Chapter 48 - Bait

"I don't care if you hate me. Right now, I only want one thing." Aiden unbuttoned his shirt from top to bottom while stepping toward Katie.

Katie increasingly panicked to see him and immediately strike the man with pointing the pen she was holding toward Aiden's body. At first, Aiden was shocked by her advance but managed to dodge and curl one of Katie's hands behind Katie's back. At the same time, Aiden pressed Katie's body against the wall roughly.

Katie did not give up so easily. She raised one foot and pressed the wall with all her strength pushed her body and Aiden's backward. Once her hands were free, Katie clenched her fists and punched Aiden's stomach as taught by her Umbra.

Fortunately, Katie had been trained to defend herself just in case if she met a thug or a man trying to assault her. There was a slight relief to realize that Aiden had not moved after receiving a punch from her hand.

Without wasting any more time, Katie quickly ran toward the door to escape. After this, she will never want to see Aiden again.

But her steps stopped once the door opened. Instead of going forward out of the room, Katie's feet stepped back, and she shivered in horror when she heard Aiden's evil laughter. Is that guy just pretending to faint?

Not to mention, there were four burly men stepped inside, blocking her escape route.

That's why she could not run away. Katie could not step out of this room because the four men were preventing her from escaping.

"Very interesting. I didn't expect a weak girl like you to learn martial arts, huh? Bad for you, you're no match to me. Do you think your punch can just topple me?"

"Why are you doing this? What have I done to make you do this to me?"

"You haven't done anything, young lady. It's just that you coincidentally got involved in my plan. You're the only one who can lure her out without making her protector suspicious."

Lure her out? Who is she? Why this man wanted her to be his bait? Then Katie realized something, and she became furious. Does that mean Aiden kidnapped her to make her a bait?!

"I thought that if you want to sleep with me, I will use another method. Besides, I quite like you. But it's a pity... I no longer want you. I treat you very well, but you hurt me instead. Ckckck. I need to punish you." Aiden smiled crookedly in his last sentence. "She belongs to you guys. Enjoy the night."

Chills run down to her spine as the men probing her body with lust look. Katie's eyes filled with tears, and then subconsciously called out the man's name.

"Aiden, please, let me go." sobbed Katie in a heartbreaking voice. Even Katie hated herself for still expecting mercy from that person.

But, there was no one she could count on. She only relied on her friendship with Aiden. She solely relied on her memories, where Aiden always smiled kindly and was still sweet towards her.

"Don't worry. I won't let them kill you. You are my precious bait after all." said Aiden in a cheerful tone, but a cold look was undeniable in his eyes.

Katie really hoped there was a kindness to the evil man, yet it was useless. Aiden was no human. He was a devil in human flesh. Her optimism vanished as soon as Aiden came out and locked the door from the outside.

Katie was rooted to where she stood. She still couldn't believe she almost gave her heart to that jerk. She still could not believe she stupidly lowered her defenses and let the man trap her.

Katie's heart ached. By the time she had finished burying a new feeling for the red-haired boy when she wanted to try to love Aiden, the man mercilessly betrayed her. The vile man threw her into the clutches of his four men.

Hate.

There was a feeling of hatred that was very strong in her. Katie had not felt this much emotion for a long time.

And when she felt her waist being grabbed by one of these disgusting people, Katie was out of control.

She used all the techniques her Umbra had taught her to beat the four men. Katie did not stop rebelling and beating the four. Katie also used her long nails to scratch their faces, which made them even angrier.

If there were only one opponent, Katie might have won. But, there were four assailants. Not to mention, she felt increasingly helpless as they pulled out a small knife in their pants pockets.

They tried to touch her, grab her as Katie continued to rebel, kicking them. Until finally, they hurt Katie with their knife.

It hurt... like a lot.

That was what Katie felt. The hands, neck, elbows, and parts of her body affected by the knife incision were very painful to the point she wanted to scream as the bear growled in pain.
