy despite what financial state that individual might be in because of most members of Japanese Society value productivity.
Otaku= is a person either Japanese or non-japanese that has an extensive love for anime and manga related merchandise.
Japanese schools are generally considered the best in the world but are they really?= generally, when people think about Japanese schools that usually think that they are some of the best schools which academically is true however their school system does have a lot of problems related to mental health and conformity, in fact, it wasn't too long ago that a student in a school had to sue to not be forced to dye her hair black because her natural hair color was considered too unusual and distracting! And for many people of Japanese descent, the idea of what should be reformed and what should stay about Japanese schools has continuously been an ongoing controversial debate.
Suicide is sometimes normalized by Society= as sad as it is there are a lot of countries like Japan, China, India, and Russia where suicide is sometimes normalized or even expected by some members of society it's a very toxic Behavior but it still exists and it plays Major roles and a lot of political and moral decisions people make.
Sexism and LGBT rights are not equal everywhere= for those of you that think pride month is ridiculous you'd be surprised that not everywhere has a pride month or even is allowed to have pride parades in some countries you can be killed for having a different opinion or lifestyle and someone else and even in countries where it is advancing like Japan there is still a quality problem especially for women and LGBT people, for example, gay couples still do not have the right to get married in Japan and it is still legal in many Japanese businesses to force women to wear high heels against their will despite all the injuries that it can cause to some individuals so ya.
The young versus the old= in a lot of East Asian countries like Japan and Korea there is a Great Divide over the ways of the old generation and the ways of the new generation and sometimes this can create problems for society at large and the disconnect between people and their children and especially in a society that to some extent has been taught to Value productivity and the welfare of one's company and family over one's own welfare.
All of these conditions both good and bad are some of the reasons that rock and roll and visual Kei have spread so well in Japan and one of the reasons they're held so highly because for so many it is a way of escape and a way of self-expression that before never really existed! And it is expressed in more than just the music but also in the fashion and the style of visual Kei and Kawaii culture! So ya the more know!
