After purchasing the ap-8 I browsed possible attachments for my new pistol. The categories had more pages than before, now reaching to more than 10 pages. Before I started to get attachments, I walked out to get my new pistol. Outside, the living room was again empty with not a single soul in sight. I got to the small square box where all attachments and weapons go into. Opening it I saw my newly bought ap-8 pistol, holding it in my hand it felt as if it was newly made. This pistol feels better used when things go loud. I return to the armory and grabbed the tablet. Let's see, small sights, a longer magazine, laser sight, and maybe a new barrel with porting. I wonder why they don't just let us have a custom ported barrel before buying it.
After 10 minutes of browsing I finished purchasing the best attachments for my new pistol all added to cart before purchase. The noise of something moving against metal above me followed until it abruptly ended.
Heading outside again I went to the small square box to get my order. I pulled out a small container with the pistol attachments I wanted.
Back inside the armory I worked on the ap-8 pistol, placing and replacing parts of it.
After some time I finally finished my new pistol, outfitted with a new flash hider, a laser/flashlight modification, a 30 round magazine, a new ported barrel that is a little longer than the stock barrel, and a small square red dot sight for my pistol. Looks far better than before. Now for a new rifle, maybe a marksman one for longer range.
For the last purchase for this time being, I searched for a marksman rifle. The store showed a variety of selection from different weapon companies. One though caught my eye, the marker-90, the description read: "A new rifle born out of the bright minds of the Stable Shot arms company, this rifle is outfitted with a more comfortable stock, a new caliber that allows it's user to shoot farther than older rifles and also has the ability to pierce armor, and a barrel outfitted with a stock muzzle brake." not a ported barrel but a stock muzzle brake is still good. I purchased the weapon, as I tapped the purchase button, muffled metallic noises above me began until it ceased as the noise moved towards the outside of my armory, until the sound stopped. I walked out of the armory again to retrieve my new marksman rifle. Opening the square door, my rifle rested on the side, it's barrel pointing up and leaning to the side. I quickly took it out of the box then waked back to the armory. I grabbed the tablet and placed the rifle on the desk in front of me, since this weapon already has a stock muzzle brake, its best i don't buy a muzzle brake for now. I should buy a longer magazine, a laser sight, and a scope with more magnification, I began browsing for the attachments I wanted, different variants of each attachment being shown to me, so much products being sold to us mercenaries, they must be profiting so much from this.
I finished adding the attachments I want to cart and pressed purchase. Looking at my balance I was left with 3.7 million. Walking out of the armory it seemed as if the sound of the muffled metal noise followed me to the outside. For the last time today, I opened the box and took out the container holding my attachments. going back inside my armory I quickly went to work, putting the laser, scope, and other attachments.
Finally I finished modifying my new weapons to my liking, I suppose it's time to head to the armory and test my skill with these things. Looking at the empty cabinets I realized, the rack next to my assault rifle now has magazines. The size of the magazine I recently bought as well. Hmm quite convenient, automation these days is making even our lives faster. Speaking of magazines, i need to bring magazines to the range as well. Maybe I can use my vest or belt to carry it, looking at where my armor stand stays, my armor was still cleaning. What can bring bags in this place. Maybe i can ask someone, as I thought of it. The sound of the door outside caught my attention. I walked outside leaving my weapons on the desk.
As I open my quarters door, outside was Sebastian walking.
"Hey Sebastian."
"Yeah what is it?"
"Do you know what i can use to bring ammo with me to the gun range?"
"Why? is your gear still in the wash?"
"Yeah, still washing."
"Hmm, have you checked the drawers on your desk? There's a drawer that holds bags. Maybe you can bring it to the range." Sebastian explained.
"Oh, thanks Sebastian."
"Anytime Damon." Sebastian starts walking again, presumably to his quarters.
"Oh wait Sebastian."
"Hm?" Sebastian stopped again looking at me.
"What floor is the gun range?"
"Oh floor 5."
"Alright Sebastian, thanks." Sebastian nods his head and walks off again.
In one of the drawers huh, I walked back to the armory and started rummaging through the drawers, most of which carried tools for gunsmithing.
After opening most of the drawers I found the drawer that carried the bags, the drawer was wider than the rest. I pulled out one bag and closed the drawer. The bag seems to open and close with a zipper. With the bag i placed multiple magazines for the ap-8 pistol as well as the marksman rifle's magazines. To make walking easier and safer I removed the mags of my 2 weapons and placed them inside. Should i also bring my assault rifle and other weapons? Looking at the bag, it doesn't seem to fit extra weapons in it. I zip the bag shut, rest the strap on my shoulder and finally go out to the gun range.
Outside my room i see Thalia drinking water, she waved at me as i walked to the exit.
"Where are you going?"
"To the gun range."
"Oh, to boost your skill in shooting?"
"Yeah."
"Alright, good luck then."
"Thanks." I finally exit my team's room, outside. Small groups of mercenaries walked around chatting with each other. Gotta head to the elevator now, making my there. As I kept walking, the groups of mercenaries started to show up more frequently, walking to both directions of the long hallway. Probably also heard about the new restriction and are also affected by it.
I got to the elevator, with a tap of a button the doors swing open. Inside I go, which floor again? Oh right 5. On the pad it showed buttons, buttons to different floors of the facility. I tapped 5 and the doors close shut, beginning it's ascent. As it goes up, I think of my new weapons, especially their attachments. The store showed many brands of attachments and weapons, seems like arms trade is huge thanks to us, I wonder if that's a good thing or it isn't. Companies gaining profit from infighting of nations. But for as long as I lived, war was a normal thing to witness in this place. From small infighting to city wide wars, started either by the local terrorist forces, or stronger foreign organizations. Though I still yearn to fight the empire beyond the sea. As I am consumed by my thoughts I didn't realize that I was already at the shooting range floor. The place was packed with mercenaries just like me roaming around the facility, either going to vacant shooting slots or leaving. Looking around I manage to find one vacant slot, to not let anyone get there first i speedily moved to the vacant slot. Standing there I began unzipping the bag, grabbing my new marksman rifle along with a magazine. With a simple push into the magwell, and a quick cock. The rifle is now ready to shoot. I rested the open bag on the floor next to me in this small, cramped shooting slot. With the scope I pinpoint the target in front of me. Focusing my aim and holding my breath I fired. An empty bullet casing fell as the end of the barrel smoked, looking back in my scope. I hit the center, this gun is quite accurate. Now lets try it on a farther target. 150 meters seems to be a good range, with a simple pull on the trigger with my sights aimed at it another round travelled out of the rifle. Looking through the scope again. It perfectly hit it's mark. I continued firing on the same target, rarely did the rifle miss, but the grouping still stayed near to the main target. After firing in rapid succession, the magazine became empty. Perhaps I should continue firing, this time on farther distances, farther than 150. Maybe 300 or more meters. I removed the empty mag, throwing it into the bag and pulling out a new fully loaded magazine. Today is a good day.
