Chapter 33 - Two Crucial Things

Katie slowly nodded her head and was ready to listen to Charlie's explanation.

"There are two things you must consider before you decide to seal your power," Charlie revealed the risks she had to face.

"The first one, once the sealing is complete, your power will gather into one, and there is a barrier that surrounds it like an orb. If you are angry, sad, or happy, nature will no longer react, and the sphere will not break. Your orb is unbreakable that you don't have to worry that the environment will respond according to your mood no matter how angry you are."

Hearing this, Katie's eyes glowed and impatiently sealed her power.

"The orb is unbreakable, but it doesn't mean it cannot break. It will break when you experience danger, or strong emotions emerge inside your heart. Once the sphere breaks, you return to being the 'Red Queen,' and you cannot seal it back. Sealing could only happen once in a lifetime. And one more thing," Charlie took a deep breath. "You only have twelve years left before your heart finally stops beating. And your age will get shorter if you often use your power to control the weather. You won't be able to live long in this world."

Katie gripped her cloth, not expecting to hear the terrible consequences if her seal was broken.

"Don't worry. Here in America, there will be no danger of being able to break your sealed power. Well, maybe you should avoid the desolate streets or the mafia you encounter. Your Umbra will protect you. You're safer here than in that place. So you don't need to worry."

Katie heaved a sigh of relief, hearing that.

"Well, I understand. Then what is the second one?"

"Before I wanted to ask you. Do you like winter?"

Katie's forehead frowned at the word 'winter.' How could she like it? She really hated it.

"No. I hate it. Every time winter comes, my body gets sick, my voice disappears, and my lips turn blue. My mom once said my heart was beating very weak and almost die when I was a child."

"Well, you won't die. Maybe you will be in a coma during winter if they can't make your body warm."

"What does it mean?"

"Cold temperatures are a fatal weakness of the 'Red Queen.' She could not use her strength or voice if her body's temperature was dropped."

Katie's mouth formed the letter 'A' sign of understanding.

"Therefore, the sealing ritual will be carried out on snowy mountains at least minus ten degrees. And also you cannot wear a jacket or light a fire while there. There must not be a single heater around you."

Katie's expression turned to horror upon hearing that.

"Then you will see the form of your life energy. As soon as you see it, pull them all together and gather them together. Automatically, a barrier will bind them, and then it will be shaped like a sphere. But you must unite them before your heart freezes and stops beating."

"As you can see, doing this ritual is far more dangerous than the broken seal. If you are taken away in the middle of sealing, you will die. But if you fail to unite all the energy before your heart freezes, you will also die. Failure is not an option, and you must succeed once the sealing process begins. After knowing this risk, do you still want to seal your power?"

"..." Katie was speechless. Hearing that she had to go to a snowy mountain had scared her to death, not to mention the risk she had to face if she failed.

What should she do? Does she dare to try it?

If she had to choose between living as the 'Red Queen' or dying for failing to seal her power... it seems like she would rather die.

"Katleen. I know you feel death is the best solution. I know because all the red kings also have similar feelings. But try to remember those who sincerely love you. Both your parents, your Umbra. What will happen to them if you left this world? Imagine how sad they would be if they had to lose you."

Katie looked down at what Charlie had said. At first, she was amazed how Charlie could understand her mood while the two of them had just met today. But hearing this sentence seems like everyone who was once the 'Red King' also had the same dilemma.

Die was the best option, but she didn't want to make her beloved ones sad. At the same time, she didn't want to hurt her friends, let alone her family.

Katie didn't want anyone to get hurt because of her; hence she wanted to be a normal girl.

Katie looked up and looked straight at Charlie. The look in her eyes showed an unwavering gaze. She had made her mind.
