"Hah...hah...hah..."
After running away from the four black-dressed men, the couple are now inside a cave they found in the deeper parts of the forest. The man was panting heavily. The white haired young woman, Amtziri, extended her arm to reach and hold his hand, but he shoved it away, avoiding her touch.
"Stay away! Don't get any closer." Jillas said in a high and pained voice.
She stopped right away. She didn't know what to do. The only thing she could think about was consoling him, but it seems to be impossible since approaching him only added oil to the already burning fire. It pained her to see that she was of no help to him.
His teeth are now sharper and his upper and lower fangs became two centimetres longer preventing him from talking properly. His nails are now like claws scratching the cave's wall.
___ Previously....
when they were still being chased after, and after running for quite a long time while avoiding attacks, the horses gave up and slowed its pace forcing the couple to jump down of it. They ran on feet, but since the attackers were on horse-back, they had no chance.
They got trapped with no other option left for them but to fight. They readied their weapons. Jillas's nails became longer and sharper like daggers were glued to his fingers.
He doesn't possess ZIHR since he is a werewolf and his Caaramat __a unique ability every werewolf has that differs from one to another granted as a blessing since the old era__ was to solidify his nails and grow them longer which can only come of help in short range combats. So he focused since childhood on refining his fighting skills. And with him being a werewolf and the special body that comes with, he grew to be the greatest fighter among all the wolverine clan.
Amtziri strengthened her body with ZIHR, a glowing white aura enveloped her. She raised her left arm in jillas's direction and instantly his body began to glow in white as well.
"Don't waste your energy on me, Ziri. I can protect myself just fine, so focus on your safety, not mine." Jillas said while blocking the black-dressed man's sword with his long nails.
The attackers were divided. One man kept Jillas busy while the others tried to take Amtziri down. Ziri, thanks to her strong ZIHR, is a fine fighter. But for some reason, no matter what kind of attack she launches on them, they seem to avoid or block it easily.
'My attacks don't seem to have any impact on them, and Jill in totally occupied with that man. We're in a disadvantage and if I don't do anything about it, we will....' She clenched her teeth thinking of what can possibly happen to them. She looked in her lover's direction. Beads of sweat rolling down his face, his fangs were taller than before and he was panting.
'He's at his limits.' She thought about a solution in her mind but nothing seems to be of help. 'I guess I don't have any other choice...I am sorry, shadow twin, but I need your powers...'
She bit her lower lip and drips of blood rolled down. She licked the blood and muttered something. Instantly her eyes' colour changed from emerald green to bloody red.
Seeing her red eyes, Jillas new exactly what was coming next. It happened only once before, but it was still clear in his mind. It was the first time they met after all.
Three months before...
A large group of people from the Lawoon clan was traveling on the south-western road which is situated in one of the werewolves' territories, the wolverines. The werewolves generally and the wolverines specifically are a very territorial creatures and the group traveling in their territory without permission was considered a direct invasion and a declaration of war.
The first fighters were sent immediately to arrest, or kill if necessary, the intruders. And amongst the team was Jillas Trad. He wasn't a member of the first fighters' team. He was better at working alone than with a team. But since they may be forced to kill those intruders, he was sent along with them thanks to his experience in his 'job'.
The group of intruders was consisted merely of knights and mercenaries except for one carriage that seems to be carrying a non-fighting and very important person.
"If we capture the person in the carriage we will have a golden card against the lawoons, so our firs...." before the team's leader finished his sentence, someone cut in "For the third time, they are but mere travelers. Do you think an intruder will be marching on an open road with such a slow pace and along with a fancy carriage at that? Even if they were this stupid I doubt they will put an important figure in the light just like that. If there is a reason why we still didn't invade their territory is because they have this..." his index went straight to his temple "brains. They are no stupids and they know better than to start a fight with us."
"You've been defending them since earlier, Trad. Are you sure you're not a spy of theirs?" A well built man said in a hostile voice.
"Now I'm getting worried about the clan's future since the members' intelligent is decreasing remarkably." Jillas said nonchalantly. The man was about to retort back when the leader stopped him and ordered: "No more words, we're starting now. Get ready everyone!" "Aye!!" the team screamed, excited.
When they arrived, the lawoonien group was camping for the night. They spent no time in taking down most of the knights and the mercenaries and approaching the most luxurious tent.
Four knights were out guarding it with swords unsheathed and ready to fight. They were really respective knights that had the skill, but since they were outnumbered, they fell eventually.
The team's leader raised his hand, signalling for his men to get ready. When he lowered it, all of them invaded the tent together, only to find no one in there.
In the forest, footsteps could easily be heard. She was running at all her might in no precise direction. She just didn't want to stay idle and get married to someone she doesn't even know his name.
She was deep in thought. Suddenly her leg slipped and she was about to fall down the cliff when she felt an arm encircle around her waist and pull her back. "Oh my god!" she said surprised. Her back was pressed on a set of hard and firm muscles of a man. His arm was still on her waist. "Now that was dangerous, girl." He said in a calm voice.
"L Let go of me!" she said, a little embarrassed of their current position. "As you wish, your majesty." He replied sarcastically and moved his arm away. Although it was pitch black, but he could see her flushed face clearly thanks to his wolf like nature.
"See I told you he was a spy!" someone said behind them. Jillas averted his gaze from the young woman toward the well built man lazily. " I was wandering when will you show up. So you went to call for help I see." He said looking at the group of men coming their way.
"Give her to us Jillas, and I promise the elders won't know about this incident at all." The leader said.
"Humm, what a tempting offer. But i am afraid I'll decline." He replied.
