Unstrapped and grabbing my things, the ramp opened. Outside were more Parabellum staff, some stopped to check on the mercenaries. One of them approached me, a man, one that looked a few years older than me.
"Bandages, heavily coated in blood. We'll bring you and your team to the clinic. The cargo will be handled by the staff. Follow me." The doctor turned around and walked away, I followed behind him, along with the others, all following their own doctors. We all entered the elevator. With my helmet off I can smell the pungent scent of blood, dirt, leaves, and the normal odor of the elevator.
The doors opened to the clinic floor, the door was in front of us. The doctors stepped outside, one of them kept it open for us while we entered.
My doctor led me to a room, also keeping the door open for me. Inside, an empty room with medical devices and tools. All the same things as the guy i talked to before.
"Put your things and armor on that empty table." The doctor asked. I placed what i had on the empty table next to me.
"Take a seat on the bed." I sat on the side of the bed, the doctor pulled a chair and faced me.
"I'll remove the bandage on your arms first, is that ok?" I nodded. The doctor began unwrapping it. His face turned to shock after fully taking it off.
"The wound is fully healed already. Almost looks like there wasn't even a wound." The doctor began taking off the other bandages, his face turned to astonishment.
"All I see here is dried blood and holes in the clothes. Your wounds heal surprisingly, interesting. Do you feel pain in any other part of your body?" The doctor asked, still shocked.
"Not much anymore." I replied, the doctor promptly nodded. The doctor began moving around me, examining.
"I'll just run a few basic tests to see if you're doing well internally." He said.
Few minutes passed as the doctor performed quick tests on me, from heart rate to using the medical devices of the room.
"You show little to no signs of injury. You do heal fast. Interesting. Since you have no injuries, you can either wait for your other teammates or go back to your quarters. But you may now leave this room." I stood up and exited the room with my belongings. None of my teammates were outside, probably getting treated or having tests ran on them. It would be better to wait for them outside.
Stepping outside i leaned against a wall, waiting for my friends or teammates to step out.
Not long after, Luna stepped out, also carrying her armor and belonging with her hands.
"Luna" I greeted as she stepped out.
"Hello." She replied in a cold tone.
"We finished that mission rather unexpectedly." I attempted to strike up a conversation with Luna. Her face kept staring blankly to the front, not turning.
"Yeah....We did." She replied. The conversation quickly became awkward, in the end, i didn't continue the conversation.
A long period of silence followed while we waited.
"You know," She spoke. "You've performed really well with us. Though we didn't converse much, you did show your skill in fighting alongside us, taking hits and still staying in the fight. You have endurance." She continued.
A doctor stepped outside the door, turning to the both of us.
"Your teammates will have to stay longer than expected, perhaps a few hours to a day with their wounds." He explained.
"How's Sebastian, he's in this clinic correct?" Luna questioned.
"Yes, he though may need to stay for longer, his wounds are more severe than the others. For now you can go back to your quarters." Finishing, he walked back in. Luna headed for the elevator while i walked behind her.
Inside, we awaited till it reached the quarters floor. That was probably the longest time Luna said something to me.
The door opened, with no delay we started heading for the quarters. The hall only had a few mercenaries walking by.
Back home in the quarters, I prepared for my tasks, wash the armor and clothes then my weapons. Then probably get a shower. I headed to the armory, putting my weapons on the table i began setting my armor on the stand. After placing it all, I began the wash. I pulled one of the drawers open, revealing cleaning tools for my weapons. Organizing my weapons on the table, it was time to begin.
Still in my shirt and pants i continued cleaning my weapons, from the inside to the outside. Once done, i set them back on their cabinets, ready to be used again. Lastly now are my clothes.
Time flew by while I did my last tasks, finishing up with my shower, I took my clothes, now cleaned and dried and looking brand new, without a single hole in them like before. Putting them back on, i was now finished with my tasks. A second look in the armory and my armor was already finished cleaning, now rid of blood and dirt. Heading to bed I remembered what Luna said, I had endurance in combat and kept fighting alongside them, mostly shocked that she talked that long to me, ever since I joined it was rare for her to talk. Whenever she did talk she would just speak a few words.
Now finished, I lied down on the bed, feeling the immense exhaustion on me, quickly embracing the comforts of the bed. Wonder what would happen tomorrow? Another mission or a day of relaxation I wonder, the strategist or the doctor would probably talk to me after this mission since they didn't show up earlier. Whatever happens tomorrow though, I helped my team complete the recovery mission, albeit in a different way I wasn't expecting. As I stayed in bed longer, my consciousness drifted off into slumber.
Today ends and tomorrow begins.
