"B-Blue sapphire,"
The words came out on their own. As if his mouth has its own conscience. His eyes fell on the bluestone that hung around the little girl's sleeping neck, it glittered in the night making it impossible not to notice.
He wondered how he didn't notice it before. Maybe it was because she had it inside her dress all this time? He wondered.
His head started drawing scenarios of all the opposite cases, and this being a coincidence wasn't one of them. This was something that he learned over time and it was just proving itself over and over again, and it was that coincidence didn't exist.
Everything happens for a reason, nothing happens without a logical reason and an outcome.
