The front door slammed, the showered fragment made Karen screams from the unexpected sound. Greg was quick to investigate the sounds from the bed roomdl door. He turned to David with a poker face but a sort of soft nod. They were talking without words again.
Stomping march and loud oscillation repeated phrases. It was like some spy movie with special ops men in black cloth make mess of everything.
They are speaking strangely for what most expect to be swat, spies, army or police. Not a known language that has any English nouns in. Not anything from the Korean or Asia amine that Karen blares from her room normally. Yet they do know common curtesy, letting us pack our things and make sure we are OK. Simple instructions in English.
They had a secondary removal team, folks in civilian uniforms. Those lot did only remove everything. They were not answering our questions. No eye contact. No acknowledgement of us.
The place became just shell of a building as we are packed onto a coach. Other families of this neighbourhood sodding or demanding.
Karen was sodding into David. Greg is taking this to smoothly. It was weird for him. He normally one to protest these things. Rick was acting out, as I knew he would.
I can't help, close myself from it all. Bundled up on the seat and just ignoring it. It was my way of coping or passing out. I have that light headed headache and tunneling vision. I could not explore around at whom else is here.
"Ages 13 to 20... please step off." Rick nod with taking Karen from David. Pulled me up on my feet and push me ahead of them both. Knocked into someone else coming out the seats, I help them up with a muffle apology. The next person I also let go ahead following their friend.
"James!" David shouted. I shook out of it and looked to him directly, "What said..."
"We will be ok. The butterfly, remember." I wavered in recalling it. He nods with acceptance and sitting down. He stares into Greg, the colour is gone from him. I give a bow and climb down the coach steps, "I can't imagine it going to be fine for them." James softly told Rick and Karen cries in hearing it. Rick pushed me forwards to the crowd gathering. Rick makes it his mission to protect his sister from everyone. I can't blame him.
Stood as some instruction is being babble in that strange again. Pleading sounding. In how they posed was a prayer, hand waved from chest to the crowd. Most drop at the floor... starting those close to the speaker. Some fall harder and other gently sat themselves. The youngest seems least harmed.
Rick snarls with keeping Karen awake and sane. Getting her to focus on him, talk about things they grown up with. He glares at me for some magic trick.
I stood in front of my siblings, I waved my counter. Wordless unlike the guy and wasn't so exhausting of a trick. Dropped the man to the floor himself.
I don't trust such creep wearing the wrong centuries fashion. He had no good things sitting his shoulders. Victorian maybe. It looked ridiculous with some pin cover scarf and a velvet like cape or cloak.
"Hey!" I pushed my siblings to make them run. We are fast pelt across the football field, this is the local nature reserve and public green fields. This was the other end of the nature reserve if you followed the train tracks we would cross to the bus.
Sliding down the river concrete embankment and crossing the river low flowing water dribble. Mostly helping Karen not slipping in or hurting herself. Rick pulls her and they both pulled me up on the other side. No gun firing... so they are not using police weapons or any normal tricks. These folks are strange: the language, the processes they act with aren't normal and the lack of UK government standards about it.
Agents have numbers or at least those whom announce whom they are. Just shoved people around. I fear for those whom protested against these strangers. Lords know what fate would be for them.
Exhausted collapsing at the farmers field from here was accepting. Sufficient for now... see any helicopter from this distance. There is doubt that they have access to police helicopters but it is a caution worth keeping in mind.
"What are we going to do now?" Karen broken down... total melt down. Rick is scared too. For once wearing his heart on his sleeve, shiving like his sister. I am not any different. Shaken and confused. We let this all wash us... Need this breath to bring back some mind thinking.
Why did this happen? What exactly happened? Who did what? Should have we ran? Did I do a bad with making that power flick back on that guy? Why me? Is this my first encounter?
Well, actually. It isn't my frist encounter. That is for certain. I have chosen to ignore them like I had to the other clay folks or spirit things.
"I am cold..." Karen complained. I check the time... it late. Well actual morning. Rick is also cold... not that he admits.
"Can you help me?" Asking with a hand out to stand them both. My drag with a large 5 man tent. They not tired at the start of putting the tent up. I gave head band lights. Put a low light lantern at the front. Faster together with it up and soon in sleeping bags of our own. I pass new phones and that laptop back out. Typing searches with internet about nearby places. Food mostly. I can not sleep.
"Thank you." Rick was real with the moment and settled sleeping. I had then got back to typing. Writing our continued story of my journal. I stare at the sky... Cold myself and just not happy with the way things have fallen.
The water coloured ghost handed over their bags... from the bus. We just got up and left them behind. It was dripping red tears. I take the bags and I exchanged a tissue for it. The mask changed from a deep smile into a little frown. The tears stop at least. I looked around for other ghost things and it pats me at the shoulder... disagreement.
