Chapter 17 - Too naive

The forest of metal aura was also strengthening up the mental of the rookies.

There weren't any medicines, and for food, the battles were inevitable. The rookies, who were mostly commoners, had to sharpen their personalities to ignore the crying and bleeding victims.

There was no way for Reigner to help others.

And he had never thought once about it. It was a little different for his roommates, but the army itself is begirding with death. The rookies had to prepare themselves to abandon their acquaintances and aim for the victory!

No one also wants to die, so making others immobile by taking off their cloth, Reigner and his roommates began to form other plans. The first plan was to naturally throw away the unconscious people from their hidden food supply.

"We have to move anyway... If the blue mark is correct, then we are around here. The red mark is not too far away, but we have to be prepared to face people with weapons."

"What about the exchange? We can try exchanging food for weapons..."

Hasar honestly spoke, and the rest except Reigner nodded a few times in approval. Their 'sharpening' process just began, so the roommates unconsciously were leaning forward more peaceful routes.

The exchange was one of those.

As for Reigner, he yet again cursed. He had already killed and it didn't feel that much due to the cultural difference. It was like a game, and even though this thought was bothering him from time to time, Reigner also had Nightmare constantly complaining that he had taken the wrong route.

The black creature suggested the different routes in which Reigner would be the hidden 'nightmare' constantly visiting huge cities with weaker nobles. He would feed on them and raise the nightmare points in a faster and easier way.

The first problem was that Reigner would rely on nightmares.

Then, the second was that Reigner needed an army if he wants to come back to his home before all other earthlings unite or grow up in strength. To this, Nightmare shrugged and told him to gather some slaves.

Already feeling disgusted by how apathetic he is when it comes to killing, Reigner just threw this idea out from his mind, but constant talks of Nightmare couldn't be stopped at all. Furthermore, he was speaking about killing in such a leisure way it was affecting Reigner.

"We can go for the exchange route."

In the end, Reigner nodded. He is not the leader and just one of his friends. Of course, Reigner and Selia speak the most when it comes to the forest of the metal aura, but they weren't leaders at all. Deciding by vote was far more acceptable for the roommates, so if Reigner refuted in some way, then who knows what would happen next.

Still, Reigner was not that foolish enough.

"While you propose an exchange, I will hide on the side. Do your best to not expose me."

"This... this is how it should be done, yeah. Let's go for it."

""Yeah.""

-

One of the red X marks.

Surrounding the box with the weapons was the party consisted of seven people. They were allies from the start and using their numbers, they had split up in a coordinated way, then found out one of the boxes first.

The weapons were the sight to be happy about first.

Everyone was ecstatic and immediately felt safer, but once one of them reached out for the weapon, the problem arose. Those weapons were just too heavy. The tremendous big mace with the shaft so wide two hands was needed to hold.

A huge battle-ax that looked as if could be split into two.

And more heavy weapons were packed up in the red box.

"There is a machete! Is it- Fuck! It looks light, but is as heavy as the fucking mace!"

One of the rookies swore out loud, but in the group of the seven, there was bound to be one weirdo. He had his eyes closed, a hand softly resting on the mace's shaft. The dude was looking as if cultivating and people rolled their eyes onto him.

It was just the beginning in the forest of metal aura.

And there was no way for this weapon to be some special kind that gives the ownership or something similar to that. The mace was old and already worn out from the wars. Scratches were enveloping the weapon whole.

"Johne, how about you help us? We need to hide these weapons somewhere! If we can not use them, then no one can!"

Of course, it wasn't like they couldn't use them. It was just hard to move with these, but there were more usages than simply swinging. The party was ready to hide the weapons, then go out for the supply search.

The sight of the weapon can scare many people!

Even if they can not use them, the sight might be enough!

"Johne!"

"Fuck! I am going!"

Johne cussed at the idiots. He truly felt something, as if the metal aura was connecting his body to the weapon. He didn't have an origin, but out of the seven people, Johne was doing the best when it comes to forming up the origin.

He couldn't tell it as no one mentioned the origin at all though.

The party of seven worked hard to hide the weapons not too far away, then even planned to wrap up the box anew as if no one had touched it ever. However, this plan failed the moment they gathered around the red box.

"Hello..."

Selia appeared with her two friends.

Felio, the one who was the quietest, had his arms wrapped around his belly. It was to hold all the cans with the food! At the same time, Hasar took the stance ready to fight with his fists clenched. All of them were looking fine, without hunger affecting them.

"You don't seem to come here with vile intentions."

"We want to exchange after all."

"Exchange..."

There was something that Selia and her friends didn't know.

It was the rule that the party of seven had formed the moment they found out the weapon box.

It was a simple rule - 'Don't make any exchanges and give the weapons for others'.

So while the man feigned that he is pondering about the exchange, his friends who were close to the hidden weapons moved. They encircled the three friends and before Hasar could react...

"We kindly refuse. Leave the food and you can go. No, you have surely more food, right? Lead us to your hidden spot, then we will leave you unscratched!"

"Damn it!"

They were too naive in the end!
