Chapter 49 - Really Tired

After taking a breath to relieve the tiredness of having to run here, Janice finally started to speak again: "Sorry to bother you now, but the young mas-"

Only, before she could finish speaking, Arthur spoke over the top, in a hoarse and tired voice: "Later."

Taken a little by surprise by the denial, the secretary still insisted on continuing and said again: "You don't know what might be lost-"

Suddenly her voice gasped and it couldn't get out anymore. Her brain was warning her of constant danger. As soon as she looked up, she saw what the danger was.

Arthur was staring at her with only his left eye showing, as he was still facing the stairs and his back to her. His eyes emitted a sharp, murderous gleam, while he used the little mental strength he had to spread his Will.

"Later!" His husky voice again came out and Arthur continued up the stairs after that.

Janice, who had been left behind, was still shaking and staring at nothing. Her mind was blank and completely frozen.

All of this only passed when she received a warm hug from behind, from her young master.

"It's okay now. Stay calm! It's over." As he stroked Janice's head, the young man's voice was sweet and calm.

In his mind, there was only one thought: 'He's really not an ordinary person! I have to talk to this guy, no matter how long it takes. '

In the dark streets of the city, a figure was staggering as if he were drunk. His eyes constantly blinked, as if he fell asleep and woke up shortly thereafter. His entire figure was ragged, with clothes torn and stained with blood.

That person was Arthur!

After so many struggles and learning, in addition to the constant use of his brain to understand countless things in record time, his brain was already tired and ready to sleep.

The train derailed once and for all when he was illuminated with the fighting technique, which forced his brain even more. There was still at least a minimum of mental strength left to stay awake, but it was completely lost when he used the Will to stop Janice.

Of Arthur, only the soul was left. Although his body was completely healthy, thanks to the potions, if a fly came at normal speed, Arthur would not have the strength to even close his mouth. His legs were using everything he had to walk.

After just over 25 minutes of a dizzy walk, Arthur finally arrived at the hotel. He intended to reach the room first, but as soon as his field of vision caught sight of the reception couch, his body suddenly gained strength again and he ran and threw himself on the sofa, falling into a deep sleep instantly.

The hotel security guard, who was at the reception during the night, saw the scene and did not know whether to laugh or cry. The chief had already warned him that there was an important person in the building, and that it matched the description of the man lying on the sofa.

The security guard soon got up and went to call Arthur so he could go up to his room, at least with help.

"Sir? Are you listening? You can't sleep here, sir." In a hoarse old voice, the security guard called to Arthur as he shook him slightly.

After a few minutes of calling and without reaction, the security guard simply took an old blanket and covered Arthur with it.

"These young people today are hopeless!" Looking a little more at Arthur, the security guard let out a huff of disappointment and went back to the reception desk.

At exactly 5:00 in the morning, as before, a faint whistle started to be frequent in Arthur's ears. But this time, it wasn't long before he woke up.

As soon as he opened his eyes, all he saw was pure white. After feeling where he was lying, he realized that it was different from his bed at the hotel, as was the blanket that covered him.

Thinking he might be in danger, Arthur soon got up and when he looked around, he saw that he was at the hotel reception. Thinking he was hallucinating from yesterday's tiredness, he shook his head a little and rubbed his eyes to see if it was true. When he looked again, he saw that he was actually at the hotel reception.

"Are you okay, boy?" A hoarse voice came from the reception desk. The security guard noticed Arthur's movements and then kept an eye on him to see what was going on.

Trying to understand a little what was going on, Arthur said: "Yes, I'm fine. But, could you explain to me how I got here and not in my room?" When he finished his words, Arthur was pointing at the sofa and up at the same time.

"I don't know either. You who arrived at dawn and staggered through the gate. After you entered the lobby, your first reaction was to throw yourself on the couch and sleep. I tried to wake you up and it came to nothing. You sleep like a rock, boy ! "

While the security guard was talking, small pieces of memories were returning to Arthur's mind. As he was completely tired, his brain was no longer even keen to keep memories in the final moments, so he just remembered walking the streets and lying down somewhere to sleep. So Arthur thought he was in his bed, not on the reception couch.

"Well, if that's the case, then I'm sorry for bothering you. I'm going up to my room." When he finished speaking, Arthur quickly folded the blanket and handed it over to the security guard.

After going up to his bedroom floor, Arthur used the key and entered quietly.

As promised, he took some exercise clothes and went to take a shower to get rid of anything in his body. The torn clothes were thrown into a plastic bag to be discarded somewhere, while the blood-soiled clothes were placed in another bag for future washing.

The building had a laundry service for VIP customers, but sending bloody clothes there would not be the wisest decision.
