Chapter 4 - The Moe Café learns about their magic

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, a man made a magical communication circle and contacted a certain being.

"So they were actually summoned?"

"Yes master. They were summoned into the Kingdom of Exforia just as Serbus foretold."

"Hmm. So it wasn't a bluff after all. No matter. I'll soon come to deal with those so called heroes myself. It's the same with every world I conquered. There's always some sort of prophesy about some hero coming to take me down. And just see how those turned out? I conquered them all."

"But master, there are twenty six of them now. We have never heard of such a prophecy before."

"Are you doubting my power?"

"N-No master. How could I ever doubt the greatest and most powerful being in existence?"

"Hmph. At least you know that much. But if it still worries you, just remember that the universe will soon witness the creation of a level far greater than the Celestials. And that's when everything will be mine. That's when everyone will cower at the mention of my name. The name Verkonis shall be heard to the far ends of the universe."

"Yes master. Nobody will ever stand in your way."

"Now go and watch their every move. I want to know everything about them. Don't leave them out of your sight."

"As you wish master." Said the man as he turned off his magic and set out towards Exforia.

******************

The next day at the mansion, everyone was still asleep after their long and tiring journey. Joey was the first one to wake up. He stood up from his bed and went to the window. A couple of Pegasus were flying by.

"Wow. I still can't believe that I'm in another world right now."

"You better believe it." Said Melody, flying up to his window.

"AHHHH!!!" Shouted Joey, falling on his back.

"Oops. Sorry about that. I just saw you at the window and thought I'd come by and say good morning." Said Melody as she flew in and helped Joey up.

"Oh Melody. It's you. You've been gone all night?"

"Yup. Just got home from work. Those guards we met yesterday came over to see me. I had so much fun."

"I-I see."

"I'll go see if the others are awake. Then we can all go have breakfast." Said Melody, leaving the room.

And sure enough, everyone else was awake. Mostly because of Joey's sudden scream. They all got out of their rooms and headed downstairs to get some breakfast.

"So, have you all decided what jobs you're going to pick?" Asked Melody.

"Well, since ten of us will become adventurers, sixteen of us remain. And since we decided to stay in this world and open The Moe Café here, I thought it'd be best to get jobs that would help us achieve our goal." Said Johnny.

"I see. So I presume that you'll need to get a building for your cafe. Which means that you'll be needing money." Said Melody.

"That's right." Said Libellus.

"Well, to get a new building up, especially since it's for a business, you'll need about twenty million vir."

"Twenty what now?!!!" Asked Steve in shock.

"And I presume that's quite a lot, right?" Asked Gaby.

"Well, it all depends on how you look at it. You're pay varies by the class you have. F-Class gets one hundred vir per month, E-Class gets five hundred, D-Class gets one thousand, C-Class gets five thousand, B-Class gets ten thousand, A-Class gets fifty thousand, S-Class gets one hundred thousand and X-Class gets one million."

"One million? Not five hundred thousand?" Asked Hiding.

"That's right. As you all have guessed, X-Class is quite special. We have very few X-Class individuals. And those are mostly nobles and God Levels."

"That makes sense I guess." Said Evan.

"So given that all of us here are between D and A-Class, we could make about seven million vir per year." Said John.

"How did you calculate all that?" Asked Animak.

"I just memorized everyone's class and followed what Melody said." Said John smiling.

"Nerd." Said Connor.

"Anyway, we would have seven million vir per year without using a single penny. Which is basically impossible." Said Johnny.

"Even so, it would take us at least three years to get the money necessary for the café." Said Poxal.

"How about saving five million vir per year?" Asked Katie.

"That would mean that we would be getting all the necessary money in five years." Said SOS.

"Well, remember that you can always get points to go up a class. And then there are the ten adventurers. You can get money from the quests you complete. And who knows? You might even find some treasure." Said Melody.

"Treasure?!" Asked everyone in surprise.

"Yup. Putting the dungeons aside, there are ruins and other undiscovered places that are sure to have some sort of treasure. Treasures that are found will be taken to the town hall where they will be appraised and find out the worth of the treasure. But if you were to find some sort of ancient relic, it will have to be taken straight to the palace. Those will be appraised there. Afterwards, the king himself will be the one to reward you."

"Wow! We're going meet the king?" Asked Katie.

"Only if you find any relics."

"Hear that adventurers?" Asked Noble.

"Leave that to us. With us as the adventurers, we'll get The Moe Café up and running in no time. Right guys?" Said Nux.

