Chapter 1 - Sing A Song of Sadness

"Scraping this wrist, I wrote a worthless barcode, there is no other place I'm waiting to be thrown out..."

At the town of Night raven, there is a young talented 15-year-old girl named Luna Winterfel. She has sky-blue hair tied into a twin tail, and brown almond eyes. Tonight, she's wearing her favorite white Lolita dress with a red ribbon on its waist, and her beautiful white gem necklace.

She's a girl who likes to play around with her friends. She also loves to study magic spells, especially the challenging ones -- like ailments manipulation and healing magic. She's a student who likes to test her limits.

Being too smart and too advance compared to her peers. They spread some false rumors about her, trying to destroy her reputation.

"Like dead leaves that fall to the surface of the water and sink if it disappears..."

One night, some of the guards in the town felt a strange aura in the air. Feeling uneasy, their hairs stood up as chills spread through their body. With this unnatural feeling, they begin investigating where the current of the strange magical aura is coming from. They followed it, and as they drew closer, the feeling went from strange to heavy like there's someone or something invisible choking them. The filth of the deep dark magic entered their nostril as it corrupts the air around them. In each smell, it feels like there are insects biting and crawling all over their body.

As they walk, their footsteps echoes along the dark stony pathway. Both of them ended up in front of the Winterfel household. The guards circled the house, and what they found behind it got their blood boiling. Behind the house, they saw two children lying flat in the dirt, gasping for breath while their skin turned dark with dark green vein crawling from their right hand, all the way up to their right cheek.

"T-The rumors are true! She is indeed a witch!" One guard exclaimed.

He glanced at his companion and order him. "Quick! We need to take them to the wizard!"

His companion only nodded in response before picking up the two 13- or 14-years old children. With both guards carrying them, they hurriedly got out of the Winterfel property, fearing the girl who they called a witch, is going to put a curse upon them.

"The wound that I've been hiding for a long time, there is no cure for it..."

"STOP HIDING!!! GET OUT HERE AND PAY FOR YOUR SINS!!!"

"BURN THE WITCH!!!"

Raging mobs of villagers including the head of the town are swarming all over the front house of the Winterfel's property. At the second-floor open window, Luna is gazing out trying to reason with them, but all the people didn't even bother to listen.

"I didn't do it; you have to believe me! I would never hurt anyone!" She cried out. "If you don't know, I'm a healer. I wouldn't dare practice some dark spe-"

"LIAR!!!" One of the villagers roared out, causing Luna to flinch back.

She hid half of her face at the apron, leaving only her teary eyes expose. Her eyes caught a glimpse of a dark hooded figure in the crowd. Because of her keen eyes, she saw the skin of the hands are rotting. She and the mysterious person made eye contact with each other, and this person smiles at her with blood dripping down from her mouth, making Luna's hair stood up. She finally realized who the witch is, so she quickly stood up from her hiding spot and pointed at the direction of where the figure is standing.

"I-It's her! It's her! She did it!" Luna cries out desperately.

The villagers ignored her cries. Suddenly...

"Please! Please just surrender yourself Luna, I'm begging you!" An elderly woman and an elderly man walk in front of the crowd.

The woman has the same hair color as her while the man has the same eyes as her.

"M-Mother?! F-Father?!" Luna gasped. "Please! I'm begging you! Help me reason with the people!"

"I'm sorry my child, we have protected you for so many years..." Her mother's voice shakes.

She took one deep breath and let it out slowly before saying. "B-But I'm afraid we can no longer do that after what you've done. You must face the consequences of your action."

Hearing this, Luna's heart shattered into a million pieces. Her parents, instead of siding with her, they also blame her on the incident.

"I-I'm your own child! I thought you knew about me?! ...You've raised me, and taught me what is right and what is wrong! ...I couldn't hurt anybody! I was a healer for God's sake! They are my friends; I would never hurt them!" Luna cries out, tears keep flowing out from her tired eyes.

Before her parents could say anything, the head of the town suddenly steps in.

"Enough of this witch!" The man roared before turning to the people. "All of you! Get her! ...We will burn her and send her to whence she came!" He demanded.

That's when all the people came stampeding towards the house with torches, ropes, and different types of weapons in hand. For Luna though, she quickly sprinted downstairs and she exited out at the back door.

"Every time I remember my childhood, it's always a cloudy sky. I always wonder if it's sunny now... is it cloudy in the sky? Or is it just my eyes? ...Either way... is fine."

Crunching leaves and mushing grass are heard as the little healer is sprinting away as far as possible from the village, but the villagers are still on her tail, their torches lit up the night like fiery fireflies. The elegant moon shines through this very night, its light hits Luna's face, making her tears twinkle like starlight.

In the distant, the faint angry cries of the villagers are echoing behind her causing the little healer to sprint faster. She doesn't have time to take a rest, or else the villagers will catch up to her. Her visions are blurry because of the never-ending tears running down her face, she didn't know where she's going, she didn't know she's about to enter the forest of forbidden flowers. The villagers had ceased their pursuit on young Luna. The crowd murmured with each other, thinking if they should take the risk and follow her inside, or let her be and let whatever creatures inside the mysterious forest take care of her. Thinking smart, they just leave the scene and return back to the village with anger and disappointment, except for two people in the crowd. The young healer's parents, they took one sorrowful glance at the entrance of the forest before heading out with the others, both of their hearts regretfully screaming her name.

