The last thing he remembers was Joon Wo in front of him, the fall of the wooden chair that he was sitting on, the shatter of glass on the floor, and the sound of the door slamming.
He doesn't remember how or when he had Javid's throat in one hand and his sword drawn in the other.
His mind was blank, his eyes were empty.
The adoring loving father was completely gone by that time. He was replaced by The Pharaoh of Egypt.
The king that other nations crumble at his feet.
"One reason," he said in low dark tune, "Tell me one reason why I shouldn't slit your throat right here right now." His eyes, they were looking right through him to his soul…saints are good, he looked a demon.
"W-what are you t-talking…" Javid struggled to say trying to get out of his grip but it was too strong.
Ashkan was standing wide-eyed looking at the two adults, not knowing what to do, lords, ladies, and court maids were now standing with horrors displayed all over their faces.
"Taking her away from me was enough," his voice was almost a cry yet his grip never lightened, "now you want to take her too."
Javid knew exactly what he meant; he thinks I pushed her in the lake he thought.
"Were you trying to fool me by telling me that someone pushed her on purpose to hide your true acts!?" now his voice was a yell.
A horrifying yell.
Javid before Joon Wo went to tell Akhenaton about the truth, pumped into Akhenaton in one of the hallways.
"She was pushed." Javid said as he greeted the Pharaoh with a bow making him halt in his steps, "I saw someone push her but I couldn't make out his face. I was too far away Your Holiness."
Akhenaton tried to keep his composer and nodded in return despite the rage that was going wild inside him. "I'll into it"
"Thank you," Akhenaton said over his shoulders without looking at Javid. "Thank you for saving my daughter."
Javid was blown with astonishment not believing that he let go of his ego and thanked him for his daughter. Yet, he couldn't keep away the grin that was displayed over his face.
"It's my job, Your Holiness." He bowed and with that, the Pharaoh was gone.
That was before Joon Wo came to his chamber and told him what Ashkan saw and the doubt that Nefertari felt. That was the last thing he remembers.
"I-I didn't do it…" he was cut off again by the sudden tightening over his throat.
"Now," Akhenaton smirked, "What would you feel if slit this little boy throat?" he raised his sword inches away from Ashkan's neck making the boy yelp taking a step back looking in horror at the Pharaoh who was now glaring at him with his rage-filled eyes.
"PAPA!"
Behind them came Nefertari with Joon Wo both out of breaths, they were running as fast as their feet allowed them. After Joon Wo came running to find her.
"It's your father!" that was all he needed to say, his face told her everything else she needed to know to rush out to stop him from doing anything hasty. She knew her father when he gets angry.
God helps those who stand in his path when he is mad.
He changes completely.
Even the image of him sends chills down her spine.
Standing there as her beloved father held his sword at her friend's throat. She was petrified in her place, not knowing what to do or how she could stop him.
She never stood against him when he is in this form…never.
"H-he didn't do a-anything," Javid said his eyes were getting dark as the sword was held at his son's throat, "Put your sword down, p-please."
Wait…WHAT!? The all-mighty arrogant Javid just begged! His son though, forgetting what position he stood in at that time.
That was how much his son meant for him. He meant so much that he would forget his ego and his pride just for him.
Too bad the man in front of him didn't give a damn what he felt.
"So did Nefertari do something!" his smirk was replaced with a glare but this time at Javid, "what did she do so that you wanted her to die?"
"Papa! Please stop it already!" she yelled but her voice fell on deaf ears. No one was listening to what she had to say.
"Now," Akhenaton said smirking devilishly, "Shall we begin."
He raised his sword ready to make it pass smoothly through the boy's flesh.
Bloody hell…
The sword stopped inch's away…
It stopped inches away from his daughter's neck as she stood protecting the little boy. The sword was too close that he could see the strands of hair that was now falling to the ground.
"Please Papa stop." She wiped, "I'm fine, he didn't do anything wrong!" she snapped at her father.
Even though her face was already soaked with tears, her voice never cracked, never stuttered, it stayed firm and confident that she will get back her father.
"Step away."
"NO!"
"I SAID STEP AWAY!" he snapped. Making her flinch in fear, he never yelled at her, he never did this.
He doesn't recognize me she tried to get a grip on her fear. Reminding herself that he will never harm her.
"Papa…" she said, "It's me." She took a step closer holding out her hand to hold his hand that was tightly gripping the sword till his knuckles turned white.
He staggered backward, life returning to his dull eyes. His breaths were quick and sharp as if he was running a marathon.
"N-Nefertari…"
The sword was knocked down with a clattering sound. She took the chance and held his hand tight pulling him down towards her.
"Tari…" he hugged her deep in his wide chest, "I'm so sorry."
"it's okay Papa," she said as she allowed herself to weep in her father's chest, allowing all the fear that she was trying to control to get hold of her.
They didn't know how long they stayed like that, all that mattered was that she was able to make him snap out of it. She was able to get her father back.
She bought him back from being the Monarch Pharaoh, that won thousands of battles. That conquered dozen lands.
That was the side of him that made him keep what his ancestors gave him.
He finally stood up, back straight, head held high.
"If you weren't the one," he said looking at Javid who was hiding his son behind him, "bring me the one behind it. Bring me the truth."
Without another word or glance, he left with his bundle of sunshine in his hand.
"T-Tari" he called once they entered through the door. Gaining a hum from her as she looked at him.
The thought that she saw that side of him killed him slowly inside. What killed him, even more, is the fact that he scared her. That he made her fear him.
All he wanted to do then was kill that side of him forever…but it was the only way that he could rule over his land. To keep the order and peace he had to stay the Monarch.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because it's not sure. I wasn't sure of it that's why I wanted to keep it away from you till I know for sure." She said looking him straight in the face.
He only nodded in response, acknowledging that she was right this time. His ego and temper almost made him commit a crime.
He was going to be a murder in his daughter's eyes. He could live with anyone telling him that, the truth being said he was being told that all the time. He never cared less about them.
Seeing the worry in his eyes, she knew what he was thinking. It was true. Partially though, she only feared that she might fail and he would end up doing something he would surely regret forever.
She walked over to him and hugged him as he stood there with his mind running wild.
"Papa," she said looking up at him, "Don't think about it too much okay?"
He smiled weakly at her caressing his hand over her head. He nodded in response.
"Everything is fine now." She said hugging him tighter, "I love you, Papa."
It melted away his heart along with his worries. Making him smile even brighter.
She pouted at him.
"W-what?" he asked nervously.
"You didn't carry me."
"Huh?"
"You always carry me when I do this." She pouted, even more, when he didn't get in the first time.
He chuckled and in one move she was in his arms. One hand beneath her knee to make her sit on his arm.
"Sorry about that too" he grinned.
"You've apologized to me today more than you've all your life, Papa."
