Lyra woke up to the smell of breakfast being cooked, though the smell was delicious she was still a little nervous and unsure about eating food.
Getting out of bed and walking to the kitchen she was instantly greeted by Chica who jumped up at her Making her lose her balance slightly.
"Oh, good morning to you to Chica", Lyra spoke giggling giving her a scratch behind the ears.
Mark seeing what happened quickly and carefully pulled Chica off of Lyra.
"Hey be careful Chica, be careful bub", he said petting her head before wrapping his arms around Lyra and giving her a kiss. "Morning darling, I made pancakes if you wanted to try and eat something".
Lyra smiled but gave a nervous sigh, eyes gazing at the floor, "I don't know Mark".
Mark placed his pointer finger under her chin lifting it gently, "hey, it's alright I know you're nervous and unsure, but there's still a chance you'll be able to digest a small amount and that's better than nothing", he said soothingly.
Lyra knew Mark was right even though it would mean she would have a sore and bloated stomach and would end up being sick later.
"Alright, I'll give it a go, just one though".
He smiled and gave her a kiss to her forehead, "that's my girl".
After breakfast the couple began their morning routine and started the day.
They had spent most of the day together such as watching TV, taking Chica for a walk while Mark had a live stream of a 3 scary games Halloween special.
Eventually the live stream had finished and he joined Lyra back in the living room.
"Sorry I was so long sweetheart", he said sitting beside her gently pulling her into a hug.
Lyra gladly accepted and returned the gesture, "don't worry it's fine, but hey, now that we're both free how about we get out the decorations?".
"Oh, yeah of course I almost forgot, come on then", he said getting up and helping Lyra to her feet.
Finding the decorations they bought, they set about decorating the apartment. Cheekily Mark had found a small box of fake spiders and decided to prank Lyra.
"Lyra?"
"Yeah honey?", she asked walking from their bedroom to the living room to see Mark holding a box, "what's wrong".
"Nothing", he couldn't help but break out in a mischievous smile.
"Mark Edward Fischbach what-"
Before she could realise what was happening she saw something fly at her which made her scream a little in surprise, "Mark!, you scared the crap out of me".
Mark couldn't help but laugh at her reaction, and seconds later it made Lyra laugh as well as his laughter is always contagious.
"Don't worry Fischbach, I'll get you back one day", she said confidently.
"Oh, is that so miss Evans", he replied with his signature smile as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"Yes, very much so", she said wrapping her around his neck as they both leaned in for a kiss.
After a few minutes they pulled away.
"Well, I say how about we finish up with the decorations and get changed", she said
Mark nodded, "fine by me".
They set about putting the last of the decorations up outside.
As daylight started to fade Lyra watched out of living room window as families with young children began walking up and down the streets.
Smiling Lyra realised something, "Mark, we forgot to get costumes!", she explained panicking slightly.
Mark chuckled and walked to the window to stand beside her, "don't worry it's fine I'm sure we can improvise".
"Yeah, you're right let's go see what we've got, I don't think it'll be long before we get a knock at the door"
The pair began looking for something to dress up in, eventually Lyra found a pair of ripped jeans and a black t-shirt and cat ears, while Mark had done the same except with a scary mask.
They prepared a small buffet for themselves using the food they bought and any left over food still in date and waited to see if there would be a knock at the door.
Sure enough there was soon a knock at the door, getting up to answer the door Lyra grabbed the tub of sweets and opened the door. She was greeted by a little girl and her mother.
"Trick or treat", said the girl giving a bright smile.
"Hi, take what you would like", Lyra said showing her the tub full of sweets, "I'm Lyra what's your name?".
"I'm Alice".
Lyra and Alice talked for a few minutes before Alice and her mother departed.
Lyra rejoined Mark on the sofa cuddling into his side continuing to watch TV.
Through out the night Mark and Lyra took it turns to answer the door, many of the kids recognized who they both were and asked to take pictures with them which the couple gladly accepted.
This was their first enjoyable Halloween together and nothing could have better than that..
