Chapter 5 - Chapter 4

We shifted to California, Berkeley. It was hidden from me a fact, actually a big fact, that she applied for a job there, luckily received, as a Biochemist in a reputed institution. She once told me that she had completed her post graduation when she was clumsily in love with the man of her bad choice. I recommended my mom to sell that man's whole fortune. We did sold and bought two-storeyed house with a gigantic garden with God's gifted flowers. My mom fixed a good deal with that vulpine Scots.

This house had an airy environment with huge archaic repaired windows and lots of ventilation as compared to my previous house which was exactly like a big cave. The walls had a full of floral designs with gentle warming, welcoming colours which I believe was surely picked by Mrs. Scot. The curtains were also floral. The furniture were classy, expensive one, it smelt of rich sandalwood. This house was mostly painted with light shades of pink. The best part of this house was surely my enormous room with heavy lightings and a heavy natural beam of light emerging from two windows. A king size bed of Rosewood and a bedsheet of sunflower. I had my study table in front of those two windows (where I certainly peep while studying). I repainted my room with merlot and replaced curtains with darker colours and bedsheets of chess patterns, tartan patterns, prints of apples, beaches, dreamy nights, and so forth; it tingles me with Lady feels if not repainted.

We were introduced to garden personally by Mrs. Scot(who was selling her house). They had profuse flowers, well manicured grasses. Her long lectures about the maintenance of garden. The porch was all painted in spotless baby pink. The piazza was long and with a perfect place of drinking tea at evenings and a pinewood table of four seatings.

The ex owner introduced us to one at the right and at the left. The rights were Indian and the lefts were Scots. Mrs. Right(Mrs. Gupta) always asked for sugar and Mrs. Left (Mrs. Campbell) was interested in gossiping about Mrs. Right irritating behaviour. Their husbands had no interest but works and drinks. My mom was always with Mrs. Left perhaps for irking behaviour of Mrs. Right. Well, I did not find Mrs. Right irking at all. She brought jalebis, halwas and kheer. She was actually a social animal, wanting attention all the time.
