Chapter 3 - Sam

"Guys, I'm hungry," Matthew said.

"What are we in the mood for?" I said. I hadn't really been hungry due to jet lag.

"Fast food, buffet, what?" Henry asked.

"OOO, LET"S DO A BUFFET!" Matthew was too excited about this.

"Fine," I said. "Please tone the energy, though. It's giving me a headache."

We got in two of the 8 cars we had - one for each person. We rode around in town until we found this not too busy pizza buffet. We all got out and walked in. I noticed there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, so that was a good thing. Not many people knew who we were, but I didn't want to interact with too many people. My headache was getting worse.

I looked over because I felt like we were being stared at. It was two girls. Both had dark hair, but the one with blue eyes caught my attention. The other slightly blushed and looked down, but her friend didn't notice. I think she realized we were new in town. The one that caught my attention didn't seem to have any clue.

The girls got up with their trays. They slowly walked toward us. The one with blue eyes wasn't paying attention to where she was going and she bumped into me.

"Shit," she cursed. She didn't seem afraid to.

"Are you okay?" I asked concerned.

"I'm fine," She tried to get up, so I helped her. Even though she wasn't paying attention, I felt bad that she fell. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay," I smiled. I looked at her for a minute. She was shorter, so she had to look up at me.

"What is it?" She said to me. She seemed concerned that I was going to cuss her out.

"Nothing," I said. "I was just checking if you were okay."

"Oh," she got quiet. "I'm fine. It isn't the first time I've fallen in my life."

"Okay," I let go of her hand that I didn't realise I was holding. "Have a good night!" I felt bad for cutting the conversation short.

She shook her head. "Have a good night!" She smiled.

Her friend practically dragged her out of there. She still seemed flustered, but her friend was beyond excited.

"She was cute," Yale said.

"Whatever," I said. My cheeks heated a bit, but I played it off to it being warm.

"The other one was, too," Wilson kept looking out the restaurant door.

"You find everyone cute," York said and we all laughed.

"Man, I'm serious," Wilson said with a dreamy look on his face.

We ordered our food finally and ate. We were all stuffed and we went home. We all had to get to bed on time because we were going to our first day at an American high school the next day. I laid down and couldn't stop smiling. I didn't know what it was about her, but she just captured my attention. I soon drifted off to dreamland.

I slept for what felt like 20 minutes, but I woke up to Jacob beating me with a pillow.

'It hurts!" I yelled and got up and ran after him.

"Maybe those girls are in the same high school we're going to," Samuel stopped us. "You guys need to get dressed, just in case." He looked at us and smiled.

"Yes, hyung," we both said. I pushed Jacob one more time and ran to my room.

I quickly got dressed but I looked good. This should impress her. I was giving my hopes up, but can't a guy dream? I put my hat on and grabbed my bags. I wanted to drive today. The others just had to fight over the other one.

"I'm ready, and I'm driving one car today!" I yelled coming down the stairs. "We've got to be at that school in 20 minutes, and it's a 10 minute drive. Come on!"

Matthew, Jacob, and Wilson came running towards me. "You guys ready?"

They nodded their heads. We waited on the others for a couple of minutes. We all headed out the door and got in the respective cars. We made it to the school at 6:50 a.m.

We parked and went up to the locked doors. Henry knocked and the principal let us in. We talked for about 10 minutes until the principal opened his office door again.

He opened the door and I gasped. The others did, too.

"My God," I whispered to myself.

The girl with the green eyes almost lost her balance, but the other caught her.

"Miss Jae, Miss Sale, please welcome these new students to our school!" The principal beamed.

"Told you so!" The one with green eyes whispered to the other excitedly. So, she did know who we were.

"Boys," we looked at him, "this is Miss Jae." He pointed at the girl with blue eyes. "She will help you around the school. And this is Miss Sale. She will not be technically helping, but something tells me she will end up doing so. Her and Miss Jae are attached at the waist."

"Hi," She smiled. I waved at her. I was shocked to see her. "Miss Jae, huh?"

"Oh, please," She stepped forward a little. "Please call me Jacklyn." I think she unintentionally bowed. The other guys started to smile at look at her and the other girl. "And this is Hailey. She's my best friend." She bowed, too. Though, I think she did it on purpose.

"Nice to meet you," she smiled.

"Okay, girls, this is Kim Hyun Ki or Henry Kim. This is Song Min-jun or Matthew Song. This is Park Seojun or Samuel Park. This is Jung Won-Shik or Wilson Jung. This is Jeong Young-Jae or Yale Jeong. This is Choi Ji-hun or Jacob Choi. This is Kang Young-Min or York Kang. And last but certainly not least, Choi Sang-Wook or Sam Choi." He pointed at each of us. We just stood there and smiled. The girls seemed a little unsure, so it was a bit awkward.

"Why the super foreign names to completely different names?" Jacklyn asked. "Isn't it a bit stereotypical that they have 'American' names?" I was surprised by the look on her face. She didn't seem happy that our other names seemed fake and unnatural to who we were.

"Their papers from America state that they have American names," the principal said looking at some documents. "And I lied to you, Miss Jae. They can speak and understand English, some better than others, but you will be able to get your point across."

Hailey had her mouth open a little, so Jacklyn nudged her. She composed herself and got Jacklyn's attention. "Wow, it's almost time for people to start coming in."

"So, boys, please follow Jacklyn," Mr. Hedge gave her our schedules. "The schedules should be similar, if not the same as yours."

"It's fine," She smiled. "Hailey and I have the same schedule, so it will be okay. I don't mind."

"Good," he shook her hand. "Thank you, Jacklyn. Now, all of you better get going."

We all walk out of the office and automatically get stares.

"Hailey, do you mind going to get breakfast?" Jacklyn asked.

"Sure," she said.

She left and Jacklyn turned around to look at us. "Well, let's go."

We stopped at our first period. It was choir. We walk in the classroom and this teacher looks at us.

"Who is this, Jackie?" she tilts her head.

"These are the new foreign exchange students," She slowly said. I think she was in shock a little. "They have transferred here for a bit. They have my exact schedule."

"Oh my gosh!" She said. "They will be a great addition to the choir!"

We go by the other 7 classes. By the time we are finished, it is 5 minutes until choir.

"You sing?" Henry asked her.

"Yep," She said popping the 'p'. "I can just about do anything."

"Wow," he said.

"Have you ever thought of being famous?" Matthew looked at her.

"I don't think she wants to be famous," Yale told Matthew. "No offense."

"None took," She smiled.

"Can Hailey sing?" Wilson asked.

"If you're asking if she's in choir, yes, she is," She grinned. Wislon must Hailey's favorite. "She doesn't sing." He looked a bit down. "But, she does play the piano for us!"

York grabbed her shoulder. "How do you feel about guiding us around?"

"Does it make you uncomfortable?" Jacob asked.

"Boys," She looked at us. "It's okay. Y'all seem cool, so I'm cool with it."

"Good," I chimed in. "I wouldn't want anyone else." I meant that.

I was glad she was our guide. I didn't want it to be anyone else. I already felt like I knew her, even though I only knew her name. It was weird, but it felt good.
