As if a great thorn was just lodged in the dry flesh of her throat, Haniel breathed a long sigh of exasperation. She knew that she didn't have the ability to fend off one of the monsters' attacks. That's the reason why she opted to reinforce the strength of the barrier. She even had the second to spare to bestow several layers of shields on the bodies of her companions for additional protection.
However, the moment that she saw the amount of mana that the monster was able to generate in an instant, she lost all hope of being able to save herself, much more her comrades, in the ordeal. It was a volume of mana that she had yet to observe to be exploited in one attack.
