If you only saw yourself through kinder eyes.....
Sebastian wore a shirt and rushed to see who's there.
"It's your mother, sir" a maid said to him.
"Leave us" Sebastian went over to the door with a shocked face on "Mom what are you doing here ?!"
A grey haired woman in her late fifties with sunglasses on stood in front of him.
She gently removed the shades and looked at her son. "I heard some news about you". She spoke with a soothing breathy voice
"You always hear news about me what's new! Why are you here, mom ?"
"Are we going to talk here ?"
"I'm sorry" Sebastian mumbled as he stepped aside to let his mother in. "Welcome, again"
His mother shot him a look before stepping in. She looked around the house as if it was her first time walking in.
"You'll conduct your checkup later, now, would you like to drink anything"
Wayne got down and his face lit up once he saw Sebastian's mother.
"Mary !"
Mary looked at him briefly before turning her gaze to Sebastian again.
"Who's June ?"
Sebastian watched Wayne step back.
"Not like that, Mary" Wayne said as he tilted his head at the stylish woman. "I have to leave there's stuff I got to do"
"Wait until I catch you, Wayne" he sighed, "Mom, she's not someone I know"
Mary narrowed her eyes, " yes you do and you know clearly she's the one that made you neglect your work and life"
"Ok now you're exaggerating"
She ran a hand through her hair letting a deep sigh. "if you can't take care of it be sure I will"
"Don't do anything to her, mom. Please don't do anything stupid"
"And don't tell me what to do"
June took a deep breath. The balcony was spacious and the sky seemed limitless but she still felt tightness in chest.
She liked to stay alone but she always wanted to have someone beside her. She was too dependent on her aunt that now she's gone she can't lull or ignore her pain.
She placed her hand on her chest. Her heart felt heavy. She was trapped. If only things were different. If only she could change the way things are. If only she could change her past, her present and anticipate a better future with someone she loves. If only she could learn forgiveness.
If only.....
She placed her hands on the wrought iron and tightened her grip around it. She unclench her jaw and let herself enjoy the seemingly short breeze of air.
Spring was coming to an end. Time for the true burn.
