The day of my entrance exam had finally arrived after long weeks of tutoring.
Unfortunately, that meant the extreme questioning and comforting of my parents would begin
''Are you worried? Perhaps, nervous?'' My father began asking questions on while we were waiting for the car to be prepared.
My father kept speaking nonsense, ''You must be feeling quite sad.''
In fact, I was exactly the opposite. I was relieved, happy and excited that my tutoring ended.
'As the mind of an 18 year old, no.'
Of course, I did not have the heart to say that out loud, so I played along.
''A little bit.''
''You don't have to worry, I can always get you in.'' My father winked.
I secretly rolled my eyes at his hinting.
'Right, we're basically the Bill Gates of this world.'
''By the way, you have never visited Rendell, have you?''
I shook my head as I did not recall going there for the past weeks.
''It's a great school,'' he paused. ''If only they had named me the best looking student.'' He murmured.
''Huh?'' I sometimes space out, but I was sure I heard him say something.
''It's nothing,'' he realized his mistake. ''The car has already been prepared. Let's get going so you don't arrive late.
'The exam starts in 1 hour. We live 20 minutes away.'
I really did not want to wait 40 minutes inside a car for a kindergarten entrance exam. But I had to endure it.
We got into the Demm family car and I started to put my seat belt on. It was time to get ready for a long car ride towards my future school.
---------------------------------
''No matter what happens, remember that I will support you.'' My father kept pestering me.
After arriving at Rendell and waiting 40 painful minutes, I was supposed to take the entrance exam. Of course, there was an obstacle preventing me from entering Rendell.
''Yes.'' I annoyingly murmured.
''Nobody is perfect. Your mother and I love you a lot. Blah, Blah...'' I basically began to ignore my father's 'comforting'.
'Yes, yes, I get it. It doesn't matter if I fail the exam. Just let me leave.'
There were other children gathered with their parents at the front of the school. I hoped some of them were also going through the same as me.
''I feel so sad seeing you grow up.'' My father began to get emotional.
'I'm entering kindergarten.'
I decided to not be so cold and began comforting my father.
''Don't be sad, I will be with you, papa.'' I genuinely meant my words towards my father and smiled.
'I won't get a third chance at loving my parents, I must enjoy it.'
''Ahh, I'm so blessed by having an amazing daughter.'' My father felt touched.
''Anyways, I must leave-'' I got cut off.
''Oh~ is it the old man Demm?'' A new voice suddenly appeared.
'Can someone just let me leave?'
''Theodore! Here, let me introduce you to my lovely daughter.'' My father seemed to be friends with this mysterious man.
The man turned to me after my father pointed me to him.
''Nice to meet you, my name is Felicia Demm.'' I said politely to the man.
''What a nice young lady she is!'' He complimented me. ''I am Theodore Wright, an old friend of your father.
'That explains it. Both look the same age.'
''I hope she gets well with my son. Is she here for the entrance exam too?''
''Yes, my daughter will be entering Rendell.'' My father proudly declared. ''By the way, how has your family been?'' He changed the subject.
'Ummm, I'm still here. Wait, this is my chance of escape!'
I quickly noticed my escape route and made a go for it.
''Father, I will be leaving for my exam. I'll try my best!''
He looked like he noticed and nodded. It appeared he was more engaged in his conversation with his friend and let me go easily.
''Finally,'' I murmured to myself as I made my way through the crowd.
While walking through the horde of children and parents, I kept hearing different goodbyes and responses.
''I will not accept a failure from you!''
''If you fail this exam, I'l get you in, don't worry.''
'Huh, that's just like my father.'
I was finally able to go through the crowd and stood in front of Rendell.
''Wow!'' I stood, dazed at how beautiful the building looked.
There were massive red letters spelling 'RENDELL' at the front. The walls were made of glass and the building had 3 floors.
Technically, there were are a total of 3 luxurious buildings dedicated to elementary, middle school, and high school. All of the buildings where connected with glass tunnels that made it easier to navigate the school.
There was also an outdoor track, pool, lunchroom, etc. The possibilities of this school were endless.
''Are you going inside or what?'' An annoyed voice spoke behind me and distracted me off my thoughts.
I turned and 2 boys were behind me. One of them had light brown hair and the other had pitch black hair. I also noticed a lot of girls turning to look at them with flustered faces.
'Something's not right.'
I brushed it off and began to excuse myself.
''Ah, I apologize for the disturbance I have made. I'll be going inside now.'' I turned and left without their responses and began walking inside.
''You're too harsh, Erick.'' I heard behind me after walking away.
The name clicked inside my head and then, I realized something outrageous.
'Erick?! No way, could that be my future murderer?'
I panicked and began walking faster at the thought.
'It makes sense, doesn't it?'
I thought about the situation. Black hair, powerful aura, close friend, girls blushing, etc. It absolutely made sense. I had my first encounter with the person who murdered me in the future.
'Whatever, I just need to be calm and not get on his bad side.'
I realized I was overreacting and calmed down.
'He never paid attention to other girls before the female lead, I'll be alright.'
I brushed that thought off my mind and walked to a desk with a sign that read 'KINDERGARTEN ENTRANCE EXAM'.
A lady sat there and asked me for my name.
''Felicia Demm.''
She seemed shocked after I said my name and immediately stood up from her chair.
'Right, my family is important.'
Her reaction made sense and I was used to it whenever I went to places.
''Follow me.''
The lady took me to a classroom and made me sit in a table with my name on it.
''Please wait here until everyone has arrived and the time for the exam begins.'' With that, she left me in a room with other children in it. Immediately after, all of the girls began to gather around my desk.
''Ah~ Felicia! I've always wanted to meet you!''
''I'm so lucky to be in the same classroom as you.''
''Please come to my house to play sometime!''
'I had only sat down for a second and every girl was surrounding me already. What's next?'
