*Starfire Pov*
"So you are telling me that you thought this was your house... yet you knocked on the door?" I asked, looking at Lisa in disbelief.
"Well, I share a house with my friend and I forgot the key at home so..." Lisa trailed off as she looked at me innocently.
"How did you not notice this was the wrong house? Haven't you been staying there for a long time?" I asked, raising a brow. Malcolm stayed silent on the sofa, still munching on the chips he stole from me.
"I wasn't exactly in the right state of mind. Sorry," she apologised, giving me a fake polite smile.
I just stared at her and she stared back with her fake smile still plastered on.
I smiled back. "I see. No problem then," I said warmly and her shoulders relaxed a bit in relief.
'Little que, tap into the security camera outside and check what really happened.'
[Alright Star. Should I play it for you or just tell you what happened?]
'Just tell me.'
[Alright. So from what I saw, Lisa followed Malcolm here. She waited outside for a bit and then knocked on the door. Her side of the story was false.]
'I am not surprised in the least. I always knew this female lead was suspicious.'
[Yes, but why would she follow Malcolm?]
'Well, why don't we find out?~'
"So who are you anyway?" I asked, feigning ignorance.
"I am Lisa, I go to the same school as you guys..." she trailed off, looking at Malcolm for a second before muttering under her breath, "though you probably didn't notice me since you are rich and I am not."
I raised a brow internally. 'It seems like this girl really doesn't like rich people.'
[Yeah, It was mentioned in the storyline. She holds a grudge or something against them]
Suddenly it clicked. 'Wait, was she meant to have figured out that Malcolm is rich yet?'
[No, not yet. She's not meant to know his real identity yet since Malcolm hid it from her.] He paused [But then again, you did change a lot of things. Malcolm doesn't even seem like he knows her, talkless of being interested in her]
I looked over at Malcolm who didn't even glance at Lisa, still in his own world with my chips. On the other hand, Lisa couldn't keep her eyes off him.
I smiled. 'For someone who hates rich people so much, she sure seems very interested in him~'
"Well, since it was a mistake. I suppose you can leave now," I smiled warmly and she batted her lashes innocently like she didn't understand what I was saying.
My smile widened as I spoke slowly and gently as though I was speaking to a child. "If you get the wrong house, you are meant to apologise and find the house you were actually looking for. Not go into the wrong house and make yourself at home."
She looked surprised I actually rebuked her and for a second, it seemed like she was glaring at me before her expression went neutral again. "I apologise, I was just... I had been in an accident before I got here so I was quite flustered and not thinking straight."
"..."
[...]
Both Little que and I stayed silent in disbelief as we looked her over. There was no hint of injury on her body... perhaps it's brain damage?
'This girl seems to love giving quite... interesting lies. Can you scan her body and see if she has any sign of brain damage?'
[I already checked Star. She doesn't.]
Lisa stayed seated, innocently tucking her purple hair behind her ear- Speaking of this... how is she described as average in reality as well when she has purple eyes and hair?
I sighed internally. 'Could the storyline have been written from her perspective of lies or something?'
[Well... she might assume she is average in wealth?]
'Perhaps.'
"Aww, that's so sad," I said sympathetically and she immediately perked up.
"Yeah, it was such a shock-" She paused as I placed my hand on her head, ruffling her hair. "What are you doing?" She asked annoyed as she swatted my hand away.
"Looking for your injury," I answered innocently, placing my hand back on her head, "Which part of your head did you hit?"
She scowled and hit my hand away. "I didn't hit my head! Are you saying I have brain damage or something?" She full-on glared at me, no longer bothering to hide her hostility toward me.
I blew softly on my hand that she hit, feigning hurt. "You didn't have to hit so hard-" I started but Malcolm was suddenly at my side with an ice pack.
'How did he get that so fast?' I watched as he carefully placed it on my hand, lightly blowing on it as he made me sit down.
[I... actually didn't even notice when he got up. I suppose he got it after you were hit?]
{Weird. It wasn't even up to a minute.}
'That's... interesting. He was engrossed with his- sorry, my chips just a moment ago.'
[I guess he loves his cousin very much and she did get injured a lot as a kid- and Star, when will you let go of your obsession with your snacks?]
'Right. She has a fragile body. How sweet of him to be so protective~' I happily ignored his question as I focused on the scene before me.
Malcolm was looking at Lisa with a cold gaze while she looked... lovestruck?
'This girl is peculiar. Don't tell me she had a crush on him before or...?' I smiled as I saw the sly glint flittering behind her seemingly infatuated gaze, 'oh~ I see how it is~'
[Mhm? How is it?]
'I have a question. In the original storyline, Lisa accepted Malcolm's advances because she figured out his identity before he told her, right?'
[One moment Star, let me confirm...] He went quiet for a second before speaking [Yes Star, she did.]
I laughed internally. 'Oh my, what a sly sly girl~'
"It seems you have overstayed your welcome," Malcolm said coldly and this time Lisa didn't bother to argue and got up, walking to the door before looking back at Malcolm.
"I didn't mean to hit her so hard. I think the aftershock of the accident was still affecting me," she said solemnly before continuing, "Thank you for helping me though."
'Who helped her?' I asked curiously as I watched her sorry excuse of an apology.
[I am not exactly sure what she considers help...]
'She can't even properly look at the person she is talking about. How hypocritical.'
Lisa glanced at me blankly for a second as if she heard my thoughts before smiling warmly at Malcolm and finally leaving.
I smiled, 'Let me guess, my side mission is to expose her fakeness?'
[Partily correct Star. You also have to... fix the plotholes]
I rose a brow 'What does that mean? Who am I fixing it for? Rememeber when you said there's no one to question the plot holes?'
[Well, not quite... It's a complicated issue and also confidential]
{*sigh* This is so difficult to explain...}
'Go on'
"Amelia, are you ok?" Malcolm was at my side again, this time on his knees as he looked at me worried.
"I'm alright," I smiled in assurance and he sighed in relief.
'Plus I did kinda exaggerate the pain-'
[Imagine fussing over someone who is pretending to be unwell. Though that is what Lisa would have wanted]
'Except the incident I am fussing over actually happened, unlike her false accident. And don't think you can escape answering, Little que~'
[I wasn't trying to escape-]
{Though I did hope you would forget-}
"From the goodness of my heart, I will let you have some chips too," he smiled and went to the kitchen to get more chips, giving me the one he was eating before.
'... That little child thinks he can claim ownership over my snacks and then pretend like he's doing me a favour by giving me out of my snacks?!' I glared at his back as he ignorantly rummaged through my cupboard.
[Star, you keep laying emphasis on how it is yours but you seem to have forgotten that technically everything is actually Amelia's.]
'...'
[... Star?]
'...'
[...]
{Um... Did I get her angry? #What to do when your host is obsessing over snacks and you might have angered them?#}
'Little que...'
[Yes Star?]
'You haven't explained yet. Do it quick before Malcolm comes back.'
[You still remember?]
'How could I forget?'
[...]
{Why did I get a host that's so persistent? *sobs*}
'So?'
[Star, it's not exactly 'fixing the plot', just more of exposing some hidden things to the relevant parties.]
'I see, so just the male lead?'
[Well... yes. Since Lisa is connected to the hidden plot]
'Alright, is that what was so confidential and complicated?'
[... Yes?]
'Ok.'
[Ok Star. Good luck]
'Mhmhm.'
{Phew! I was able to draw away her suspicion!}
Little que is hiding something from me... Interesting.
