Again, the Empress responded as if the matter wasn't something to be agonizing over. Her voice was as calm as it could be, soothing as if it was a melody created by the most amicable Angels. It was as if she wanted her words to be taken as a poor attempt at foolery. But because of their circumstances, it carried more truth than the fact that the knights were unsatisfied with their performance.
Haniel knew better than to disregard what the Empress had just said, even if Her Highness didn't yearn to talk about it. There was no way that the Duchess would doubt the Empress. The latter didn't seem to be the sort who would make inappropriate remarks in their current situation. Furthermore, if there was anyone who was sentient of what mattered the most, it would be the Empress who had encountered the Demon Nobles ahead of everybody else. Her value as the best source of intelligence was beyond that of being a monarch.