"My favorite picture book, I accidentally tore and threw away the last page. A happy story, I didn't finish reading..."

Luna carelessly sprints through the forest, breaking twigs and branches that's in front of her and beneath her feet. Being reckless, her feet got caught by a medium size tree root that's sticking out of the dirt, she stumbles and roll over the steep earth before splashing in the mud puddle, causing her beautiful white Lolita dress to become brown and torn up. And there, in the middle of the muddy ground she just lied unmoving, her sobs and sniffles filled the air, as she knows she's all alone now and no one, not even her parents, will come and save her.

"Huh? You are an interesting creature?"

A mysterious tiny voice spoke up, causing Luna to shot straight up and gasp sharply.

"Why so surprise?" The voice giggled.

"W-Who's there?" Luna stuttered.

Unknowingly, a heavy bell echoes through the entire forest, causing Luna to put both hands on her ears whilst gritting her teeth.

"It's finally midnight!" The voice cries out with joy.

After the bell tolls, Luna opens up her eyes. And in front of her, she was struck with amazement when the lily pads are sprouting blue, white, and pink glowing flowers over the muddy puddles.

"Woah... where am I?" Luna wondered.

The flowers then soon bloomed, causing glitters to fall from their petals Suddenly, Luna's eyes widened in shock as a gigantic same flower is sprouting in front of her. After the sprouting, the flower then blooms out, shedding the same glitters like the others. But this time, a tiny winged humanoid flew out of the open petals and it flew in front of Luna's face, causing the poor young healer to jump back in fright.

"Welcome to the sacred forest of Night raven known as Silver moon! ...Huh? Why are you look so scared?" The tiny creature questioned.

"Wh-Why shouldn't I?! ...Fairies are known to curse people!"

There's an awkward silence lingers the air and then...

"HAHAHAHAHA!!! Who told you such nonsense?!"

"Wh-What?!" Luna stared at the fairy.

"Ohhh confusion!" The fairy face palmed and shakes her head. "You are referring to the dark fairies of Dark roots... well little girl, you are at the wrong forest if that's what scares you."

"W-Wait, I'm not in Dark roots?" Luna slowly getting comfortable.

"No... Wait, I get it." The fairy giggles. "All the villagers are referring or maybe comparing this forest to Dark roots huh? Well, to tell you the truth, this forest is blessed with purity and harmony, unlike the other one." The fairy explained.

"O-Oh?" Luna stands up but her knees quickly buckle up, making her groan out in pain.

"Oh, you poor thing." The fair worries when she saw the deep wound on the young girl's knees. "Here, let me help you."

The fairy flew over to Luna's wounded knee, she held her hand in front of her mouth and blow some fairy dust on it. Surprisingly, the wound recovered really fast and without any pain.

"Good as new!" The fairy proudly said.

Luna looks at her knees before glancing back at the fairy with a warm smile.

"Th-Thank you." Luna shows a little gratitude

"Oh, it's no biggie. Now, I want to ask you something." The fairy said.

"What is it? Luna answered.

"How the heck did you ended up here?" The fairy asked.

This cause Luna to look at the ground.

"Hm? Are you alright?" The fairy worries.

"I... I was blamed by being a witch. They tried to hunt me down, so they can burn me on the stake. I-I'm innocent I tell you!" Luna's voice is starting to crack. "They just won't listen; I will never do that to my own friends! ...But all of them, including my own parents, blamed me for cursing them!"

Luna screamed out the weight she's feeling inside her chest. Surprisingly, the fairy pats her head comfortingly, making her relax a little.

She sighed from the fairy's hand and spoke. "I was a healer. It is forbidden for us to learn any types of dark magic because it will lose our purities, and God will punish us for it. Why they didn't think about that before they went all over me?!"

"It's a cruel and unfair world indeed. In that case, you can stay here with me if you want to?" The fairy softly told the young girl.

"I... I love to, but I don't have any shelter here." Luna sheepishly said.

Without hesitation, the fairy uses her magic to transform the twigs, leaves, and branches into a hut over the muddy puddles. The stair of the small house extended in front of the young healer.

"I-Isn't this a little too much?" Luna said.

"Oh no worries, we are friends now, aren't we?" The fairy replied.

"I-I guess so." Luna chuckles.

"By the way, what's your name?" The fairy asked.

"M-My name is Luna... Luna Winterfel." The young girl replied.

"Well then Luna. Come, and I'll clean you up so you can finally take a rest inside this warm and comforting shelter. In this moment forth, I'll stand by your side and protect you forever." The fairy quoted.

"Even in such sadness can be sung, there's a lotus flower that opens gently if it plays. In this dirty mud, I slept while I was sinking in this dreamscape. I always wondered, why such a beautiful color?"