"For sure. But we're girls now, Nuxy." Said Animak.

"Oh. How could I forget about that, my cute Animak?" Said Nux holding up his boobs.

"Alright then. Now that we got us out of the way, what are the rest of you going to do? What jobs are you going to pick?" Asked Tekking.

"Well, Gaby, Katie, Libellus, Chibi and I are going to go work in a restaurant. That way we could learn more about this world's cuisine and what people like around here." Said Mental Quorum.

"That sounds like a good idea. Plus, we could find out what foods we have in common. That way we can make a totally different menu than what they have here." Said Spooky.

"Then Steve, Joey, Rustage and I will go work with Chiika and Ouji. We're going to bring some of our world's fashion into this world." Said Connor.

"Well, with Connor's great fashion sense, Fantasia is going to make a fortune." Said Poxal.

"Hey Melody. Are there any libraries around here?" Asked Jordan.

"As a matter of fact, there is one. Central Library. The biggest library in Exforia. It has over a million books."

"A million?!!!" Asked Evan in shock.

"Well that settles it then." Says John, giving Noble a high five.

"Yup. Noble, Poxal, John and I are going to head on to the library. We're going to find out everything there is to know about this world." Said Jordan.

"Yeah. Leave the big brain work to us." Said Poxal.

"Which leaves us three." Said Hiding, pointing to Jack and Spooky.

"We're going to head on down to the Town Hall and get to work over there. Maybe that way we can find out something about our mystery man who brought us here." Said Jack.

"Or at least get some customer service experience." Said Spooky.

"Well, I believe that settles it. All that's left to do is to get you all registered at the Town Hall. But before we do that, let's find out everyone's elemental magic." Said Melody.

"Yes. That's what I've been waiting for." Said Dono giving SOS a high five.

"Follow me everyone." Said Melody as she led the way.

The crew followed Melody and to their surprise, they didn't go outside. Instead, she took them to a room that led to the basement. When they got to the bottom of the stairs, they saw a large door.

"Tisora Ugora." Said Melody as she cast a spell. The door opened, revealing a room the size of a football field.

"Wow! This place is huge." Said Recon.

"What is this place?" Asked Briggs.

"This room is a magical training room."

"A magical training room? How do you use it?" Asked Chibi.

"I'll show you. Revarte Ostra!" Chanted Melody.

Suddenly, the room started shaking. It felt like an earthquake. Everyone was shocked at what they saw. The room started changing. Grass and trees started growing out of the ground. A mountain with a waterfall formed into the distance. The ceiling transformed into the sky. Soon after, the shaking stopped. A small breeze started blowing.

"What just happened?" Asked SOS.

"Did we teleport?" Asked Joey.

"No. This room can turn into any place you can imagine. All you have to do is to say the spell and imagine what area you want to appear here. This room is also special for elemental magic training. Once I cast that spell, the room began to fill with elemental spirits. We're going to use this landscape to test out your elemental magic. So who wants to go first?"

"How about we let the adventurers go first?" Asked Gaby.

"Alright. What you have to do is close your eyes and concentrate on the flow of magic in your bodies. Try to get accustomed to the feeling. Once you got a good grasp on it, an elemental spirit will come to you. Based on that spirit, we will know which type of magic you possess. Alright adventurers. Ready?"

"Yes." Said the adventurers.

They did just as Melody instructed them to. They began to sense the flow of magic. And soon enough, the spirits started reacting to them.

"That's right. Keep going. Don't lose concentration. The spirits are…. What's going on?" Asked Melody. She couldn't believe her eyes. Each of the ten adventurers were surrounded by six spirits.

"Can we open our eyes now?" Asked Hirito.

"Y-Yes. But how…." Stuttered Melody.

"Wow! Are these the spirits?" Asked Evan.

"They look like small fairies." Said Johnny.

"You can see their true forms?!" Asked Melody in shock.

"Yeah." Said Nux holding out his finger as one spirit landed on it.

"Fairies? All I see are small colorful balls of light." Said Jack.

"You guys can't see them?" Asked Animak.

"The thing is, Serbus was the only one who could see them because of the high amount of elemental magic he possessed." Said Melody.

"So that means we also possess a high amount of elemental magic?" Asked Evan.

"High amount is an understatement. Serbus had three types of elemental magic. Fire, wind and light magic. So that allowed him to see the spirits in their true forms. He was also the only one to ever have more than two types of elemental magic."

"So we also have three types?" Asked Recon.

"No." Said Melody. "Y-You each h-have s-six types."

