Chapter 5 - Second Meeting

Blue just arrived at her father's house and her brows twitched when she saw that a lot of white roses are arranged beautifully in their garden. Also, the platform in their mini lake is visible again.

Mr. Qin Gu's (Blue's father) house is enormous. Of course, the lot where it was built is also enormous. They were even able to build a mini lake in their lot.

Blue just shrugged her thoughts off and she entered her father's house. Her forehead furrowed when she saw that the house is also filled with white roses. The covers of the couches are also changed into plain white silk, the curtains are now gold.

Blue's father was shocked when he went downstairs. His daughter is really in his house. The lady still remembered him after all.

"Blossom?" Blue's father called and Blue so Blue glanced at his direction. Blue smiled widely and ran towards her father. She embraced him tightly.

"Papa, I miss you! Why are you not visiting me?"

"Heh, I'm old. You're young. You won't easily get tired when you travel."

"But you have more money than me. You won't easily feel sad when you're losing bank notes due to transportation expenses." Mr. Qin laughed hard at what Blue had said. The old man patted Blue's head.

"You go and take a rest. When you're finally energized, go to your walk-in closet. The gown you'll wear for Ji Mei's wedding is there."

"Eh, she's getting married? The last time we talked was last week! Why didn't she tell anything to me?"

"Maybe she's afraid that you'll scold her for 12 hours." Mr. Qin calmly said.

"Hah, when is her wedding day, Papa?"

"Tomorrow."

Blue's eyes widened because of her dad's response. "Where is she right now, Papa? I need to beat her up!"

"Let your cousin be happy. I'm not rushing you to marry but your cousin is 4 years younger than you, and she's getting married tomorrow."

"Papa, I'm happy with what I'm doing. What's wrong with being single? You're always saying that I'm getting older and older and I'm still not married. Why, will marriage stop me from growing older?" Blue blurted out and Mr. Qin was out of words.

"Okay, calm down now, calm down. You might be thinking why our house is decorated with white roses. It's because I offered our residence to be your cousin's wedding venue."

"Oh. Right, why would I be dressing up for tomorrow? I'm just there to watch their matrimonial ceremony."

"You're one of the bridesmaid."

"..."

Why did no one tell her about all of these?

"Papa, will Mama and Cherry-jie jie come?" Blue asked with a small voice. Blue's mom and dad are already divorced. Blue was only 10 years old when the two separated, and her sister, Cherry, was 15. Since then, Cherry lived with their mother and Blue lived with their father. Cherry and their mom lived in the same city where Blue is currently residing, while Mr. Qin decided to take Blue with him to come back to his hometown, Sanya, China.

"I don't know. Your cousin, Ji Mei, sent Cherry an invitation and I have no idea if she responded or not." Mr. Qin explained.

"I haven't seen them since the two of you separated. Though I'm living in the same city with them, I never bumped into them, even just for once."

"I know that both of them loves you."

"You think I would still believe those words, Dad? It's been 18 years since you separated and me and Cherry-jie jie were forced to choose who we will come with. Cherry-jie jie chose Mama, and I chose you because I can't live you alone. Also, why is Cherry-jie jie sending you messages? She never sent me one. It's not like her phone bill would rise high when she sends me a message. We're living in the same country with only one network! Ah!" Blue let all of her thoughts out and little did she know, tears were falling down from her hazel brown eyes.

Blue seemed to notice it so she simply wiped her tears with her thumb. Her dad went near her and gave her a tight hug. It's like the hug was implying that she was never alone. She was never left out. She has a family. She has her dad.

Blue cried hard in her dad's arms and her dad didn't mind. Blue suffered during the past years when her parents separated.

"Come on, cheer up, Blossom. I cooked your favorite spring rolls." Mr. Qin spoke and Blue immediately stopped crying. She stoop up straight and ran towards the dining hall.

Blue's mouth was wide open when she saw the foods in the 16-seater dining table. The very long table was full of foods. Her dad prepared a feast for her!

"Thank you, Papa." Blue glanced at her dad and smiled softly.

LIGHT arrived at the hotel booked by Fu Quan for his wedding. He's not a part of the entourage so he's just there to greet his friend.

The staff of the hotel led him to the groom's room when he stated his name. Light opened the door and he saw Fu Quan with a worried look in his face.

Light entered the room and closed the door. He stayed silent while Fu Quan was worrying over something Light has no idea about.

"Fu Quan," Light can't take it anymore so he called Fu Quan. The latter was startled and he glanced at Light with a shocked face.