"Left behind... Partly..." It put a cold mist to stop me talking. It stays with watching out the door, "I am glad you with us." it waved me to hush. I had frowned and briefly went to stand then lowering into a crutch, so I could listen too.
Plant rustling... feild whispering howls. The guide ropes pull. Groaning of the tent threat to lift. Our masked ghost stood through the roof of the tent and back down. From clouded darkness of its body to nothing, it hangs the face to mine. We see through each others eyes. I dont seen a world any different then before.
The off whimpered whistle of the two siblings sleep were all that could be focused on. Yet that's just it, wasnt a monstrous storm outside. It would be someone else sudden sneeze from behind the tent that we can't see from this door. They assumed this windy storm illusion is going to stop them from being heard.
The ghost came off my face and forms back to a cloaked dark figure in a very vivid colored mask. It nods to me, a hand at my chest more likely my heart. I softly respect a bowed head back. In looking back up, they were gone. The sneezer soon screams waking those two up. I toss them each their bags and pull them out the tent.
"Stop!" Karen shivers with there being so many people just standing around them. Rick pulls her close, "Which one of you knocked out the priest?" Are they lost time travelers in the wrong century?
"Why would we tell you? What happen to our parents... our two fathers?" Rick being speaker. I stand at his side to back him up, I see that fortune favours these people around us.
"Rick. Karen. James." pointed to us correctly, "Your foster kids. Those two were just fosters and not adopting sorts." They have a paper out, "Given permission to live heretical practices as long as they found candidates for our program." The paper showed signatures and declaration. For what seems English.
"My sister and Myself, don't mind coming along. Its James you going to have trouble convincing."
Rick gave nod to me and I guess I needed to take this as leave. I study around where the shadows intercepted dark enough layers. I took the dive through and ran the darkness in a warped melted distortion fashioned into a corridor. I ran past the group and evaded light areas, jumped over a fence and pushed myself to jump over a thin canal. Light pulls me back and I leaned at a tree. Exhausted for the split second of running.
They really did go quietly with the strangers. Karen passed out so she had to be carried, her brother shoulders her himself. Refused to let go of all he has left.
"You're not going to be able to stop the fate." I looked around for whom said that and find myself only able to assume the bird on the branch above spoke, "You are clearly whom they are looking for. Young but aged. Docile but full of tricks. You're name is just you real middle name. But do forgive me, you don't remember anything."
I study where next to run and just putting my life in my own hands. Jumping into the canal was a very good option.
"You're not going to go anywhere." My weigh pulled down to the floor, "Binding 3, steal strength." This person looked up the tree, "For the follower of Omens, you never seem to just shut up." Kneeled into my back and with some sort stone lock on my hands. Pulled me off the floor, "A brat with a few party tricks does not mean his whom were looking for." The cuff were burning my hands... in fact the very heat made melted them off me. I dripped of sweat, leading me to be dropped. They guy was digusted by how sweaty I am and was lost grip to carry me. I stand back up and was not about to miss this moment. Life matters.
Over the bridge and jumping shadow side first. Instead of splashing into the water, I could already be in the water as long as there is shadow. I had to swim chance between the underneath of canal boats for air pockect without surfacing. Take no chances. If I wanted to be found, I would have returned already. Wherever it means returning to.
The bridge creaked at the burden of a dozen men standing at the side with flashlight looking for air bubbles. A second party in civilian sport wear in smaller caneo boats pushed looking too. Everyone posed as just some person for a social event. Photographer and a report stood at the talk of a man and his pet that was large variation of crow or raven.
"He can't be here anymore. He has used the same trick twice to evade being taken. He didn't speak any words of a portal or blink spell to flee with. So the methods has to be something we don't know."
"That was him... I just know it." The bird coos softly at low voice, "He has the royal's eyes."
The disbelief of the statement is taken with grains of salt. Spitting at the floor at the nearest shoe. If he was the brat of the royal family. He would know not to use their practices so blatantly. Not in front of these useless and none talented.
"Dont dismiss the possibility. He had a terrible aura of something far worse then death. He seem really shut down and just burnt the spell seal off himself."
"Then we could just have another one for Damned spirits pretending to be living again. Its not our first damned to flee."
The people take pause in thinking about that. If the kid was able to utilize dark shadows. He would be well far from gone. Folks leaned over the bridge and have search torches off.
"Call off the search, this kid is damned." Radio in, "There's no telling what worlds he can travel from here." the clicks of folks agreeing and everything packed up for evidence.
The one man snarls at disgust for what lost chances of catching a damned that will speak. Damned that play human that well are rare and of status for a reason. A chance to remove a mistake he made a long time ago, faded into darkness.