"Six?!" Said everyone is shock.

"Yes. You ten possess all the types of elemental magic. I don't know how that's even possible. Having all six types is unheard of."

"You think it has something to do with us getting transported here?" Asked Steve.

"It's possible. But I just realized something."

"What is it?" Asked Tekking.

"Well, taking your classes, levels and now elemental magic into account, it is very possible that the ten of you could end up being stronger than Serbus himself. You might even be able to achieve Celestial Level."

"Are you serious?!" Asked Hirito in shock.

"That's insane." Said Nux.

"We can end up being stronger than the Divider of Dimensions himself?" Asked Briggs.

"That's getting me pretty excited actually." Said Evan.

"Putting that aside, let's see what the rest of you have." Said Melody motioning for the others to come and test out their elemental magic.

The ten made way for their friends and went to stand next to Melody. The rest of the crew did what Melody told them to and sure enough, the spirits came out. But this time, things were different.

"Hmm. This time, you guys each have two spirits. So I guess not all of you are the same." Said Melody.

"So that means our adventurers are quite special." Said Connor.

"Don't worry. You guys are too. There are only about a hundred people in the whole kingdom with two types of elemental magic. Evan I have only one."

"So what types of magic do we have?" Asked Rustage.

"Let's see. Gaby, Jack, Spooky and Chibi have fire and water magic. Connor, John and Katie have wind and earth magic. Jordan and Steve have light and dark magic. Joey has light and fire magic. Hiding, Noble and Poxal have earth and water magic. Rustage and Libellus have fire and wind magic. And Mental Quorum has water and wind magic."

"Wow. I never imagined I was going to be able to use magic one day." Said Libellus.

"Me neither." Said Jordan.

BOOM!!!

"What the hell was that?!" Asked Recon as he and a couple of others fell to the ground.

"Lady Melody!!!" Shouted one of her maids as she came rushing to the room. "The capital is under attack by a large army of monsters. It was labeled a God Level threat. But the king summoned everyone from High Level upwards to deal with it. Everyone else needs to help with the evacuation."

"High Level upwards?! Where are all the God Levels?!"

"The capital wasn't the only city that was attacked. All the cities of Exforia are currently under attack. So the God Levels had to split up."

"All of Exforia?!" Asked Melody in shock. "Alright. Get the other maids and go help with the evacuation."

"Yes my lady." Said the maid as she ran back up.

"Melody. How can we help?" Asked Poxal.

"You guys stay here. It's too dangerous out there."

"But…."

"No buts. You guys don't know how to fight yet. So stay in this room." Said Melody as she left, sealing the door with her spell.

"Damn. Are we just going to let her go like that?" Asked Evan.

"She's right though. We'll just get ourselves killed. We still don't know how to use our magic." Said Katie.

"I know. But there has to be something we can do." Said Nux.

"Do you want to help your friend?" Asked a small cute voice.

"Of course we do. Wait. Who said that?" Asked Animak.

"Look. It's the spirits." Said SOS.

"By forming a contract with us, you will be able to achieve great power that will allow you to help your friend." Said a fire spirit.

"We will be with you from here on out." Said a light spirit.

"By having us with you, you will be able to control your magic at will." Said a wind spirit.

"Okay. What do we need to do to form the contract?" Asked Dono.

"Just chant the words "Arius Zect" six times. This way, each of you will form a contract with six elemental spirits." Said a water spirit.

"Alright. Let's do this guys." Said Tekking.

"What are you guys doing?" Asked Connor.

"We're forming contracts with the spirits. This way, we can control our magic." Said Recon.

"Contracts? Are you sure you guys will be alright?" Asked Gaby looking a bit concerned.

"Yeah. Don't worry about us. You guys ready?" Asked Nux.

"Yeah. Let's do this." Said Hirito.

"Arius Zect! Arius Zect! Arius Zect! Arius Zect! Arius Zect! Arius Zect!" Chanted the ten adventurers.

As they were chanting, all ten of them were enveloped in a bright light. The ground started shaking as the contracts were being formed. Soon the shaking stopped and the light that enveloped the ten was gone.

"Are you guys alright? We're the contracts for…. No way." Said Noble.

"Is this for real?!" Asked Jack in shock.

"What is it?" Asked Dono.

"Is there something on my face?" Asked Nux.

"Let me see." Said Briggs looking at Nux. "N-Nux?"

"B-Briggs?!"

"Is everyone….?!!" Said Briggs as he looked at the other eight.

The crew couldn't believe what they saw.
