The smoke dissipated.....Just like the drones....It was gone, leaving no residue of it's destroyed body.
No scrap metal on the dirt from the vehicle, as if it was never here in the first place. Leaving a small hole cast in black.
One of the bodies started to slowly rise up, groaning in pain as he did. In an instant, the man fell flat onto the snow. Nora, behind me, lowered her rifle, with it's barrel smoking.
I approached the corpse, his face was covered in blood, he looked young.
Luna and Nora advanced to the other corpses lying on the ground, shooting their bodies a second time while they passed by each corpse.
I walked right behind them, they continued putting bullets into the corpses, with little regard if they're dead or alive.
At last, we reached the vehicles.
"Looks like pickup trucks." Nora commented.
The wreckages kept on burning, with more bodies next to em.
Nora and Luna continued gunning down the corpses in sight, so many bodies lay dead before me.
Looking at the other corpses, men and women, also young in appearance to older.
"Alright, we gotta head back inside the ship now to wait and return the launchers. Head back now." Sebastian announced.
We turn back, walking to the ship passing bodies drenched in blood.
Thoughts of the picture rushed back into my mind as we returned, the photo i saw on the corpse as well as the young faces of these dead insurgents. Those insurgents may not only have had families, but they looked young as well, maybe coerced into doing this. And we killed them, they could have worked with us or joined to be a citizen of Shoravik, if they are from here.
"Also bring back the launchers you used along with the ammo boxes, if you could, the magazines you used up as well." Sebastian said.
I grabbed the launcher, it's ammo box, almost empty, i scooped up the empty magazines, placing them inside the box to make it easier.
Inside, i placed the ammo box and launcher on the ground.
We dropped our empty magazines or launchers down as well.
"The pilot is about 2 hours away, we'll take the ammunition you got, so we can re use it back at the academy." 3 people grabbed the launchers from the ground, walking away.
"For now, we can rest, but keep your guard, better to have patrols circling the area." The strategist added.
After his quick talk, he walked away.
"For now let's rest. Then we'll take shifts in circling the ship." Stephen suggested.
"Alright then, everyone sit down on the seats for awhile, then i'll say who starts patrolling." Sebastian said, completing the plan for what to do while we wait.
I sat down on the chair, breathing a huge sigh of relief after the battle, facing the broken, hole ridden wall of this ship.
It was done, the the defense we attempted was successful.
Alina sat on the ground alongside Mary, she was injured in her arm, Alina tended to her as best as she could with whatever medical supplies were lying around in this ship.
it's been minutes of staring, thinking, and waiting for the ship to arrive.
"Lennox, you circle the ship first and we'll call you back for the next one to patrol." Sebastian spoke.
Lennox, weapon in hand, exited the ship.