"Light, you're here. You just arrived?"

"I'm sitting here for not less than 15 minutes. What are you so preoccupied about?"

Fi Quan sighed and glanced at Light with pitiful eyes. "One of the groomsmen met an accident. He was supposed to be the partner of Ji Mei's tigress cousin. Ji Mei wasn't mad but she's afraid that our marriage wouldn't be possible if she has no partner."

"Her cousin is that unreasonable?"

"You don't understand! Ji Mei's cousin is 4 years older than her, and is over protective towards Ji Mei. Me and Ji Mei are engaged for not less than a year and Ji Mei never mentioned it to her cousin. She's afraid of being scolded for twelve hours straight. Her cousin just arrived yesterday and she also just knew about her cousin's wedding yesterday, so she was fuming mad and asked her father where Ji Mei is to strangle her."

"Oh. Then it's your fiancé's fault." Light spoke and Fu Quan glared at him, but Fu Quan's eyes suddenly brightened.

"Right. Why didn't I think of this? You're a guy, one of my friends, and what you're wearing suits the theme of our wedding. You go and replace him."

"Eh, are you an idiot?"

"You're just going to walk with the tigress, what's wrong with that?"

"..."

"Okay, fine. You should take responsibility when I'm suddenly killed by the tigress. All of my money and properties will be given to Lim Ji Eun, my five year-old nephew." Light stated.

"Well, repeat all of it over again. I'm going to take a video, so that I have proof to give the lawyer who will handle your wealth that will be left behind." Fu Quan blabbered.

"Then I'll take a video of you, too. You brought me to this mess. I'll take you with me when misfortune comes directly to me."

"..."

The two stayed silent for a while and a man entered the hotel room.

"Mr. Fu, it's almost 6PM, we shall go to the venue. The ceremony will be starting at 6:30PM." The man said and Fu Quan just nodded in response.

Light and Fu Quan left the hotel room and went to underground floor of the hotel to get the car that they would ride on their way to the wedding venue.

Light entered the driver's seat and Fu Quan was seated in the shotgun seat. Light drove off and in not less than 20 minutes, they arrived at the wedding venue. It was a big mansion built on an enormous lot. The wedding will be held at the mansion's garden, and the platform where Ji Mei and Fu Quan will exchange their vows is built at the center of a man-made lake that is also inside the house. The platform was really like a gazebo, and the pathway towards that platform is like a flat bridge with glass-like railings. Of course, there was a red carpet rolled over the pathway.

Only the priest and the couple to be wedded will stay in the gazebo. The rest will stay at the garden full of white roses and fairy lights that are decorated wisely.

Fu Quan left Light alone to talk with Ji Mei's relatives and Light almost didn't move when a man in his late 40s or early 50s walked towards him.

"Are you a friend of Fu Quan?" The man asked with a smile in his face. He spoke in Chinese. The man looks dashing even if he's already in his late 40s or early 50s, like he can still some girls' heart.

"En." Light responded.

"This must be your first time here in Sanya. Are you from Korea?" Light was shocked when the man actually noticed that he's Korean. Everyone have mistaken him as a Chinese guy.

"En, I lived in Korea when I was in middle school and high school. Now, I'm living in X City. And no, this is not my first time to come here in Sanya."

"Oh, you're living in the same city as my daughter. What a great coincidence! Also, your Chinese accent is great. Enjoy yourself, I'm going to entertain the other guests." Light nodded at the man.

"Everyone, please settle down. We'll start in a few minutes. Everyone who's a part of the wedding entourage, go here, near the entrance." The wedding organizer announced and Light walked towards the entrance.

The wedding organizer arranged all of them and she stopped when she stood in front of Light.

"Are you a part of the entourage? May I know your name?" The wedding organizer asked.

"I'm the substitute for Gu Hao, he's in a hospital because of his injuries." Light explained and the organizer just nodded at him. The organizer then pushed him towards the right side of a lady wearing a white flowing dress, holding a piece of white rose.

The lady might have felt Light's presence so the lady glanced at Light and she was unable to speak. Light also turned his head to glance at his partner and he was also out of words.

Light's partner is Sorrow Blossom Qin, the woman whom he had an encounter with in the Gold Dragon Hotel, the woman who made him redraw all of her sketches, the woman who gave him a lot of potato chips and cookies, and the woman whom he drew a chibi version of.

So, this is Ji Mei's tigress cousin?

"..."

"..."

When no one was talking, both of them turned their heads in opposite sides and sighed.
