Chapter 2 - First Trade

[Installing Unfair Trading System...]

[Installation Complete!]

"SYSTEM!" Rin exclaimed in excitement, the other people looked at him with pity. Why would someone be excited about prison? They all thought Rin was mental.

'Unfair Trading System? I've read novels where people gained systems and goldfingers, but why does mine sound a bit weird.' Other systems had cool names like Ultimate or Supreme, but his system had the word unfair.

[Please do not refer to the system as weird]

'...Fine, what does it do?'

[This system allows you to trade with people]

'...'

'That's it?' Rin didn't expect his system to be so mediocre. He gave up, his life was over. What's the point of trading if he owned nothing. All he had was his clothes.

"Hey man, you okay? You can't be screaming like that." Micky waved gently to a brawny tattoo-covered man sitting across the aisle. He felt like a rabbit next to a lion.

"Sorry."

The bus carefully drove across the narrow bridge as it swayed from side to side, threatening to drop them into an abyss of water. You would be lucky to drown before a monster ate you.

Only as the bus approached closer to the prison could Rin see the actual size of the castle. Standing at 19 stories tall, and the size of a stadium, it completely dwarfed the truck to the size of an ant.

Entering the prison, Rin found that it was actually quite neat. A pretty attendant stood behind bullet-proof glass as she registered the prisoners while the prisoners drooled and leered at her with eyes of lust.

The administration process was simple enough. The guards drew everyone's blood, then took a picture with each person holding a sequence of numbers and letters. From start to finish, all the prisoners were entranced by the simple smile of the attendant.

"Ok, you're all done." The female attendant continued to smile.

Rin couldn't keep his eyes open as he dropped onto the ground. As he fell asleep, he could barely see the attendant's smile widen, her eyes held on the prisoners, she licked her lips which would have turned Rin on, but all he could feel was danger. She enjoyed the sight.

Everything blacked out.

Rin woke up with a headache, he couldn't comprehend what just happened. He was on the bottom of a bunk bed. The snores of the person above him entered his ears.

Looking around the small room, he found a lightbulb smaller than his palm hanging from the ceiling as the only form of light, and a toilet only a few meters away from him.

The walls were made of metal, giving off a cool tingle on touch. The door camouflaged into the walls. Unlike the prison cells he saw in movies, there were no openings. He was completely isolated.

He was in a prison cell.

'System, what can I trade?'

[The only thing of value on you is your organs.]

If what Micky said was true, then there was no way of surviving 6 years.

'What can I trade for'

[What do you want?]

'Freedom'

[A jail exemption pass costs 1,000 universal coins. If you sold your entire body, you would receive 240 universal coins at most. Please reconsider.]

'I need Strength.' If Rin had strength, even if he could escape this place, he could at least survive 6 years.

Manuals showed up in front of his face. As he scrolled down the list, the prices skyrocketed to the point where he couldn't even count the number of zeros.

At the top of the list was [Basic Energy Absorption] for 10 universal coins. It was the only one he could afford as the next skill costs 150 universal coins.

'What does it do'

[Basic Energy Absorption][Evolveable]

[While meditating, the user gains 1 energy point every minute.]

'Energy point?'

[Energy points are used to evolve. Currently, the user requires 1000 energy points to evolve into a Level 1 human]

Rin thought this was his only option.

'What do I need to trade for it?'

[You need 100 Universal Coins. Each limb is worth 10. An entire head is worth 50. A heart is worth 20. Lungs are 10 each. A liver is 10. Kidneys are 10 each. Intestines are 10 each. An appendix is worth 10. Testicles are worth 10 each. Blood is worth 20. What would you like to trade?]

'Appendix? Isn't the appendix, the poison sac in my body?' In his past life, people died from rupturing the appendix, why would anyone want it?

[The appendix is used by Poison Masters.]

'Makes senses… wait…' Rin was confused, but now wasn't the time for questions. 'I'll trade my appendix for [Basic Energy Absorption]'

[Trade Complete]

Other than a tickle, Rin felt nothing. Information flooded into his head. A wave of dizziness washed over him as he tipped on his bed.

Rin fell asleep.

In a small laboratory, a dull gray-bearded man was creating something. If a normal person was in the same room to him, they would pass out from the air, never to wake up. The bearded man had a flustered look on his face.

He had everything he needed to create his concoction except one main ingredient: an appendix. He was in a bunker in the middle of a desert, hiding underground from the government. It was hundreds of kilometers from the nearest city.

As a Poison Master, it was illegal to be one. If he was caught, he would be executed on the spot. But without an appendix, he couldn't create the serum for [Level 3 Poison Immunity] which would allow him to kill a Level 2 City, and steal everything.

He didn't have an appendix left. Even his own appendix was used by his master to create poison. The bearded man heard a ting.

[Would you like to trade for an appendix?]

"YES!"

[Please trade your [Basic Energy Absorption] skill]

"What do you mean mine?" He was confused. If it was just a Level 1 Basic Energy Absorption skill, he could buy one using his C-Brain with almost nothing, but it was a different case if he was trading his own skill.

[We will take your skill for the appendix]

The bearded man hesitated. After all, he had spent nearly 3 decades evolving his Energy Absorption Skill to Level 4, allowing him to gain 20 energy per minute.

"I'll trade." If he got the appendix, he could steal a stronger Energy Absorption skill to make up for it.
