Hearing his voice directed at her, Sylvie flinched visibly, then lowered her head. She didn't want to face Reigner who had utterly disappointed her an hour ago... His display was mighty and full of confidence, but he was like the rest of the nobles from this world.
A lustful dog that rewards himself by sullying others!
It's been more than ten months already.
The earthlings have been fighting and struggling in another world roughly for one year with many of them being caught up... Of course, Sylvie believed that some had found a place for themselves in the kingdoms...
And seeing Reigner, Sylvie knew that her thoughts proved to be accurate. Though he had found a place and got a strong status for himself, Sylvie was aware that it's nigh impossible for him to seek others and waste his time with other earthlings.
From the knowledge she has gathered, the world hope is a phenomenon that usually can not be opposed. It is not only because they were born in a world without magic or any supernatural energies, but because humans mostly think about themselves.
There is no real loyalty to the 'one king' and various beliefs are spread evenly across 'small piece' of a land that has been taken out.
'The kingdoms might sound simple, but this is what makes them stronger and united'.
One royal family and a few devoted nobles... The troops scattered through these families know that with enough achievements, their chances to get a better life are high... Achievements on the wars against the other kingdoms!
'It is impossible for us to save everyone... Only the chosen ones can survive'.
And so Reigner was the chosen one.
Sylvie's wind magic she had awakened during the metal soldier's assault was pretty strong. It was so strong that she caught the eye of the noble and got assigned as his concubine. Without any connections and background, Sylvie couldn't oppose him at all.
And how could the noble find her?
Similarly to Reigner, Sylvie sought knowledge and enough resources to become stronger and come back home alive... She barely could move within the Lora Kingdom's lands, so other than believing in the rest, Sylvie knew she can only focus on herself.
But she stood to her belief!
Not surrendering to the noble, Sylvie always made sure to surprise him with her wind magic, ask for guidance, and so on. She wasn't willing to surrender to the world, become the concubine for real, and just live a wealthy life.
Her goal was to get stronger and come back. Thanks to it, the noble hadn't touched her at all and instead guided her to become stronger. This was not that stupid choice! If Sylvie got stronger, then the effects of their intercourse would be also more effective.
Then, The Noble Medusa came barging in.
"It's been a while... I am glad you are doing okay..."
Sylvie answered then. She was sounding docile, but also pitiful as if even a slight touch of Reigner would make her crumble... It was self-defense against her friend who got changed by another world!
No, he adapted!
It was disappointing, but Sylvie understood that it might've been hard for Reigner... She just hoped to speak with him, and somehow make him give up on her... Then, maybe he would take her with himself back to earth...
But that would be hard, right?
Without giving herself...
Suddenly, tears welled up in Sylvie's eyes as she couldn't take it anymore. Constantly being feared of losing her body to the noble, she had fought hard every day. And now, her friend turned into one that lusts over other bodies...
"Yeah, I am doing really well. Tonight, I want to show it to you, so come to my room."
"Uww... ww... mmm.... weeeee!"
Sylvie ended up bursting with tears when she heard him saying it without any pause whatsoever. Was it really so normal for him already? The previous years of being classmates lost all the meaning already?
She cried and cried, while other women from the king's chambers lowered their heads down, faces darkened... Their wealth has been built upon slavery and other disgusting methods, so unlike Sylvie, they didn't let out tears but just waited for impending treatment.
-
"Please... Don't... Reigner... I will die... if you..."
"I got a wife already, Sylvie. This is Paula."
"Eh?"
Because she wasn't willing to open her eyes, Sylvie couldn't really see the insides of the room. There wasn't even a bed or mat, but just a table with some hot dishes letting out steam... Other than that, the house was pretty common with old furniture...
"It must have been hard for you. I get it... I, myself, had cursed way too much throughout these months..."
"R-Reigner... You don't want to..."
"I just took these women to defend myself and then give them a good parting present. Don't worry, you will be back home soon, Sylvie. Now, eat and get some color back."
Reigner slid the chair behind, then sat down on the other end next to Paula. Both of them were waiting for Sylvie to sit, then once the lady sat down, Paula introduced herself and the two began a small conversation.
Because Paula's voice was so sweet, Sylvie realized the crux of the situation.
The fourth princess was always adorable and sweet, but now, she was aiming to sound subtle and soothing, so there was no way for Paula to not reach Sylvie's heart... Right now, what the silver-haired needed was such honest support coming from the other woman that doesn't enjoy the wealth and prestige like any other woman of the nobility.
'I just should stay quiet.'
Reigner confirmed, his eyes closing as he leaned down in his chair. He then inevitably fell asleep as such voice his wife could put him into dreamland far easier! He dozed off, his mouth slightly parted letting out some saliva...
"Miss Sylvie, could you tell me about the earth? I want to know how women exactly live here."
"I... I can't really... tell you... Ever since my childhood, I have been focusing on the school day and night to get the highest salary job... I barely left the house..."
"It's all right. It means I won't be the only one to be a weirdo!"
Paula smiled adorably!
"..."
Does that mean... Does Reigner want to bring her back to the earth?!
Sylvie shifted her eyes from Paula to Reigner a few times in incredulity, then pointed at Reigner. She quickly realized that this is stupid as Paula is blind, but the metal sphere had notified the lady about this movement.
Her face turned to Reigner, then Sylvie added.
"He will soon dirty his clothes..."
The sleeping husband had so satisfied expression it was a pity that Paula couldn't see him.
"Ah, Reigner..."
"MmmM~~ Not yet~~"
"Haha~~"
When Paula's handkerchief reached his mouth, Reigner let out so low pitched voice he sounded like a lady to which Sylvie softly laughed out loud. It hadn't taken a long time for her to finally ease down and sigh with relief, feeling safe even if the house was old and ready to collapse at any moment.
